God I so badly want a fic of Matt Murdock getting thrown into a Lazarus pit...
Maybe after getting crushed by a building, it's the League of Shadows that takes Matt and to save him from his injuries he gets checked into the Lazarus Pit. Maybe Talia or Ra's either like his skills and see potential, or maybe they like getting a hand over the Chaste by taking one of their soldiers, so he's trained as he comes down from the Lazarus Madness before escaping Nanda Parbat and hauling ass back to Hell's Kitchen to pick up the remains of his life.
Except Matt would rather die as Daredevil than to live as Matt Murdock. Except he already felt unworthy of his friends, and now it's even worse. Now, Matt feels unsteady and shaken, the rug pulled from beneath him. It had taken him so long to get a hold of his senses when he was younger, and being thrown into the Lazarus Pit has made it so much worse, now that he's actually enhanced all around instead of just his senses.
Matt goes out as Daredevil, only to crawl into an abandoned apartment after nearly beating a man to death and realizing he's not as in control as he has to be. So he trains, making the abandoned apartment into his new home because he couldn't go back to his old apartment without Foggy and Karen realizing and he's trying to leave Matt Murdock behind.
Frank had caught on immediately once Daredevil was back in town; the man was spotted for a night, nearly killed someone, then dropped off the face of the earth again. It caught his attention, and he started looking; Matt had been dead for like two years at this point, let's say, and the last thing anyone needed was a Daredevil impersonator on their hands. (I didn't watch S3 of daredevil)
He goes hunting, and what he finds is someone that looks an awful lot like Matt Murdock holed up in a building that looks like it's riddled with asbestos. Obviously, Frank confronts him. Matt is in his little makeshift gym, blindfold around his face but he's been expecting Frank, could hear the Punisher coming a mile away (quite literally). Frank is angry, furious that Matt would let his friends believe he's dead and Matt is struggling to keep a hold on the green, trying to remain forcefully calm but he just snaps at one point, ripping his blindfold off to reveal glowing green eyes and he is so much angrier than Frank has ever seen him.

Oh my god I just had the thought of Shadow the Hedgehog getting thrown into the DCU and the Batfam, after realizing he's obviously from a different world, seriously thinking that he's just an alternate version of Jason Todd. The red and black color scheme, the guns, his angsty vibe, and I can just imagine Shadow never explicitly stating Maria's name but just mentioning he lost someone in the past and everyone is like "Ah, yes, he must be talking about Catherine" and they're all like so convinced. Maybe Sonic winds up in Gotham too, with the help of Tails, to get Shadow back and the Batfam is like "Oh, Dick and Tim are there too!"

I just woke up and somehow the only thought in my head was Jason Todd as an Etsy witch but he only sells ‘violent spells’ and instead of doing spell work he just personally goes out and beats the shit out of whoever you choose

Hello❗ : D
My instruction: I'm a writer on AO3 by the same username, my pronouns are he/him, I'm part of several different fandoms, I don't post frequently neither here nor on AO3. My most popular fanfictions are my The Archangel Lost To Time series, which is currently undergoing a rewrite, and Remember Me Though I Have To Say Goodbye, which will follow once I'm done rewriting Lost and Found, which is the main work of my TALTT series. TALTT is Supernatural, RMTIHTSG is The Owl House. Lost and Found's rewrite is named Just Know I'm Not Afraid To Disappear. Expect slow updates for all of my stories, but they're not abandoned.
Two other ongoing works are my head is haunting me and my heart feels like a ghost, a Harry Potter marauders era time travel au where Sirius ends up back in his fifth year after his death in the Ministry of Magic, like two months after his 'prank' on Snape when he told him how to get past the whomping willow. I would just like to add that me writing Harry Potter fanfiction doesn't mean that I in any shape or form condone J.K Rowling. As a transgender asexual guy, I hate her and everything she's doing to bash, insult, and hurt my fellow trans siblings.
The other work is my insides are red and yours are too, an Arcane fic where, during s1e1, Deckard stabbed Vi in the fight and the fallout.

