When people say that cities are the real polluters, I kinda want to laugh at them

So I moved into a new house and some guy and his family was living there? He was really upset that I was there but I literally asked my old landlord if it was cool for me to move in and he said it was. It's a 4/2 and I know he has a wife and two kids but like... I really wanted an office space so I just kinda... Took his kids room. It's fine, he's little, he can share with his brother. I also kinda like using their shower cuz his wife's soap smells really good.
Anyway, my roommate came home and saw that I took his kids room and he punched me in the face??? Like bro, wtf, it's *literally* just a room. So obviously I beat the shit out of his kids and also put a padlock on the refrigerator.
My neighbor just texted me and told me that he has some spare boxing gloves I can used to beat up his children!! Shout out to Joe frfr

“people only *think* the economy is bad because of rising grocery costs!” okay but that’s called food insecurity, and I cannot overstate how big of a deal that is. food prices are, historically speaking, the number one thing that people have rioted about.

So you definitely don't want to read the comments on this one, but there's a new study out showing just how bad weight discrimination in the work force can be.
I like how they examine how the impact intersects with class and gender (just men and women, with 23000 ppl in their sample, I'm 100% sure there were trans ppl, unless they were deliberately excluded)
tw: o word, lots of fatphobia in the comments.
These results suggest that the aggregate costs of wage discrimination borne by overweight workers in America are hefty. Suppose you assume that obese women, but not men, face a wage penalty of 7% (the average across all such women in our sample) and that this is the same regardless of their level of education. Then a back-of-the-envelope calculation suggests that they bear a total cost of some $30bn a year. But if you account for both the discrimination faced by men, and for the higher wage penalty experienced by the more educated (who also tend to earn more), the total cost to this enlarged group more than doubles, to $70bn per year.

I don't like the term horseshoe theory because [extremely long list of reasons] but there's gotta be some term out there to describe how like. you can go from a conservative upbringing where people are weird and/or outright racist about interracial relationships, and then you wind up in some stupid pocket of leftism where people look at a mixed race couple and are like "hm :/ but is he um. fetishizing your race?" and sure it's done in a way that is, yes, tangibly different than outright conservatism, but it still leads to the same isolating effect of "alright we're being judged for our relationship, and these people kind of suck"

I say this as someone who works at a nonprofit: the attitude “someone who has nothing will be grateful for anything” is harmful and dehumanizing when it’s used to justify donating something ripped, stained, or expired to someone less fortunate.
Homeless people deserve clothing with good structural integrity. Victims of house fires deserve linens that are free of stains. No one should have to eat expired food. It’s disrespectful to give people scraps when they’re already hurting.
Please, out of respect for your fellow humans, check the dates on your food donations before you drop them off.

If you wear a size XS, you can put on an XS, S, M, or L, and it will physically go on your body.
If you wear a size XS, you can pick out a shirt that's a size bigger and it will physically go on your body.
If you wear a size 6, you can put on a size 10 and it will physically fit on your body.
If you wear a size XXL, an XL, L, or M will not physically go on your body.
If you wear a size 22, a size 18 will not physically go on your body.
Skinny people can put on any clothing they want and it will physically go on their body.
Fat people cannot do the same.
This is why catering towards larger bodies is so important. You can sit in a chair that's too big, you can't sit in a chair that's too small.
Skinny people buying up plus sizes from thrift stores actively harm plus size people. You can fit in it, we HAVE to fit in it.
Every single store already caters to you (yes, even Torrid. They're offering straight sizes now.) Leave the big clothes for the people who need them.
I'm not saying that larger sizes will FIT or look FLATTERING on smaller bodies, but if you're cold, you can put on a larger size and be clothed. The same cannot be said for larger bodies. We NEED XXL shirts. You WANT them. That's not the same thing.
