Another scan of a quick sketch idea recently found.

Was a larger sketch and therefore a little too wide for the scanner bed.

Another old piece, several decades now, recently scanned. This one I left in colour as I painted it in monochrome using watercolour. This was an early attempt to use watercolour. Inked with micron pens.

A custom pony for a niece done in 2014. Recently scanned for sharing. The lines are a little wonky as the drawing was transferred to a nice watercolour paper to be painted and inked. This is the one and only pony I have drawn other than several sketches to get an understanding of the proportions.

The first in several old sketches that I will share, found during some recent sorting/cleaning. This was from a time when I ran out of regular paper and drew on some cheap vellum. This was likely inspired by Monkeyman (& O'Brian) in the late 2000's.

With Inktober finished I am sharing an old doodle sketch found on the corner of a sheet of geometry homework.

This would be my very early teens and is based on the work titled "Holland Doll" by artist Vaughan Alden Bass. Which is interesting as, while his work is solidly B-tier, he is not among the artist that come to mind when I think "pin-up". Maybe the clear horizon line and my working on geometry?

Days 28 (for day 29 as I do not draw on shabbat).

Missed line on the face and had to compensate - then it wound up looking a bit goofy. Even so, it was fun to draw a Wally Wood spacesuit.

First time I saw Aeon Flux was on the tv a friend had in his bedroom. In. His. Bedroom. A tv! Colour*. That was connected to the cable subscription that included MTV. Objectively, we were too young to be seeing something like that. It was mesmerizing and unlike anything I had seen before and that one time stuck with me strongly. Another time I saw my first Ren and Stimpy which also stuck with me.

*Though colour was no longer a big deal in general by this time, I was only able to take a small BW tv into my bedroom sometimes to play NES so that I would not be bothering other people.

Days 23 and 24.

For the b-movie prompt I chose Cheryl Ladd in Millennium simply because it was the most recent such movie I watched.

Debated for a moment about what I would do with the Lovecraft prompt... decided that the portrait of the reactionary antisemitic racist would be interesting given the small mouth and long jaw.

For the tokusatsu entry I chose Morisato Keiichi dressed as Mega Ranger Purple in ch.224, v.35 of Ah! Megami-Sama!

Not happy with this image ... it is a sketch that is both over and under worked. Had to step away for a minute and then do another warmup sketch before beginning my work for the day.
