I really need the people who frequently interact with my posts to realise that everything you read, all of my long lengthy (incredibly word-y posts) are written currently by a creature on a stool (my chair doesn't have a back) with hot pink hair, awful posture and 90% of the time in my jimjams.
Every Single Poster? I made in my pjs, on this stupid stool, which you will never get a photo of unfortunately.
My upcoming braiding and veiling post? Entirely written in my pjs, researched as well. I fear some people think that I actually wear normal clothes sometimes, but not only am I chronically ill, I am also a hypnos devotee, so I do spend about 80% of my life in my pjs (which currently consist of a cold ones t-shirt and sailor moon shorts).
ALSO I NEED A SENSITIVITY READER, IF YOU'VE READ THIS AND COULD POSSIBLY DO THAT PLEASE DM ME!! (I will take a while responding)

❕ Heads up those on HelPol Tumblr,
@/cryptik and his newest account @/cryptik-mercenary is known for harassing others in the community and for claiming to be Apollon. There are also heavily transphobic and Christian (negatively) posts on his blog too.
Don’t give any attention to him. Don’t comment, like, or reblog the posts which is just a bunch of spam of characters, emojis, and non-sensical sentences,, see below:

This is all his blog is like. Spam, bigoted rants, and again claiming to be Apollon and doing this in comments of HelPol blogs.
— Block. Just block. Take a quick read of the posts if you want. It is utterly insane. Don’t interact. Block and tell others to do the same. Let him hopefully get bored enough from the lack of attention. Don’t give him what he wants or allow him to be able to come onto your blog and start spouting this shit.

So if you're around the helpol/pagan circles, especially around Apollon spaces on Tumblr or Reddit, you may have come across an account called @/cryptik. They are, in my friend Pixil's words, a God Poser.
He harasses a lot of accounts for seemingly no reason but to get a rise out of others. He did it to me, my friends, and their friends. He even called one of my friends a 'pedophile' for asking him to get off the internet. Absolutely horrible behavior.
Now I have good news, and bad news.
Good news is, he lost his account. Everyone clap, rejoice, hug eachother and celebrate.
Bad news? He made a new account. The crowd boos.
This new account is @/cryptik-mercenary. My best advice is to block him, and ignore him. DO NOT interact with him in any way shape or form, he shows clear signs of mental illness, its best to leave him until he realizes he doesn't have a place in this community.
Khaire, and blessed be.

British person chiming in here!! (nationality will be important)
I worship both the Greek and Roman sides of a lot of gods (Dionysus and Bacchus, Aphrodite and Venus and a couple more). I've been surrounded primarily by Roman statues of the gods my entire life, since well.. yk the Romans invaded, built statues of our gods, did some other stuff I could do a whole post about but won't here. And the fact that people actively combine the gods to be is so confusing, they're so different.
I will never syncretise my gods, ever.
For me, Dionysus is almost a mental health sanctum for me, especially as a university student, if that's for crying my eyes out as a devotion, or holding a ritual and loosing my sanity for a few hours, whilst Bacchus is more of a father figure to me, he's warmer, he's also been around me longer in England and also some people argue he's been combined with an older god in England or Wales to create the Green Man, who I see a lot of iconography for and honour.
No, the Roman deities aren't just the Hellenic ones in a new wrapper, they're distinct from each other.
In fact, many Roman gods had different functions before they syncretised (got infused) with the Hellenic pantheon! For example, Mars used to be a protector of Rome and it's agriculture before he became associated with war due to his syncretism with Ares.
Plus, many deities have existed long before the city of Rome was even founded. For example Juno and Minerva: they're originally etruscan deities going by the names Uni (Juno) and Menrva (Minerva).
And also, some deities do not have an "equivalent" in the Hellenic pantheon. For example Janus, the god of beginnings, gates, transitions, time, duality, doorways, passages, frames, and endings. Yes, he may be similar to Khronos, but no, he's not his "equivalent" (also since he exists since etruscan times).

