A happy 25th Anniversary of Lawrence Gowan's first live show with Styx - way back on July 8th, 1999! Here's to many, many more! 🍻

Whittled away at this over the past couple weeks, in SketchBook Pro - with the addition of his in-kilt Solo getup (a personal request by the man himself!)

GOWAN TAKES BALTIMORE! [2019]

I'm finally adding this artwork to my RB shop after 5+ years(with permission from the man himself, of course!) This may be a niche piece to add to it, but I felt that too much work went into it *not* to be there. (If that makes sense?)

This was done as promo for Lawrence Gowan's stateside solo show in Baltimore, MD, in late January 2019. I removed the titles and logos that were originally used, because copyright.

Done entirely on my phone in Dec 2018, as I didn't have my laptop/tablet til the following January.

Getting back to these again! Here we have Ricky Phillips jamming on his space-themed Rickenbacker bass in zero-gravity. Another piece in the multi-part commission for a Facebook friend.

Now I just have Chuck Panozzo left to do for the single pieces, then it's onto the magnum opus: a group pic, that will also include Will E in some capacity.

BATGOWAN - Mock Cover - "Group Selfie"

I had the idea for a group pic between BatGowan, DrumWing, BassWing, and Artistic Robin pop in my brain after seeing a meme on Spider-Man, where he submits a selfie to the newspaper.

Worked on this piece on and off for the past month or so, going back and forth between this and the SuperStyx League poster that I posted the other day.

I felt an updated group piece was due, since a couple member shuffles had happened since the one I did in 2018: Chord Surfer was officially announced in, BassMan left this past March, and BassWing was officially brought in last month.

Bit of discourse in the Styx fandom right now, I guess:

UCR released an article on Tommy and JYs thoughts on Dennis and the RRHoF, then DDY had to go on one of his old man rants about it. (BUT - his Post was deleted after UCR published an article on his "rebuttal", but the article gives you enough to roll your eyes at DDY)

And of course, the guys that kiss the feet of simp for DDY think that Tommy and JY are the delusional ones. DDY was the sole reason the band had turmoil in the first place! I guess when you're such a simp for someone, they can do no wrong, even with sufficient evidence to that affect. [insert Picard facepalm here]

I try to stay back and keep my mouth shut on this stuff, but maaaaan is it tough.

(Which is why I love having tumblr - I can rant on the Facebook discourse stuff without feeling as "seen" lol)
