Lowkey they’ve gotten a bit of weird attention (some positive which I’m grateful for!) but it’s making me slightly apprehensive abt posting them…idk!

This is such an IRRELEVANT rant but WHATEVER… Idk why…but I think there’s some confusion w jekylls age

Jekyll IS 50 at the beginning of the book “a large, well-made, smooth-faced man of fifty”. This could be interpreted as “in his fifties”, but assuming Jekyll and hyde (as in Hyde’s creation) spans a little over 2 years, (perhaps even 3 but atleast the story is over 2 years), Jekyll would be about 51 or 52 by the end. And I say assuming bc the specific language used “of fifty”, not of about fifty…

The book takes place almost exclusively in the winter, with October and august (not mentioned) being wild cards (also not counting March bc the beginning of March is the only mentioned). Basically cold frosty chilly ass book… but yeah unless jekylls bday is in December I think 51 by the end is a safe bet. When his age is mentioned (ch. 3) the date is likely LATE October-December I would say…

Anyway I love the dates in jnh idk why I’m just crazy and ill that way… I vividly remember riding the bus home in middle school and overthinking that January typo from the final few chapters… (I’m crazy)

I really wanted to finish it and make it pretty, but ig the universe wanted to teach me a lesson to always post my wips because it will just randomly destroy my art…ik I’m being dramatic and all but i genuinley feel sick im so upset lol…
