Lost
Let's try to rediscover tonight
All that I was in light,
Before I stumbled upon a regret
That became life.
Let's try to find,
All the pieces of me that chipped away
By the decisions I made to survive.
Let's try to see,
If there still somewhere inside me exist
The girl that I once was, in the women that I am now.
Let's just please try to rediscover tonight,
Before it's too late, too late, too late
And in the end,
Nothing of the past me
In me resides.

And even after all these years, I still think about that conversation of ours in which I learned the truth of the universe, in which I realized that soulmates do exist.

| Lost in Rome |
In the city of Rome,
She was lost,
In the timeless, ethereal beauty
Of places centuries old.
Forgetting the dangers,
Hidden beneath the surface.
Forgetting the past,
Of tainted lies.
Forgetting the Nero's music,
Born of people's sufferings
As the Rome burned to ashes
In just a single night.
All by few words, that comforted her mind.
Rome is peaceful, these words
Were nothing more than a beautiful lie.
But who can blame her, truly?
This beauty will bewitches anyone.
The beauty of music,
Created by the sound of her bare feet
Against the pavement.
Uncaring, of the dirt,
As the straps of her heels,
Entangled with her fingers
And dangle with a mischievous carelessness.
The beauty of art,
Of different places
That unite, for the sake of art
That is the very soul of
Whether it is Colosseum or Campidoglie.
As she roamed historical places
And admired, with great passion,
The saint in wilderness
A painting half brought to life,
In the hands of Da Vinci
Who was from the period of revival.
She was lost, in the art.
As her hands hold on to books
That beckons her to study,
The beauty of history,
Which has seen
Both glory and ignominy
And survived,
The many revolutions
That tried to change,
The culture and life.
All she saw was shadows of a city
Hidden behind the veil of peace.
But really, peaceful?
Rome is never peaceful,
It never was.
People have forgotten,
That it was once the land of death,
Drenched in crimson.
It was a battleground of politics,
Wrapped in hatred.
But who really cares about that?
Cities with long history
Are bound to turn into mystery
Where the glory is glorified,
And the failures are disguised.
All everyone wishes to remember
All she ever wishes to remember
The remnants of greatness,
Of the proud structures
That are bit by bit decaying.

And everyday I live with this painful knowledge that I found my soulmate, who right now is out there somewhere in this world just for one day and lost him for forever.

Midnights
Another sleepless night
Full of memories I fight,
Of all the love I gave
To the one made of steel
From whom I never received
A shred of all that I dreamt,
About love and forevers
And Undying devotions.

What I wanted from my life?
A question, a problem
I cannot solve.
The answer of which would dissolve
All those scattering thoughts
And bring me a peace of eternity long.
As I looked for the answer
In my existence of tears and fears
And all the things that I crave.
But even all this searching doesn't help
And the question, the problem remains the same
What I wanted from life?
Was it the happiness of love,
Of soulmates and forevers
About which everyone talked?
But for me which turned out to be nothing
Just a short-lived relationship of pain
And Just a big sham of the real sacred thing
Which brings two people together for lifelong.
What I wanted from life?
Is it the humdrum
Which is my current existence
That I now face?
Or is there a more?
Of which I have yet to know
A more which wouldn't be defined by my past
Nor by the dull and mundane present
But more of a future that is adventurous
Even if it is a little bit out of the norm?
But even after all the wondering
I still don't have an answer
So the question still remains
What I wanted from life?

I never meant to lose myself to the darkness, whatever I did back then was with the thought that it is just a one time thing only.
Until it became a habit.

Why I have to sacrifice my own happiness for the sake of others? Why wanting happiness for yourself is considered so bad?
I AM NOT SELFISH. I JUST WANT TO BE HAPPY.
