It was a bit unexpected, but not unreasonable. He didn't think he'd feel much different in her shoes.
"I mean- It's not like I have any control over that, Ames. The adventures just kinda happen when they happen-"
That wasn't to say he didn't feel bad about it. If anything it made him feel worse about their old routine, of him running away whenever she'd catch up to him. Sure, he was a little more immature at the time (growing up in an isolated forest will do that to you-), and at the time he'd rationalized it as trying to keep her safe, but that didn't change the fact that he had intentionally left her out of a lot of his adventures.
Still, it didn't stop him from being his usual self and adding in a quip to lighten the mood a little.
"Since when did you start believing me about being sucked into Medieval Times?? Even Tails had his doubts about that one-"
Not that he could blame him. It was definitely one of his more "out there" experiences, and the twist right at the end was kinda ridiculous... even if it gave him a bit of an ego boost.
"Either way, there's no point in dwelling on the past. All that matters is what you do now. So, if it's really bothering you that much-"
"-why don't you tag along with me for a bit? Can't promise we'll run into any world threatening monsters, but we could at least go on a little tour of all the places you missed out on... that I can still get to anyway-"
He wasn't sure if they could go back into those storybook worlds, and they definitely couldn't check out the Interstellar Amusement Park since... It kinda got sucked into a black hole-
But he was sure there were still plenty of places she hadn't been to yet, and as long as he didn't go overboard, she should have no problem keeping up.
"Plus who knows? Maybe we'll find something new along the way! Even I haven't seen everything."
"You know, I realized it is a shame I haven't gotten to really be a part of a lot of your adventures, Sonic. Or ones that I really got to hear a lot about before. You've been through so many places and experienced things that I have to imagine them more than I could see them before my eyes." Perhaps this was out of nowhere but it really was true--Amy was more than happy to be by his side and help in anyway she can, but at times she had but wished to be with him and see many worlds, meet the people and even the dangers he has faced. "I mean, I know I was mad at you and all at the time but thinking on it again, I kind of wished I could have seen the Arthurian world too. Or when you faced Dark Gaia, I bet you looked incredibly awesome fighting it with Chip! After all that happened at Starfall Islands too, I guess I don't want to keep missing out on things at the same time..."
@speedbooster liked a starter w/ Amy

I am so excited for Sonic X Shadow Generations that I can't sleep. Even though I pre-ordered the game physically for the journal, and the earliest I can go pick it up is 11...
It is currently 7 AM, and I'm lying in bed kicking my feet with anticipation because GOD I WANNA PLAY IT SO BAD!!
I'm glad I have other things to keep me busy because otherwise this would be the longest 4 hours of my life-
#outspeeding the canon - ooc;#i am in fact still alive#just been somewhat depressed... and on a bit of a social media blackout since Tuesday to avoid spoilers#but you can bet I'll be back here as soon as I beat the game because my muse will be SOARING

"Heh-"
Sonic stared down the robot, dodging it's first shot with ease... Though he imagined that was intentional. If there was one thing consistent about Eggman, he loves to show off, and usually that meant giving him a taste of what was in store before the real fight started.
"Another one of your special toys?? Aren't you worried Metal might get jealous?"
"All these new discoveries and you're slapping them on a super badnik instead of giving him an upgrade. He'll probably be thankful once I take this one out-"
Still, he had to be careful. While he could easily jump over whatever destruction Phi could dish out, any of the other Mobians trying to escape probably wouldn't be as lucky. Best thing to do would be to knock this thing off the walkway, and hopefully use it or one of the other shuttles to cushion his fall.
"Alright, you big hippie-bot-" he taunted, revving up a peelout to charge right in."
"Time to take you down a peg!"
In less than a second he had nearly closed the distance, only slowing down to prepare his opening move. A bot this big would likely be top-heavy if Egghead's other bots were anything to go by, meaning it wouldn't take much to knock it over.
He leaped onto the left handrail, grinding along it for a split second before launching himself off the side and slamming into Phi with as much force as he could, hoping to send it over the edge in a single strike.
The Eggbot standing in Sonic's way was roughly thrice his size; not one of the biggest robots he'd ever faced, but that didn't mean it didn't have its own set of surprises.