Hello! This is your reminder I am British!! For my safety, I do not know how much I can actually post about Palestine due to recent actions of our government labelling Palestine Action as a terrorist group and clamping down on talk about the situation there. My thoughts and prayers are there, but if you see me not sharing resources or "doing my part", unfortunately this is why. 🍉
(wording chosen carefully, my apologises if it is unclear)

It's weird to me how certain polytheists and pagans will get suspicious and try to call out people who work with a lot of different deities at once because like,, the entire point of polytheism is to work with a multitude of different gods and spirits. If you think that pagans should only work with one patron, then you're imposing monotheism on them. A person can probably only be a proper devotee of a couple deities at once, but they can work with and honor as many deities as they want. That's kinda the point of polytheism.
Also, while I'm on the subject, I just want to say that I believe that you can give one offering to multiple different deities depending on the circumstances. If you're asking a favor from a specific deity, then maybe only make an offering to them; but, if you're just making an offering to show your appreciation, then you can dedicate that offering to multiple gods. For a lot of us, we can only give so much financially and resource-wise, and the gods understand that. Give what you can reasonably give, and honor as many deities and spirits as you please (while minding closed practices, of course).

TAROT TRICKS: How to Avoid Blanking When Reading
To truly master tarot, you have to put in the time to learn the cards’ traditional and evolved meanings. You cannot rely on your intuition alone. That would be cheating. But, when you are a total beginner, your intuition could somehow be your tutor.
1) Use common sense.
Read the room, so to speak. Observe the mood of the card or the spread. Look at the facial expressions. The colors. The setting. The atmosphere.
This way, if the question is, “Does he love me?” and you get the Nine of Swords, you do not have to remember that card’s meanings.
You only have to look at the card and see that the figure in it is stressed, not happy. The color of it is black – a shade of negativity. The background has a bunch of swords hanging on someone’s head, like a threat.
Does this card look like someone who is in love? Not at all. You have your answer.
2) Refer to the name.
The Major Arcana is a cheat sheet in itself. The cards’ names contain their meanings.
What is a magician? Someone who can do magic. Therefore, in most cases, The Magician means having magic in your life, such as a wish come true or a last-minute miracle. Anything wonderful.
Who is the devil? Someone bad and evil. Therefore, The Devil is usually someone who has sinister plans. You are being warned against a toxic person, a dangerous situation, or self-sabotage.
When it comes to the Minor Arcana, all you have to do is remember what each suit means. Wands are passion. Cups are emotions. Swords are thoughts. Pentacles are foundations. When looking at a card, replace the suit names with the above. Suddenly, the Ten of Pentacles becomes the Ten of Foundations. That is, someone incredibly stable.
3) Form a sentence.
Remember this basic sentence structure: Subject-verb-object. Jason drank juice. Andy bought books. Stefan punishes bullies. Read spreads as such. Below is a nine-card spread read from top to bottom.
Queen of Pentacles + The Star + Two of Cups. “A woman (subject) wishes (verb) for love (object).”
The Empress + Six of Cups + The Lovers. “She (subject) will receive (verb) it (object).”
Knight of Wands + Six of Pentacles + Ace of Cups. “A Fire sign (subject) will give (verb) it (object).”
This way, you do not need to spend ages on interpreting one card. Instead, you are allowing them to interact and give you one coherent message.
4) Turn to basic math.
If you do not know anything yet about tarot numerology, remember your lessons in kindergarten. The bigger the number, the better. Would you rather have five chocolate bars or ten?
It is the same with tarot. Bigger often means better. The Nine of Cups is the card of satisfaction. But satisfaction fades. The Ten of Cups is the card of fulfilment. Something full takes longer to be drained.
When it comes to negative cards, the same is still true, except “better” becomes “worse”. The Nine of Swords is ridden with anxiety. But the Ten of Swords is reeking of death. Anxiety can get better, but death is final.
This even applies to the Major Arcana. But for that to make sense, you will need a deeper understanding of The Fool’s Journey – how the cards, even the negative ones, progress in wisdom and maturity.
5) Zero in on a detail.
When you are feeling overwhelmed by the amount of cards and their meanings, focus on just one detail to get rid of your confusion.
If the question is, “How will my finances be for 2022?” and you pull the Queen of Wands, focus on the throne, for example.
Do poor people sit on thrones? No. Only royals do. Royals are rich. They own jewels, land and castles. Therefore, the querent’s finances in 2022 are looking positive.
Direct your thoughts towards one object within a card, and start speaking about what that object generally represents. Simply voice out your thoughts, and you will arrive at the message.

One does not light a candle for Hypnos, son of Nyx, for He comes in the dark nights and in the shades of trees. One might raise a glass for Him, or say a prayer out loud, things He appreciates, but is not where He comfortably lies. He lives in another place, another space, another time. He shifts among the depths of our minds and feels closer the more we let our consciousness relax. He craves our confidence in Him, for He protects and guides us through sleep, through night, through fears and desires.
Oh, mighty Lord Hypnos, may you bless our most vulnerable times, for rest and calm is what we need most in these troubled times.