I really want to write a fic of Jason Todd ending up in a dark!Batfam au where their Jason either died (a second time) or never came back to life. In the case of him having never come back; Bruce killed the Joker, Dick and Alfred helping him. Tim, desperate to try and save Bruce from the grief he was drowning in still forced himself into the role of Robin and Bruce protected him with ferocity, not wanting Tim to meet the same fate. Tim, who already had loose morals to begin with, had his moral code twisted to match Bruce's, who was putting rogues down left and right, Nightwing at his side.
Tim didn't know Jason personally, but that was his Robin Joker blew up. Tim would follow Jason nightly, would take hundreds of pictures of him, thousands over the years. He's grieving too, especially in Wayne Manor, constantly surrounded by reminders of what the Joker had taken from him and the Wayne's. I imagine that some people would, either for a joke or in hopes of soothing the Bat's vicious, dangerous grief, they'd try to impersonate Jason and would die violent deaths for the transgression, left in public as an example.
Damian joins the family having never met Jason, but he's been trained from birth to obey only a select few; his Grandfather, his Mother, and when the time comes that Damian would go to Gotham, his father. Damian has been trained to believe that Bruce's fights are his. Damian never met Jason, but the way he's spoken of makes him feel as though they'd grown up side by side. Jason's spirit haunts the Manor's halls, and everyone feels his loss acutely. Damian longs for the brother he could have had, the brother Dick knew and even Tim saw from a distance.
And then Jason, from a loosely canon au, gets transported to the dark Batfam world. Batman, having seen the anomaly, would go track him down. Almost killed him on the spot, thinking the Red Hood was a new rogue and despite the red Bat on his chest, Bruce was lunging as soon as he heard 'Red Hood'. The Joker was never mentioned on the streets of Gotham, and to think someone was using his old alias...Bruce is out for blood until he manages to knock the helmet off, and there's no mistaking Jason's face.
Jason promptly gets knocked out, taken to the Cave, thrown in a containment cell while Bruce runs every DNA test known to man only to get the same result from all of them; that is, in fact, Jason Peter Todd-Wayne.
Jason would wake up in a room in the Manor, his head in Bruce's lap, Dick's head on his shoulder with Dick's legs around his waist and arms around his shoulders, Tim leaning against the wall with his legs under Jason's, Damian curled up around Jason's legs, hands wrapped around Jason's ankles. They know he's not their Jason but it doesn't matter when he's a version of the boy they lost, and the more they learn about Jay's world, the more they're sure he belongs with them. If Jay ever let it slip that Bruce slit his throat, that's it. His fate is sealed, he's not going back.
In the case that in the dark Batfam 's world, Jason died a second time then Jason from a loosely canon world winds up in theirs, then they'd be more violent/obsessive in trying to keep him. Especially Damian, who I will always headcanon as having known Jason from his time in Nanda Parbat. Jason was his teacher, his guard, his brother. Damian idolized Jason, loved him more than anyone. He will not lose him again.
Tim isn't far behind, because he yearned for a brother for so long, and while Jason and him got off to a rocky start (Titans Tower), he got a taste of what it was like to be a person Jason Todd loved, and he would do whatever it took to have that again. Also Tim and Damian would kill whoever killed Jason, let's say the Joker, immediately. Bruce and Dick wouldn't get a chance to partake in the fun (read: torture) but would get there in time to see Damian slice the Joker's head clean off.
Bruce still doesn't kill but he toes the line. Dick no longer has such qualms and since at this point all of his kids have killed someone, Bruce's no kill rule is his alone and he doesn't care because he refuses to push his own kids away, or punish them, for killing when he loved Jason so much despite Jason being the Red Hood. Bruce would never forgive himself for losing another son, so he forces himself to let go of his obsession with his own rule.
And then another Jason ends up in their dimension. And he'll never truly replace the one they lost but...but they're so similar, practically the same. He fills the gap in their hearts, even if not completely. Having lost Jason twice before would make them more desperate to keep this one.