Where it would have had arms, on either side of the robot were loaded laser cannons with a bright violet glow. The lines around the robot were shining in that same color, highlighting a crystal-glass center with glowing blue eye-like lenses inside, presumably meant to look like the face of the machine.
Embedded within the center of the boy was a violet Chaos Emerald, radiating with a powerful aura that would make even Sonic's spines tingle. The robot did not talk or react, but a voice played through the speakers on its shoulders.
"You think you're so tough, Hedgehog? But don't get cocky yet. I wasn't planning on introducing you until I was done with her, but, well, what can I do? I suppose just one Chaos Emerald will be enough anyway..." Eggman cackled through the speakers. "Allow me to introduce you. Sonic, meet Phi! My newest little project-- you could call her a bit of an experiment."
The robot slowly lifted one of its arms, pointing a cannon directly at Sonic.
"I don't expect you to be impressed right away, of course; so allow me to tell you some of my more interesting findings. Such as the properties of each individual Chaos Emerald."
The Eggbot's laser cannon booted up, charging the cannon and firing. The sound alone was ample enough warning for Sonic to dodge out of the way, and where he once stood was a violet crystal, launched with enough force to create a small crack within the metal floor.
"Right now we have the purple Chaos Emerald. Which means the very ground beneath you is not as safe as you think. Good luck~"
And with another cackle, the speakers clicked off and the robot began charging its cannons again.
#q'd#sylviareviar#exploring new frontiers - modern verse;#let’s blast through with sonic speed - sonic ic;#made the hippie joke because it shoots crystals and I couldn't think of anything better-#sorry this took so long. ADHD is a real jerk sometimes

Journey Through Archie Sonic - Part 2
The Rest of the Original Mini-Series
Making this a bit later than I intended, but life gets in the way sometimes-
Anyways, like I said a few days ago, I'm going to try to make this a weekly thing. If you wanna read the previous part just click the 2nd tag and you'll find it pretty easily.
This is going to be a bit disjointed until I can figure out a better way to do this, but that's enough stalling I think. So without further ado, let's jump right back in!
Sonic the Hedgehog Mini-Series #1 - Mar. 1993
This is honestly a pretty sick cover. I've never really been a fan of the western designs they used back then, especially with the stupid mohawk they gave Sonic which just looks wrong to me, but the way Robotnik is drawn here is... kinda awesome. He's very imposing, his hands reaching out to grab him while Sonic speeds off with Sally in his arms, not looking the least bit worried while the Princess is clearly not as certain they'll be making it out.
Solid cover. 8/10
Similar to the last issue, this is broken into a four issues in two parts. The first dealing with Sally trying to get herself roboticized so they can figure out how it works, and the second dealing with... fish.
Not going to summarize too much, but I do wanna go over a few things;
1: Apparently Robotnik is... actually a robot here??
Obviously, that doesn't stay the case since... well, that becomes an entirely separate character, but it's still really confusing to me because... he doesn't look like one?
Maybe they just mean he's a cyborg? Cause that would actually make sense given his design.
Idk, it's weird
2: Sonic, what the hell does that mean??
I mean, it's probably a reference to "Sonic Twosday," the promotional event they did in America for the release of Sonic 2, but it feels kinda forced-
3: WELL MAYBE IF YOU HAD EXPLAINED YOUR PLAN TO YOUR ENTIRE TEAM INSTEAD OF WORDING YOUR PROCLAMATION LIKE YOU WERE A COMPLETE IDIOT THINGS WOULD'VE WORKED OUT DIFFERENTLY
Like unless I missed something, there is literally no reason she couldn't have told them. They weren't being watched by Robotnik, and she left a note telling them she was planning to meet with him to discuss Robotnik returning the kingdom to her, so she could've just told them her plan, and asked them to retrieve her boots afterwards so they could've figured out how to undo it, but NOOOOOO
I get that this is during the gag era days and I shouldn't take this that seriously, but this genuinely irks me... so much.
#4: Sonic can not only swim but breathe underwater
Not going to give them too much flack for this, since this was still very early days... but it still feels wrong.
He also later on starts running out of air during a fight, and continues to talk which hurts my brain, but he does get it back by swallowing an air bubble, which is neat.
5: If this actually comes up in the main series, I will be very impressed
This could earn them at least 10 brownie points.
