Near is orphaned at a young age, and raised at Wammy's House, an orphanage exclusively for gifted children, where he places first in the ranks. He and his runner-up (Mello) are raised to be replacements for the famous detective L; after L is killed and Mello runs away, Near later joins forces with the US government to catch a supernatural serial killer/dictator known as Kira. After the US government retracts support for Near and his allies, they escape an angry mob through chaotic bribery and later relocate to Japan to catch Kira. After Near's original plan goes wrong, Mello dies while righting it. Near and his team successfully catch Kira, and Near takes L's place. Near seemingly grieves Mello heavily, appearing depressed after Kira's defeat.

Not much is known of his life before Mello called him up to help pursue a supernatural serial killer known as Kira. He obliged, flying out to meet Mello, and hacked into security camera footage to help keep eyes on a potential suspect. Due to his cockiness/boredom, he allowed himself to get distracted and lost track of the subject. He later acted as a diversion while Mello kidnapped Kiyomi Takada to lure another suspect out. Matt surrendered to Takada's bodyguards, but was gunned down and killed anyway.

Professor Oak lives up the road from Delia Ketchum and her son, and he and Delia often appear together as they are good friends. His known family are his grandson Gary, his cousin Samson and his great-grandfather grand Oak. He is a Pokémon professor and researcher who was once a competitive Trainer and is generally considered to be the best in his field of research. His often-forgetful attitude and other antics are also notorious. He has a hobby of composing senryū, haiku-like poems about Pokémon or Pokémon-related themes.

Mello grew up at the Wammy's House orphanage, where he was perpetually the second best student, behind Near. After his mentor L died, he ran away to join the mafia. He partook in a one-sided competition against Near to catch Kira, a supernatural serial killer. Kiyomi Takada killed him after he kidnapped her (to lure a Kira suspect out) and forced her to undress, but gave her a blanket to cover herself (allowing her to write his name in the Death Note).

The Joker was a psychopathic anarchist, nihilist, and criminal mastermind (self-professed "agent of chaos") who rose to power in the criminal underworld by thrusting Gotham City into turmoil, and drew Batman ever closer to crossing the line between hero and vigilante. Heath Ledger, the actor who portrayed The Joker, described him as a "psychopathic, mass murdering clown with zero empathy".

The forced bride of Prince Ozai, Ursa had two children, Zuko and Azula. On Firelord Azulon's demand, Zuko was to be killed by Ozai, but Ursa poisoned Azulon and left her family behind to save her son's life. She gave up her face and memories for her and her children's safety.

Chidi Anagonye is a moral philosophy professor who dies after an air conditioner falls on his head. He goes to heaven, and meets his soulmate Eleanor Shellstrop, who's actually supposed to be in hell. He helps her study moral philosophy to become a good enough person for heaven, then saves every human who has ever lived from eternal damnation.

"Hey Adora..."

She's a major villain from She-Ra: Princesses of Power. She was childhood friends with the hero, but perpetually second in the rankings, and was heartbroken when the hero turned to the right side. She lost her mind being overworked, then finally turned to the bright side after the entire planet was put at risk.
