Have you noticed the art style change in Ah My Goddess? I much prefer the second style, especially when it comes to how Belldandy looks.

Yes, the art evolution in Ah! My Goddess is crazy! The series ran from 1988 all the way to 2014, so the mangaka's style really changed and evolved over the years. Here's Belldandy throughout the years:

By "second style" I'm assuming you're referring to the three main animated iterations of AMG (the 1993 OVA series, the movie released in 2000, and the tv anime series that ran in 2005-2006). I totally agree btw, the movie has the most gorgeous art style imo.

What series is that that you reblogged?

It's called Ah! My Goddess (or Oh My Goddess; original Japanese name is Aa Megami-sama). It's an older series that focuses on a college student named Keiichi. One day he's granted a wish by Heaven for being a kind person (in this series, Heaven/Hell/etc are based on Nordic mythology btw) and the representative is a goddess named Belldandy.

Thinking his senpai are pulling a prank on him, Keiichi jokingly makes the wish "I wish a goddess like you would stay by my side forever." Thus, he and Belldandy are bound together until Keiichi dies. Although Keiichi and Belldandy initially feel awkward around each other, they quickly fall in love and become devoted to each other. Soon enough, Belldandy's sisters Urd (the eldest sister) and Skuld (the youngest sister) come to Earth and live with the couple, causing things to get hectic.

It's an absolutely classic series and very fluffy for the most part. It's a total giant in the "magical girlfriend" genre, which isn't very common anymore. Btw, this series is also sometimes classified as a "harem" series but that's really not accurate; there is a large cast of female characters and fewer male characters (with most of the male focus going to Keiichi), but he and Belldandy are in a thoroughly committed relationship. Romantic rivals do show up, but most of the time they graciously concede to Belldandy out of respect for her.