But that's it for Issue #1. Still a decent read despite my frustrations with the first story, though I think #0 was way funnier. Like no Swat Bots dancing in the fire this time, not as many dumb sign gags. You can really tell they were still trying to figure this out.
Anyways, time to move on to-
Sonic the Hedgehog Mini-Series #2 - Apr. 1993
This cover's alright. Doesn't really tie into anything going on in the story (At least the last issue had Sonic saving Sally, even if she didn't want to be saved), and the background is a little bland. But it's eye-catching and definitely has some charm to it.
I'll give it a C-
The story here is probably my favorite out of the whole mini, as this time we've got a story that spans all four parts of the issue, and has some nice attention to continuity which I did NOT expect.
The premise here is that Sally is about to be crowned Queen (kinda), hoping to use the magic of the emeralds atop her father's crown to keep them safe and maybe help defeat Robotnik.
Interesting that we're introducing yet another set of powerful gems here. I'm really curious to see if these come back later on.
Anyways, this is probably the only major issue I have with this story-
Whomst the shock are all these guys??? Since when does Antoine have anyone under his command?? Isn't like... the entire joke about him at this point that he's really full of himself but can't do anything right??? And literally every other issue in this mini has it be JUST Sonic's group in Knothole, so where did they even come from???
Anyways, the pig turns out to be a spy from Robotnik, who stole the Freedom Emeralds to scatter them around so they can't use them.
Also... apparently revealing you're a robot turns you purple??
(Insert William Afton joke here)
After this, the pig tries to blow them all up, but Sonic saves them with that bit of continuity I mentioned before.
They're actually referencing one of those joke pages from Issue #0, and they continue to do so throughout the rest of the mini. I really like this! It turns a one-off gag into actual lore, making it serve the purpose it was meant to by showing off his different levels of speed.
So now, Sonic has to team up with the other Freedom Fighters in each part to get the emeralds back. He technically worked with Sally in the first part, and now he's forced to work with Antoine here, Tails in part three, and technically Rotor in part four (though really he just repairs the crown after Sonic gets all the gems back). Still, it's a great set up, and it leads to two jokes that got small a chuckle out of me.
The first one being-
... like I wanna hate it, but I just can't. Especially with how Antoine is completely unaware of it for the rest of this issue. He genuinely was so lost in his own head that he never thinks twice about it.
And the second is during a revisit to that underwater cave from last issue (Meaning that either this is a different Chopper or they're never going to follow up on his report... which is sad)
Like I'd normally be questioning how they drew all that with only a green marker (when there's not even green on Sonic yet), but the "I should've noticed they only had four fingers" line just gets me.
... yeah, if you can't tell I'm not the target audience for this. I think way too hard about this stuff, so books that are just trying to have fun rarely work for me. But this is what won the poll-
Still I am enjoying these more than I thought I would. Even when the jokes don't land, they're usually so charming in the way they're told that I don't care.
There are a few more bits from part IV I wanna bring up that I liked.
Namely, RETURN OF THE STUPID SIGN GAGS
I missed you so much
Also, very cursed Sonic on the right there. Somehow they only miscolored one of his arms, and I hate it. But that's old comics for you-
AND THEY SOMEHOW DO IT AGAIN
And yet, I don't care because the swag on this Swat Bot as he deploys the trap is so funny to me. He even rhymes with Sonic's quip as he turns around to mock him! I love this guy!
I'm going to headcanon this is the same guy who was dancing in the fires of Uncle Chuck's chili dog stand in Issue #0. I shall dub him... Steve. Swat Bot Steve. My new favorite character.
Finally to end the issue we have this page which is just-
I mean do I even have to say anything? It's perfect.
He even popped in from underneath the usual THE END! thing on the last page so he could go on this rant. I love it
Finally, the last issue of the mini-
Sonic the Hedgehog Mini-Series #3 - May. 1993
This cover is... charming, I guess. Very Looney Tunes-esk, but still kinda... eh-
It gets ⭐⭐
This issue is also just kinda weird. The first two parts are extremely confusing-
Sonic gets cornered by Robotnik, falls off a cliff, and then has what I can only assume is a bizarre dream caused by a concussion because... I mean-
We start off with this, Robotnik curses him and his Uncle which then causes-
... I am so shocking lost rn. This doesn't even make any sense with the context from the rest of the issue
Chuck adopts Ivo after he loses his parents, and we get... this cursed thing.
