Work in progress of my Character Nahlin. Haven’t had the most time to work on it but I think I’ve locked down a lot of what I wanted for the light and color so far.

I needed something to do as a quick warm up today and a friend suggested Aku, sense I draw him all the time in my sketch book. Took it a step forward and made it into an Aku Self portrait. I had no internet when I did this so I was taking the color pallet from memory.

working on a few things for free comic book day. Doing colored versions of coloring pages I made to hand out.

Making a bit of tradition to draw Nalin on April Fools with him being the trickster type character in Steampunk Octopus. He won’t show up until book 2, So its good to have a little reminder I need to redraw him now and then. I did some reworking of his design so he didn’t look so closer to Nimo. Its also just nice to put this up next to the pic I did next year and see how I’ve improved in 1 years time.

Finally got around to scanning some sketchbook art tonight. Fun story with this one, I did a rough sketch of this about 4 years ago on a tiny posted note. That posted note has disappeared and resurfaced dozens of time in the last few years. Finally took the time to draw it out a little better.

Lately I’ve been trying to redesign Nimo a bit. He’s the one I always struggle with when I’m trying to draw him on model. Not sure If i’m deadset on the green, but I twas a nice way to change it up while trying different things.

another sketchbook sketch I did at the same time, this time quick drawings of Seth and Simone. For the book I’m trying to age Simone up a little visually, She suppose to be in the 10-12 range, and the way I drew her in the comic I think most people thought she was 5.
