My emotional life is a mess and I am so behind on what I’m supposed to write but I found these treasures on the free shelf in the university building. (Especially in love with that cute edition of Eichendorff’s Aus dem Leben eines Taugenichts.)

Blue is the typical heavenly colour.

When very dark, blue develops an element of repose. When it sinks into black, it echoes a grief that is hardly human. It attains an endless, profound meaning sinking into the deep seriousness of all things where there is no end. Rising toward the light, a movement little suited to it, it takes on an indifferent character, growing more distant to men like the high, light blue of the sky. The lighter it is the weaker it becomes until it achieves a silent repose by becoming white. In music, light blue is like a flue, dark blue like a cello, and when still darker, it becomes a wonderful double bass. The deepest and most serene form of blue may be compared to the deep notes of an organ.

23.08.24 i am currently enjoying my exam/term paper-free life by working too much, cleaning to de-stress and finally getting back into reading (bought piranesi by susanna clarke yesterday, very excited). my first master's semester is slowly approaching and the courses all look promising. also, looking forward to autumn!