I hate him. I hate looking at him. Please make him go away-
He steals some parts from Chuck's tractor, which causes him to nearly get run over by it, which he decides to blame Chuck for, even after his robots rat him out.
... I feel like Robotnik just invented a new form of cursing.
So he decides to make a mech out of every appliance in the house, Sonic beats him, and makes me even more confused as to how Chuck was responsible for any of this when the only thing he did was adopt him.
... I'm just gonna blame it on the concussion and move on.
The second story features Sonic pretending to be roboticized by wearing a bear trap on his face so he can trick Robotnik to do... something. I actually don't know what the plan was-
Something made even worse by the fact that both Sonic and Sally decide to trick Tails into thinking it's real, which he then decides to spread the word by making his own newspaper.
This feels completely unnecessary, and as it turns out-
IT ABSOLUTELY WAS
I can appreciate that Robotnik gave Sonic the job the Buzz Bomber wanted, and Sonic's little line here but like... WHY TRICK TAILS INTO SPREADING THE WORD IF YOU WERE JUST GONNA WALK RIGHT UP TO HIS FRONT DOOR SONIC!?!?
Like... poor little buddy did nothing wrong, and he gets to believe his hero turned on them for literally no reason.
Robotnik decides to test Sonic's loyalty by having him check out an alert at one of his factories, where we see a "Robot Chuck" being forced to make Crabmeats.
Now I was going to complain about this, especially since we later see Muttski who is DEFINITELY a robot-
But again, this is another way of showing continuity between issues. This is how Chuck looked in Issue #0, so this is how he looks here. And since I know this does get fixed in the actual series itself, I can give it a pass. It's at least staying consistent with its... inconsistency.
Anyways, Sonic runs back to Robotnik and tricks him into blowing up a Buzz Bomber Factory by telling him it was the coords for Knothole village, we get this little one liner as Buzz Bomber morns the loss of his entire family and Sonic leaves a bear trap on Egghead's rear, and that's the end of the mini series.
[FINIS]
Overall, this was a fun read even if it was kind of a mixed bag. Issue #1 kinda sucked, this issue was all over the place, but Issues $0 and #2 were a really good time, and gives me hope that this might not be as much of a slog as I was expecting
Next week, I start on the actual series. Hoping to tackle at least four issues, but we'll see how that goes. Thanks for sticking with me through this very long post.
Catch you on the flip side!

Heroic Havoc
[@s1lver-bullet liked this post for a starter]
"Ugh... I'm so boooooored..."
He was laying on the ground in front of the Master Emerald Altar, having somehow been roped into babysitting it while Knuckles did... something-
Honestly, he probably should've been paying better attention during that part.
"How does Knux not just go insane sitting here all the time??"
Sure, he didn't have to stay here specifically. Knuckles had some systems in place to let him know if something was up at the Altar, and Tails had set up security cameras for some extra protection. But he'd already done several laps around the island, snowboarded through Ice Cap half a dozen times, even made his way up to the Sanctuary to go look for lost artifacts or whatever it was Rad Red had suggested he do in the meantime. But this whole thing was giving him some familiar vibes... and not the good kind.
Sure, he'd had a decent childhood looking back, but being forced to stay in a small jungle for 15 years was maddening to him. He wanted to go see new sights, explore around, but he'd seen every inch of that forest before he'd turned 10, and spent the next five years going stir crazy.
"... I should've brought some games..."
Still there was something he could do he hadn't tried before... Though Knuckles would kill him if he ever found out.
The Master Emerald was like... significantly more power than other seven, to the point that Eggman was able to use it to give two of his cheap imitations a temporary Super Form. So he had to wonder... How would it effect Chaos Control?
Unlike Shadow, Sonic couldn't do the technique without an Emerald, and even with it, he could only teleport a few miles or so. Maybe he could go further with more practice but... Eh, teleportation was so lame compared to just running there.
Still he was curious. Surely the Master Emerald could send him way further than a Chaos Emerald. Maybe even all the way to the other side of island??
"... Screw it. I got nothing else to do."
He hopped up on top of the giant-sized gemstone, and quickly got a feel for its energy. It'd been a while since he'd felt its specific frequency of Chaos Energy, not since the last time he went Hyper Sonic, but even still it was a rush. It was so much, charging him up so much faster than anything ever had.
