on inaturalist you take a photo of a strange and important looking bug and everyone is immediately like yeah yeah the shoelace-footed esoteric cilantro beetle we've all heard of it and you look at it and its the most common bug observed of all time

But you take a picture of the most normal and average insignificant looking bug in the world and it's a rare species that has not been documented since 2009 when it was first discovered in the brutal wilderness of east texas

what would've been a lovely photo has instead been photobombed by a jumpy bumblebee. but I had a nice time at lowe's today

also someone asked me to be their valentine 🥰 but idk what to say..

also also--little tidbit about me. I have the complete opposite of a green thumb. every single plant that has been cared for by me withers. the only successful thing I have ever grown were mushrooms two years ago.

this texas bow-legged bug (Hyalymenus tarsatus) was found under the patio table! it was very calm with our presence, not sure what it was doing

so cool tho!

at this current moment I hold bitterness in my heart and am filled with teeth-gnawing rage. but three years ago I was at peace taking blurry photos of flowers at Lowe's.
