I sometimes wonder if the dungeon meshi X reader pool is really that bad until I'm stuck rereading the same ones.. including if theyre x fem!reader (I am FTM/transmasc) LMAOAO

If you know the "Bark like you want it" trend that's going around a bit, it reminded me of Laios (go figure), but legitimately made me think how, with enough wear and tear, he would indeed, get me to bark.

HE WOULD UNLOCK THE SURPRESSED FREAK INSIDE ME, AND ID BE A FREE, AND CONFIDENT, MAN WALKING. NO BARS HELD BACK!!!

Hot take, if my dunmeshi self insert were to randomly become the Dungeon Lord, it would 100% not be human in any form. I want to go crazy style and be a giant disfigured monster, kinda like The Watcher in The Evil Within 2, but prob out of wax, maybe. This is more or less because of my set of self perception, and to be like, moldable, in some way, is very appealing to me. Be like a three-bodied wax monster, almost like a chimera in a way, but still be conscious and human minded, of course. I can't understand why I chose wax monster, but it's been on my mind for a LONG minute.

I might be misremembering and taking some stuff out of context from the initial oneshot/hypothetical, however comma

I get so fucking depressed when I think about that "What If" Laios was eaten by the dragon instead of Falin. I mean literal slumps, and especially at work too, it's bad (mentally) 😭 Idk, maybe it's cuz I'm bias and really do like Laios as a character and someone I relate to, BUT SOMEONE HELP HIM GODDAMN!! It's worse too thinking how everyone kinda just, does favor Falin a bit more because she isn't as "weird" or unpopular as he is (mainly from his perspective, maybe true at the beginning of the story).

And, if thinking in that same line, how if Falin did manage to somehow convince them, it would be more in favor for her than for Laios or his wellbeing. "Oh, we gotta go save Falin's brother. We should do this, for Falin."

Bleh, man, I hate thinking about it because you can't even say "go grab an officer" or whoever is willing to be paid to go collect a person from a big ol dragon, cuz that's money! That nobody gots! Makes me lay on my bed like that damn dehydrated alien meme, in pain. ["I'll do it no pay" <- delusional vers of me speaking]

So, I *technically* had a self insert/oc before the repost that said I made one, but that OC was more or less a concept before I settled for the one I have (at least more fleshy in character). Basically, wolf beastman, but was sold to fight blah blah blah

I think I ended up dropping the oc because of the og post/question (confronting Laios's interests + it was ages ago), I couldn't find a good answer to even my own character and the way he was.

Similar feeling as you, just bad call because of the vagueness of it (imo). I don't doubt that it couldn't work though! Just need more brain points to spend onto that idea and all.

To the peple with Hybrid Oc's/self inserts, if you ever ship em with Laios, does your character ever feel invalidated by him ? As, do they feel like he's only interested in them as a species to observe than as a person? Or do I just like angst for my own lil guys LMAO

(Bonus if they ever confront him like yo are we homes or nah bro slash if it gets resolved at any point)

laios isn't quite a furry I think he'd identify more with otherkin, yea yea there's a lot of intersection between those groups but if you took laios to a furry convention he'd be very disappointed. Because 1 not real beasts and 2 most of the furries are definitely not scientifically accurate but cartoony like laios would be very uppity about it. He got disappointed by seeing a real werewolf that wasn't natural.