Honestly... It was probably too much. Chaos Energy could do some funky stuff if you didn't know what you were doing. But still, he'd used Chaos Control before, he knew how the emeralds worked. How different could it really be??
"Chaos... CONTROL!!"
_____________
In an instant he was teleported somewhere else, somewhere rather dark in fact. Did he get sent to a cave??
"Hahaha!!! It totally worked!!"
He must've been sent to one on the other side of the island! Just like he knew it would!!
"Time to book it back to Altar! I've gotta do that again!!"
Still... It was a little off.
He ran down the winding tunnels, trying to look for the exit, and he noticed they were too smooth. Too structured. Had he found an abandoned Egg Base or something?
He finally managed to find some light, only it was coming from the ceiling, pouring through an odd circular covering. And he could hear a lot of noise on the other side... noises you didn't typically hear on Angel Island-
... He was suddenly getting a back feeling about this.
He quickly made his way up, lifting the covering and poking his head out to find-
-that he'd just exited a sewer in the middle of a very busy street.
"... You've gotta be kidding me."

Also I swear I'm going to get to those last few starters. These ones are just a bit harder for me to work out.
... Mainly because I'm stupid and don't want to reuse anything I did in the other ones, and I also don't want to put out something short and sweet because of how much effort I put into the previous ones-
Also also... I have no idea what a One Piece is

Lately, I've been kinda inspired to write more about the AU I was working on a few years ago, Sonic Fastlane.
Originally it was an RP group thing, then briefly was going to become a series of fan games, but both of those never went anywhere past the concept itself.
(I do still kinda want to make a fan game based on it though, just in 3D with a more SA1 style than the mix of 2D Classic with Adventure mechanics, since 2D remakes have kinda been done to death, but that's getting off topic)
The basic gist was that it would be taking a ton of inspiration from the mini series - Spider-Man Life Story (minus the aging in real time thing), where it would retell the history of the franchise in a way that would be more consistent and planned out, since we'd have a rough idea of what would be happening later we could set it up in advance.
But also, I wanted to try an incorporate stuff from every iteration of Sonic. Archie, Boom, Fleetway, the movies, Sonic X (but only Season 3 though because I don't like Chris), the IDW comics, everything I could get my hands on. Though in it's current state, it only really takes a tiny bit from Archie and the movies, as I still haven't read most of Archie, have never read Fleetway, and most of my ideas for everything else would be post Sonic Adventure, which I never got to develop much of.
The last thing I'll say is that this project started in early 2020, meaning that Frontiers was still years away, the first movie had just come out, and huge chunks of the lore had yet to be retconned into like... actually making sense again.
Let's start with the premise.
In this world, there are two different types of Mobians. The regular animal folk, and the mutants, which come about if the child was either developed, born, or just grew up around a source of Chaos Energy. Usually meaning Chaos Emeralds.
As such, they're rather rare, but like the mutants in X-Men, are generally feared by the world at large, thanks in part to a clan of Echidnas (who are all very powerful mutants thanks to being around the Master Emerald for pretty much their entire lives) and the brief but incredibly traumatic rage of Perfect Chaos, who is also kind of a mutant even in canon.
Mutants are also pretty easy to track. Normal Mobians fur are only the colors that their species normally would be, and have black eyes, where as mutants come in all kinds of vibrant colors and have the colored eyes associated with the more modern designs.
Which is why all images of classic Sonic on this blog have the green eyes. Yeah, it looks a little cursed, but there's a lore reason behind it.
Anyways, when Sonic was born, it was immediately apparent he was a mutant, and his parents were forced to hide him from the world to avoid him being persecuted. Eventually though, word got out and they didn't think it was safe for him to stay there anymore. So they sent him off to Jungle Zone to be raised by Longclaw somewhere he wouldn't have to worry about being spotted.
However, during the 15 years in between then and Sonic 1, a movement had been growing to have mutants be more accepted. And the way they showed they were apart of that movement was by dying their fur to be more colorful.
Society as a whole was very divided on the issue. Some agreed with them, some vehemently fought against the idea, same as you'd see with anything like this.
And the reason I bring all of this up is because there's a key character who's a part of this movement. A young little hedgehog named Amy Rose.
