This much is true: Foxy does not have any of them fancy upgrades and beepbops and doodads that let him "detect motion". Aye! That's what eyes arrrrr for! His eye was wonderful at detecting motion. Most of the time! The other eye was functioning too, just trapped behind an old patch that creaked and got stuck when Foxy tried to open it. Alas, while the seas may be rough, it was stranger still that the seas of fate had brought Foxy to a...dark basement? Or an auditorium, as a new voice suggests. Faded, messy, orange ears drift towards the new sound, his head cocking to the side at these "rules" being given to him.

"ARRRRGH! Ye be lookin' at the finest sailor in all seven seas, ye combative captain, the dread pirate Foxy!" Hook hand raised to the sky in victory, his chest pushes forward with pride. "I'm no technician! I'm a respected and feared pirate! And who may ye be? Never seen a pirate dressed in...the tones ye wear, but I love a surprise! Lemme know the vulpine vexing me!"

motion detector alerts a movement behind him shifting the shadows, which pricks his ears. his mouth opening, with yellow-orange eyes peering backwards. "who has entered the funtime auditorium?" the multi-colored fox asks. she feels intruded upon. fingers curling, with an experimental shift in place. the wave of her tail notably tail less friendly than it is in warning. "you are not supposed to be here, unless you are a technician. not unless during specified hours." yellow pans, face-plates shifting in confusion when he lays eyes on the other fox. "who are you?"

But it does feel a lot like the idea of Phantom rebelling against this idea of "perfection" that is to be expected of a Quintessence. Going against what other Ghouls see in Quintessence and their expectations. Phantom being proud enough to see the value in himself rather than just the value in his title

"You don't have to fight and struggle here, though. You're loved here." While Aether was no longer on tours, he had made himself at home in the infirmary of the Abbey. His time in the spotlight had since moved onto a new form and. Yeah. Aether knew that Dew wasn't taking kindly to this change. Aether wasn't playing his guitar, he wasn't meeting up for practices, he was keeping to his room and the infirmary and the library. He still made himself at home, even if he didn't get to see Dew all that much anymore.

"You are strong, whether you're in a fight or if you're just talking here with me." Aether's large hand settled on Dew's thigh, tusked fangs flashing with a kind smile. His other hand reached for a roll of bandages, unfurling it and wrapping it around the exposed, red, no longer bleeding claw marks embedded into the flesh on Dew's arm.

"You are who you are. Doesn't change if you're right here with me. Doesn't change if you're talking to Phantom, right? I don't think startin' fights with the new Ghouls is a good way to make friends on the road, yeah?"

Hell was home. Hell was full of life, full of demons and Ghouls and beasts and spirits. There was so much happening down there that it made life up here so...confusing? Phantom wasn't used to the idea of living up above, side by side with stranger Ghouls and humans that weren't just prey. These humans were in charge and he had to listen. He had only been in Lucifer's care for a short time, sent up to mortal realm as soon as he was ready, his horns fully grown in and his magic as a Quintessence...improving! He was getting better. Maybe he was just on Earth to improve his skills, aid in Lucifer's conquest, and he could go back.

They were getting ready for a tour, practicing and preparing, getting familiar with instruments and...Phantom was nowhere to be found. He wasn't hiding in the rafters, he wasn't in the infirmary, he wasn't in his room hiding under his covers. At the time of his finding, Phantom had been traipsing around in the basement, getting lost in its labyrinthine walls, staring at each detail from mismatched eyes behind his mask. When he heard Papa's voice, his spine went completely rigid and his tail followed suit.

He was in trouble. Un...til he wasn't? He wasn't in trouble? Papa was speaking such kind things. He wanted to give Phantom chances. His tail went less taut, sinking closer down to the floor in a bit of comfort.

"I....am not in trouble? Why would you want to give me a chance when I have to obey perfectly? I'm not meeting expectations."