Fanfic idea where Samael, among the oldest of his angelic siblings as an Archangel, has hardcore flock instincts because I headcanon that angels are a very social species similar to humans, and are like a flock species in particular. So Samael, as one of the oldest angels, gets to watch over the fledglings as they're born along with his fellow archangels like Amenadiel since I doubt Micheal was ever interested in fledgling-rearing. And he raises his siblings, as God and the Goddess are too busy with each other or projects (humanity), so it falls onto the archangels to raise the angels. Preening is a very social activity, done to strengthen a flock's bond. If a fledgling isn't part of such activities, they become so silly stunted.
Samael raises many of his siblings, but then the Rebellion happens. He Falls, alone and banished to Hell. Samael burns away in the Lakes of Fire, and Lucifer is what emerged. Lucifer, no longer an archangel but something more infernal than celestial. I headcanon that demons, the opposite of angels, are incredibly solitary creatures, meaning Lucifer is completely alone. He tells himself that his pesky flock instincts burned away along with Samael, but he's lying to himself.
In the time it takes for him to establish his rule as King of Hell, he meets Mazikeen. At first, he trusts her as much as he trusts any demon; which is to say, not at all. But her determination and her loyalty is enough for Lucifer to begin trusting in her, confiding in her. She, as a demon, can't understand how lonely he feels nor how much he yearns to have a fledgling to preen, but sometimes when the longing gets too much, she'll very reluctantly allow him to preen her, braid her hair, whatever Lucifer needs to feel better. And sometimes, just sometimes, Lucifer would even allow Maze to help him with his wings. He would allow her to preen his feathers, trusting her not to stab him while his back is turned.
And then he ends up in LA, and Lucifer is firmly shoving down any itch he might have to form a flock of his own. He surrounds himself with people, day in and day out, and it feels like everyone leaves with a little piece of his heart but it's fine, he's fine. He feels hollow, his bed feels icy cold no matter how many bodies warm it, and he feels the loss of his wings every day through phantom pains but it's fine. He's been without a flock for eons, he'll survive. He's been surviving.
And then he meets Detective Chloe Decker. At first, he sees her the same as he does anyone else; an inevitable conquest and perhaps an ally in hunting down Delilah's killer. But then the case is over, Chloe is immune to his charms and Lucifer is...intrigued. he forces himself onto more of her cases, makes himself into a Civilian Consultant and somewhere along the way, Chloe becomes something else. Special. He trusts her in a way he trusts almost no one else, save Mazikeen.
When he first met Chloe's daughter, Trixie, he avoided her for head of being reminded too much of the fledglings he's raised as Samael, the fledglings that grew to be angels who stood by and watched as he was cast out of the Silver City. He tensed at her touch and did what he could to avoid her; every other time he'd come to earth, he avoided children for the same reason. But Trixie is a large part of Chloe's life, and he can't avoid her forever.
He gets invited to family game night, and the whole time Lucifer is struggling to push down those pesky flock instincts because he's been alone for so long that he should be used to it. He shouldn't feel such a strong desire to scoop Trixie up, hold her close against his chest and close his wings around them both. He shouldn't want to run his fingers through her messy hair until it's untangled and soft. He shouldn't want to sing her to sleep like he did for so many of his younger siblings. He shouldn't, he shouldn't, he shouldn't.
But she's so small. She's so small, and humans are so fragile, and her mother means so much to Lucifer and Trixie means the world to Chloe.
Chloe, who at this point trusts Lucifer with her life. He's eccentric and insane and sometimes acts like he's never seen a human before but he's always there when she needs him and she's a detective, it's her job to be observant so she sees the way he looks at Trixie sometimes when she has to pick her daughter up from school. Glances filled with so much pain and longing that it breaks her heart. If it were anyone else, perhaps she'd be more wary that they'd look at her daughter like that. But she trusts Lucifer, she knows he would never hurt her or her daughter, knows Trixie would be safe with him.
So when one day she's needed for something or other, but Lucifer isn't, she asks him to babysit as Trixie's usual sitter is also occupied. And Lucifer looks at her so panicked, asking if she's really sure he's the best fit but she trusts him so much, and she's in a rush so he agrees. And from there, it's instinct. He cooks breakfast, picks out Trixie's outfit, he takes her to the park. When she falls and scrapes her knees, it's instinct to scoop her up and finally hold her to his chest like he's wanted to do for so long, and she fits so perfectly.
Trixie loves Lucifer, loves when he's around because he's funny and he's so nice to her, and he makes her mom so happy. She makes sure to tell Chloe every detail of the day after Lucifer's returned to his penthouse and Chloe is just left with this warm, fuzzy feeling in her chest as she sees how happy Trixie was in Lucifer's care.
That moment was like a green light for her afterwards. Whenever she needs childcare, she goes to Lucifer. Lucifer, who's more than happy to drop everything for the chance at getting to spend time with Trixie. It's the first time he's felt so happy in eons, the first time he hasn't felt like a piece of his soul is missing since he was Banished, since he Fell. Lucifer starts spending more and more time with Trixie and Chloe, starts spending more time at Chloe's house; he cooks for them, buys Trixie new clothes when Chloe allows it, he does her hair, he sings for her, carries her, holds her close. The more time he spends with the Decker girls, the easier nicknames fall from his lips for them. Darling, sweetheart, love, darling girl, it becomes instinct.
He doesn't even realize they've become his flock until Amenadiel points it out, tentatively so Lucifer doesn't spook and run. Lucifer, who couldn't even run away if he wanted to because his instincts physically will not allow him to abandon his flock, struggles to process that he's allowed himself to indulge those instincts he hated so much to such a degree. But he can't even put distance between him and his girls, couldn't dream of leaving them.
He's literally forced to confront the fact that he's made his own little family and there's nothing he could do but settle in with them again. Chloe was afraid he'd run when he realized how domestic he was becoming only to be surprised that he didn't, even if he was acting weirder than usual while he came to terms with the fact that he had a flock again.
(obviously Linda, Amenadiel, Ella, Charlie, Rory, Dan (who doesn't die because I say so), Eve (eventually) and Mazikeen (when she's developed a soul) also become parts of his flock. Amenadiel is the happiest about it, because when he Fell he was also cut off from his old angelic flock and felt the loss like the loss of a piece of his soul. It makes him understand Lucifer better when he realizes Lucifer was without a flock since he was cast out. Mazikeen also understands Lucifer better after she gains a soul and goes through the whole spectrum of human emotion. It feels like a slap to the face when she realizes that even with a soul, she'll never truly understand what it's like to be a social creature cut off from your species; she's still a demon at the end of the day, still a solitary creature. But after facing loss and hurt and depression and grief, she understands Lucifer a little bit better and it might make her wish she'd been more indulgent of his flock instincts in the past. )

A trope that gets to me: 'guard dog' character and their partner who are both fully aware of it and honestly don't care/kind of like it. Someone says "call your guard dog off" and their partner does call them off. That person, their 'guard dog', is someone who is unreservedly, irrefutably loyal to them. Someone undoubtedly dangerous who is willing to kill, to maim, to obey, simply because of their love for one another. There's no manipulation involved— it is loyalty, brutal, dogged loyalty. And it goes both ways.