Amy is NOT a mutant. But she has a kind and caring heart, and she doesn't like the idea of others being hated just for being born different. So she dyes her fur/quills a bright pink.
Her parents however, despite raising her to be compassionate, and also kinda old fashioned. And after seeing her with dyed quills after they told her over and over again not to get involved with it, her Dad straight up kicks her out of the house, forcing her to leave in tears.
If you read my carrd, you can kinda figure out the rest. Sonic gets bored of the forest, asks Longclaw to let him run loose for a bit on his birthday, and uses the opportunity to run away from home, promising himself he'd go back and apologize after he'd seen more of the island.
After running through Green Hill and being completely unsure if there were supposed to be so many robot lady bugs around, he runs into Amy not far from her hometown, getting bullied by a few of the other kids for dying her fur. Sonic quickly scares them off, having no idea of what exactly the issue was. (Longclaw taught him a lot, but he never really picked up on the "Everyone hates mutants" thing... Largely because he struggled to pay attention for most it)
The two quickly become friends, with Amy trying to teach him more about the world, and Sonic just kinda being in awe of everything since... He's never left the Jungle before that he can remember.
So they both decide to explore the island together, having no idea the dangers about to hit the island.
However, that's not the only new character that'll be joining them on this first adventure. There's one other that I think you'll find pretty interesting (and no, it's not Tails). But I'll get more into them and Eggman's whole deal the next time I talk about this whole thing.
Thanks for reading! And please give me some feedback in the comments if you have any. I'd love to hear your thoughts on it!
#outspeeding the canon - ooc;#Restarted but not Rebooted - Sonic Fastlane AU;#having a bit of a rough day so i thought I'd share this to boost my mood a little#i really wanna do something with this whole idea because i absolutely adore this AU#and nobody except myself and two others even know it exists#but just letting you know that much like my other AU of Phantom Spider-#this thing goes DEEP. even just in the classic era#and im really excited to finally share this and see what other people think

I just had the stupidest thought, and it's so stupid that even though I'm at work, I needed to mention it before I forgot.
Y'know that Sonic x Justice League crossover coming next year? What if that is somehow the third storybook game?
Obviously, it's not a game, and probably never will be, but I moreso mean that it's a similar scenario. I mean think about it; Where else have Sonic and friends taken the roles of famous fictional characters? Secret Rings and Black Knight.
Now, that's probably not entirely the case here, I have a feeling we will see Sonic team up with the actual Justice League. But I do think that a scene similar to those games might be where those crossover designs come from
Or I'm just crazy. Like I said, this is an extremely stupid idea-
... But it could happen.

Egg's Gatekeeper
[plotted starter for @sylviareviar]
"Whew... So far so good-"
He was speeding around the Death Egg, having just escaped Eggman's prison after being held captive for six months. He was putting on a front, acting the same as he always did, but in reality this whole thing really messed with his head.
He'd lost. Badly. And while the physical torture he was put through was nothing he couldn't handle (Eggman thankfully didn't have the stomach for much in that department), being shown what was happening down on the planet below... that got to him. He knew his friends were still fighting, but he had no idea how many were left, or if things really were as dire as the doc had made them seem.
It didn't really matter. All that mattered was getting back home, and maybe freeing some of the prisoners he came across along the way.
He was in the home stretch now, just outside the hanger bay and speeding down the catwalk after having jumped off a fighter craft. If he could smash through the security measures here, there'd be nothing stopping him or any of the other escapees from taking a shuttle and getting out of there.
Though of course, things were rarely that simple.
He skidded to a stop about a dozen meters away from the end, where there was a rather large superbadnik waiting for him. It was simple in its design, same as all the other scrap bots he'd been running into this time around. What made it unique was the large capsule shaped piece in the center, glowing with a strange, yet familiar energy that pulsed through its body.
"... Yeah, I suppose I should've expected Egghead to have someone to usher me out."
He started stretching as he slowly approached the big bruiser. Something told him this thing was going to be more of a challenge than Zavok and his dumb bee bot.
"Alright, fair warning. I've blitzed through everything else in this place, and I doubt you'll be any different. So, you wanna get out of the way so I can free your captives, or am I gonna have to scrap you too?"
