The film is based on the book series The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvator. The movie is 2+ hours long, so you're gonna have a lot of work ahead of you.

As you can tell from this list, I don't know musical terminology. I won't be able to give you directions like "Give me something 4/6, in b flat minor, with a double crescendo" and be confident that I'm saying what I want. Instead, you're gonna be working with briefs like this:

OK, so Stevie Nicks and Prince style, but crunchy. The song looks like you just set a rose on fire and are watching it burn in slow motion while cherry blossoms fall around you, and it's snowing.

Or

The guitars are having gay sex but they hate each other OK??? They're making it into a competition and they love it, because it's the only way they know how to show affection to the other. There's a wall there and they both know it & this is the only way they know how to scale it bc they haven't knocked it down yet bc neither of them will accept they need therapy.

Popping candy meets toffee apple, but they're in love and communicate via flavours. Give me that as a 2 minute song.

The butterfly princess of the fairies ran away from home because she fell in love with a human. But in giving herself to the human realm, she killed herself, because butterfly faeries can only live for 12 hours in a human body. She knew this, and still believed this 12 hours of human love was worth more than an eternity of springs and summers.

This is for everyone's protection - if I know you are a minor, then I know not to give you a brief with anything explicit in it (taking the example briefs given above, I wouldn't give you the 2nd brief if you're underage). It also means I have a better chance of keeping you safe in the group chat, if someone makes you uncomfortable. (NOTE: If you are under 18, I *need* proof of your parent's or guardian's consent to include your name in the credits. Without it, I can only credit you with your first initial & surname, or your first name & the first initial of your surname, or just a nickname you are comfortable with.)

One of these teens is the daughter of a psychic. She has been raised in a house and family filled with psychics and witches... yet, she is the only one who doesn't have psychic powers. She can't see the future. She can't see the past. She can't divine a single thing. She can't talk to the dead. Instead of having powers of her own, she makes psychic energy louder for everybody else to interpret, making their predictions more accurate and ghosts easier to communicate with. She had never heard of Glendower before she met the Raven Boys. But she has a secret: one of these boys is prophesied to die within a year, and she is cursed to be the one who kills him.

While the teens are searching for their sleeping king, there are people in the shadows of the adult world looking for something very specific: an object which can bring dreams to life.

As their paths begin to cross, and the stakes get higher, the teens learn a very real lesson: people are willing to kill in order to collect this object, and a dead teenager is just another body to step over. As the final walls close in on them, the teens have a crucial decision to make.

What they don't know is that the king isn't the only one sleeping on the leyline. And as far as the Old Ways are concerned, if you don't know exactly what you are running the risk of encountering on your path to finding what you're searching for, you're bound to trip up. Will it be the king who wakes, or another?

YA animated film, with horror, supernatural mystery, romance (straight, gay & bi), family bonds, and the question of what gets sacrificed in the grey area between childhood and adulthood. Also, there are talking trees. A lot of them.

3D ARTISTS WANTED

I'm looking for a 3D artist to create the sets & props for an animation I'm making. It's going to be a 2+ hour long film, all made & animated in Blender 4.0.

This is an UNPAID project.

The film is based on Maggie Stiefvator's series ‘The Raven Cycle’. Half of the voice acting cast are fans of the series, the other half joined up due to being interested in the project when they found out about the plot line.

I'm currently finishing the puppets, and am behind schedule. I need you to help create sets, ranging from house interiors & exteriors, streets, forests, countryside, an academy, to many others. You will also need to create posters, menus and signs to be used as decoration on the sets. You will also be creating props, cars (interior & exterior) and food.

There is a lot more which I'll tell you about if you are interested.

I have the sets designed as floor plans and 3D concept images made on HomeByMe, and I have links and photos to the correct items of furniture and accessories and home goods for in each of them.

All of the sets must be ready for animation. Some of the sets will need to be rigged with minor movements (doors opening and closing, breezes catching flyers, leaves rustling and falling / flying in the wind, twigs moving in the wind) and some will need to be rigged for major movements (earthquake, etc). There are also some details I'll fill you in on if you are interested in this project.

Ideally, I'd prefer to be painting the sets, but if we end up not having time for that, I have resources for you to follow in terms of colour palettes & textures.

To be considered for this project, you MUST:

Have experience with Blender 4.0

Have experience with Greasepencil

Have experience using the two together

Be patient, since this is my first collaborative project (& also the biggest one I've done to date)

Be chill with the fact I'm trans

Be chill with the fact some of the animation features lgbt+ rep & spiritual stuff (witches, ghosts, magic, demons, curses, etc)

Be available to reach via Discord

Be chill with zoom calls & using VC a lot to go over what I'm on about, because I like talking about this out loud (zoom because the lights on Discord’s video call bugs my eyes)

Be able to match / replicate the art style for this film (I'll show you the characters, and I'll show you the reference images for the sets, and the art inspiration for textures, colour and lighting, and I can infodump about all of it)

Be able to copy / reinterpret the mock-up designs I've made for posters (they're made with Canva, so you're welcome to tweak them so that they actually fit the aesthetic of the film while actually fitting in the buildings without looking out of place)

Be able to model objects to the same standard as the puppets

Be able to work to a deadline

Be chill with the fact the voice cast range from 14 to their 40s/50s

I need these sets finished by August 5th, 2025. Final artists will be picked between the 20th and 25th of June, 2025.

I'M LOOKING FOR BACKGROUND ARTISTS TO HELP ME WITH AN ANIMATED FILM I'M MAKING

I'm looking for 3 - 5 background artists to help me out with this animated film.

Skills you MUST have:

Blender 3D 4.0

Blender Grease pencil 4.0

Combining Grease pencil with objects created in 3D space

Working to a brief

Working to a specific aesthetic, even if it is not your preferred one

Matching aesthetic & style with other artists / working in a collaboration without having your work stand out as 'Not like the others'

Working to a deadline

Things you can expect to be working on:

Interior & exterior background sets (which are accessible for walk-throughs & direct contact with 3D animated characters)

Clothing accessories

Car decals

Trinkets

Important things to note:

This is an UNPAID project

You will be starting on June 1st and I need EVERYTHING finished by July 31st

Everything must be rigged (or ready to be rigged) for animation by the 31st of July

You will be working from reference images which will include photographs, drawings & floorplans, paired with my notes

I will send you a recording of some of the characters so that you can see the aesthetic & style i will expect you to work in

I will also tell you all of the characters' heights, so that you can scale the sets accordingly

You will not have to colour any of the sets

I will need frequent updates & open, clear communication throughout this collaboration (text and voice calls)

I will need unedited screen recordings of your process to include in my BTS material

You will be credited

The reason I am needing you to be 18+ / 21+ is because if we world well together, I will likely be asking to collaborate again in the future, and some of my future projects are going to be age-restricted.

What's the film about?

It's an adaption of The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvator. A group of teens discover a forest where the trees speak Latin, and where the impossible becomes ordinary. Together, the teens are trying to find the resting place of Owain Glendower III, the last true Welsh King; legend says that he is one of the sleeping Kings, and that when someone wakes him, they will receive his favour. But as the stakes get higher and the danger becomes real, they learn they're not the only ones searching to wake the legendary King - and there are some people willing to kill in order to have the King grant their favour.

In a place where dreams come to life before your eyes, ravens sing, trees speak and psychics see the future in their cards, there is more magic than most will ever know; but magic this powerful is bound to attract people with poor intentions, sooner or later. Things are rarely as simple as they appear, and there are more things laying dormant than you might expect...