He sounded cockier than he felt. The truth was he was a bit out of practice after all his time imprisoned here. And while he was still confident he'd win, he doubted he could get through unscathed.
Still... nothing's stopped him so far-

Y'know, I was gonna get to the rest of those starters today, maybe do some Samus replies, try to start some things with my new followers-
Unfortunately, I ordered a new bed frame, and it came early, so I am just wiped from putting that together...
But I don't wanna have accomplished nothing else today, so I'm give a small update on some side stuff I got going on;
Archie Sonic Book Club
For anyone new here, which would be most of you, I had the idea to read through an issue of the old Archie comics each day, as I'd never actually read them before, and share my thoughts on them. Sadly after the first issue, some life stuff happened and I forgot about it for a while.
So instead of it being a daily thing, I've decided to make it a once a week thing (Currently thinking Saturdays, but nothing set in stone yet). And instead of it being a single issue, I'll go over my thoughts on however many issues I read that week. Could be only a couple, could be like two whole volumes, could be none at all because I forgor, but I think giving it more of an open schedule will help me stay consistent with it.
It's going to be a long commitment, even longer because of a poll I did on my other accounts, I'm reading literally all of Archie Sonic. But I've always wanted to read these, and my portrayal of Sonic does try to mix together elements of every iteration of the series into one cohesive universe, and Archie is a big part of that. So here's hoping I can stick with it, and finally check it off my bucket list.
Chao Garden Updates
Another project I've been slowly whittling away at over the last few years is a series of streams documenting my journey to finally 100% Sonic Adventure 2. It's been a while since I've done one of those streams, and it'll probably be a bit longer before I start it back up again, but one of the biggest parts of that that I'm allowing myself to work on off camera is the Chao Garden.
Now I'm not allowed to do the races or karate, or get any more emblems, but I can raise up my chao to hopefully make conquering those a bit easier. And I kinda just wanna show the little guys off
I do have mods for it, mostly cosmetic stuff, but I also use Chao World Extended and Enhanced Chao World just to make things a bit more interesting, so they're going to be a bit... unique. I gave 'em little hats, and I have some mods for interesting evolutions (including one that is VERY cursed) and I'm hoping that having somewhere to share my progress might help me get back into it, and motivate me to keep doing it.
Just like with Archie Sonic, this would be a once a week thing (currently thinking Wednesdays, starting next week because it's too late to start now), so you're not gonna get spammed with this stuff. And both these will have their own tags so that you can ignore them entirely if they don't interest you.
I do also wanna do something Metroid related in the same vein as these, but I have no idea what (maybe checking out some romhacks? There's a ton I haven't tried out yet that are insanely popular), so I'm open to suggestions if anyone has any
Lastly, both of these things, and anything like them in the future are meant to be a community thing. I'm trying to socialize more, step out of my comfort zone (and just have more of a schedule in general but that's neither here nor there), and I find it easier to do that if people reach out first and if we have something to talk about.
So if you see those, I encourage you to leave comments, repost, engage in whatever way you want to if the topic interests you. You got thoughts on the bit of Archie I'm reading? I wanna hear them. You got memories of the chao garden and raising your lil guys, go ahead and share them! I promise, I don't bite, and I'm more scared of you than you are of me.
And... I think that's it for now. Promise I'll try to get those last three starters done tomorrow before work, and I'll definitely be trying to stick with these ideas, because I wanna talk about this stuff, and get to know this community better.
Till then... I'm going to bed. Good night, have a hedgehog!
This is a dumb tradition from my twitter days. Feels right to continue it here.

Unfortunately, my Shadow's torso is completely detached from his legs... so I'm going to have to return him.
Sonic however-
Sonic might just be the best figure I own now
Went to pre-order Sonic x Shadow Generations today, and look what else I found:
These were super hard to find not even two weeks ago, and yet I found both of the ones I wanted right as I was checking out.
I am screaming
#outspeeding the canon - ooc;#The literal second I get a new Shadow I'm recreating the SA2 box art#And if I ever get my hands on a stand Sonic will be doing the SA1 pose until the end of time

Man, he hadn't been here in FOREVER!!
The best about down time was he could spend it however he wanted. And that usually meant running 'round the world, looking for new sights and revisiting old ones.
And this place, especially without too many of Egghead's bots trying to trash it, was quite a sight indeed. Green grass, pine trees, blue mountain tops peaking out above a sea of clouds, and the lava, which while dangerous, added a nice bit of color to the place.
After rolling up a hill, soaring above it with his extra speed before landing at the edge, he was so taken aback by this familiar sight, he hadn't noticed that he'd lost one of his rings in the ascent. And not just any ring... but a portal ring.
One which because he hadn't had a destination in mind had opened to somewhere random, and was floating in the sky right above him until, just as he was about to speed off again it suddenly got... darker.
"What the-"
By the time he realized what it was and had recovered from the shock of it all the fiend had collided with him, sending them both hurdling back down the hill he'd just scaled and slamming right into a tree.
"Ow... guess it was only a matter of time before someone landed on me for a change-"
Honestly, they should be thankful they didn't roll towards the lava.
He rolled into a ball for a brief moment, before hopping back up on his feet to finally take a look at whoever just used him as cushion... albeit a very uncomfortable one.
"You're... welcome-?"
He didn't really know what to make of her. She looked human but also looked off in a way he couldn't quite place. Add that to the fact that he still hadn't realized she'd come through one of his rings that he didn't know he'd lost, and he was one very confused hedgehog.
"I'm not sure I'd call myself dastardly but- It's nice to meet you... whoever you are..."
"So uh... you mind telling me why you just fell out of the sky, or are we just gonna ignore that?"
@speedbooster || Liked for a Test Muse Starter! (Power)
Hit by the large limbs of the Octopus Devil, Power went flying high into the air. The wind rushed past her ears, her long strawberry-blonde hair blocking her vision as she was flung nearly 100 kilometres away. She had no way to throw herself back toward the action, merely only able to catch distant glimpses of Denji fighting the devil.
And then suddenly she was falling. And Fast, too. The blood fiend felt the wind whip around her as she fell, the sky changing colour for some strange reason. And after what felt like way too long she finally crashed into... Something?
Whatever she'd crashed into was pointy and blue and the momentum of having fallen so fast made her and the blue thing go spinning down a hill and crash hard into a tree.
"GAH!" Power screeched, taking a moment to reorient herself before jumping to her feet. She felt a little dizzy but she quickly whipped her head around to look at the blue thing. "Dastardly pointy blue creature! Your dedication to slowing me down is greatly appreciated!"

Huh... been a while since he got a reaction like that. Maybe she's just tired? Or maybe she's in disbelief that the world renowned hero was here asking for directions?
Assuming he was still on his world, anyway. But it looked similar enough, so that couldn't be it, right? Every other dimension he'd been to was all... trippy.
"Wait-!"
He zipped in front of her, blocking her path.
"I'm sorry to bother you but I'm new around here, which is weird because I thought I'd been everywhere, and I could use a bit of help finding the nearest chili dog stand. I'd go find it myself, but there's only so much boosting a guy can do on an empty stomach-"
"I can give you some rings for your time, if that helps. Heck, I'll throw in an autograph too if you got a pen. I just gotta get me some lunch so I can take in the sites a bit more."
Gogo was not having a good day.
Just because she understood that there were people who would hate you no matter what you said, despite your fame, didn't mean that she was wholly unaffected by the vitriol she got for her stance against the Phantom Thieves. It was preferable to the other kind of ire she could get; at least it wasn't mind-numbingly stupid... And the pinging from her burner phone, no doubt a list of targets, was the heaviest dollop off stress on top of her grades, interviews, police work, and social contracts.
But she was nothing, if not hard-working, and she was used to juggling so much work. She just needed to--
She internally startled a little when she felt a tap on her shin, and a voice speaking to her. She couldn't see where the voice came from, so she looked down...
She blinked.
And then, she blinked again.
Great. Now it seemed she was hallucinating strange creatures in reality as well...
"...Perhaps I should just go home and rest..."
She turned to walk away. Maybe tomorrow...

It's kinda like he's thinking out loud#I imagine he just does that sometimes to interject his thoughts without slowing the conversation down. Just a quick way to add context#it's still legible but only if you're paying attention

y'know I was going to do one last starter and maybe a reply after I finished all the icons from the first issue (don't ask me how I know that) but like... 10 icons away from that finish line, my wrist fell asleep-
So that's probably going to have to wait until tomorrow
