here’s ur friendly reminder to let urself eat literally whatever the fuck u want whenever u want. ESPECIALLY if there’s a lot of shit u cant eat for various reasons; dietary restrictions, fatigue or pain preventing u from cooking.
anything is better than nothing.
junk food only? good for you!!!!
snacks/candy/whatever? i’m so fucking happy that u r getting something in ur body at least.
i would rather have us eat “unhealthy” than not eating anything.

it's christmas day, 12/25/2023, i want to say a special Merry Christmas to all Palestinians, both within Palestine and within the diaspora
all i want for christmas is justice, equality, and for every single person to have equal easy access to the basic human rights of food, water, shelter, and medicine
there's a quote i heard a while back and have kept in mind for quite a while, i'm not sure who it's from but i'll share it here
"Apartheid, slavery, and colonialism were all legal. Legality is a matter of power not justice"

OMG I FORGOT MAGNE AND TWICE-
Magne is def a part of trans solidarity with the Palestinian struggle, her exact ways would prolly be a mix between Toga/Spinner and Compress, i think her along with Compress would spend evenings sitting together reading literature (definitely read Angela Davis together) and share the info they read with the others through casual conversation and 'actual meetings'. I do think that from this the others would pick up the books and either read bits and pieces or the whole book in one sitting (aka shiggy definitely pulled all nighters for a whole week after Big Sis and Compress mentioned a few of the books during a meeting)
Twice i think has sat sobbing with Toga after sitting the pictures and videos of Palestinians, on multiple occasions. i think cuz of his rough childhood he had heard bits and pieces of conversations and arguments related to zionism/anti-zionism and israel/palestine, but didn't really know too much until his own tipping point with his quirk, cuz that mental issues related to his quirk made him question he views and life and systems of power, he spent some time while on the street and with Giran reading any books he could get a hold of, it likely wasn't much but he definitely has done what he can to understand the situation.
ALRIGHT FICTION CAN AND DOES HAVE REAL LIFE POLITICAL RELATIONS, RIGHT???
hear me out, Boku no Hero Academia explores how failing of government and powerful organizations exploit and misuses their power to fuck over other people for the sake of gaining more money (i.e. All Might and the Hero Public Safety Commission, Hero Rankings, Quirk Discrimination, THE EXISTANCE OF UNDERGROUND HEROS AS ATTEMPTS TO CHANGE AND GO AGAINST THE GREED FROM WITHIN, etc) [i'm aware this will piss a bunch of people off]
Here are headcanons that I think fit with the characterization
All For One would 100% be a zionist, he'd definitely give quirks to other zionists, he'd be in it for the "chaos" and would tell the League (mostly Shigaraki) that supporting zionism would help their cause (it won't)
Shigaraki would be a zionist up until Kamino, once All For One is imprisoned and he see's Kurogiri as having left him (Gigantomachia and 'Giri gets arrested), he does his best to lead the League on his own; he goes and learns, both online and cuz they're living on the streets, he gets to know (at least a bit) the other members and begins breaking out of the echo chamber AFO had him in, then after the battle with Re-Destro and becoming the leader of the Paranormal Liberation Front he would stand firmly as an anti-zionist and support the struggle for the liberation Palestinians
Toga and Spinner would both openly and strongly support the liberation of Palestinians. I've grouped them together here because of the nature of the quirks, they both understand what it's like to be demonized for a part of them that they have no control over. Toga would understand the pain of having to hide that part of her (aka her parents forcing her to hide the nature of her quirk), and Spinner would understand being unable to hide that part of him and then being blamed and abused for just existing. Grouped together because they'd have similar understandings and feelings.
Dabi would 100% be an anti-zionist, I hc that Endeavour would be a Zionist and therefore at first Dabi was only an anti-zionist (after waking from his coma) to spite his father, but then he started to see some parallels between him and some Palestinians. During his time on the streets I think he'd definitely burn and start fights with zionists and definitely has a hatred for them; i could see this (along with his general anger) could factor into his scars being as bad as they are
Kurogiri wouldn't necessarily be a zionist, up until his imprisonment he was owned by AFO and would definitely act like his was just to avoid more probable torture. Once in jail he has a lot of time to think and after the visit by Aizawa and Yamada (Eraserhead and Present Mic) the control AFO and Garaki had has been shaken, I think his views are definitely more towards anti-zionist but there's a lot of trauma-focused therapy work and deprogramming to be done. However, Oboro, Kurogiri's 'base', would definitely be anti-zionist and prolly learned about everything from Aizawa and Yamada.
Compress is anti-zionist and possibly learned from his father, he 100% troll zionist, and while supporting more 'serious' forms of protests he understand the necessity of being a fucking goof and troll in impactful ways.

Hate in your soul
With a heart far more stubborn than tungsten
Ridicule and needless criticism is all that you told
Couldn't accept your own child changing
Couldn't accept your own child needing help
You turned me into you
I am no better than a monster
Attacked everyone I love
I fell for it.
Maybe this is what happened to you?
No more than a child,
But at least I said I'm sorry.

Israeli politicians reject Biden’s renewed call for two-state solution One of the first Israeli reactions to Biden’s comments earlier has come from the minister of communications, Shlomo Karhi, who said that a Palestinian state would “endanger the security of the Jewish people”. “There will be no Palestinian state here, we will never return to Oslo, and we will not allow the establishment of another state between Jordan and the [Mediterranean] Sea,” Karhi said. Another member of parliament, Ariel Kallner, told Biden, “Please don’t ask us to commit suicide.” The comments echo the common right-wing Israeli rejection of any attempt to bring about a Palestinian state.
The freedom of one population does not require the oppression of another population. The shown statements are not true.

Israel has worked hard to portray Gaza as a barren wasteland, backwater that is a terrorist stronghold. In reality, Gaza is a beautiful city/region with a rich history that has been decimated from constant bombings and strangled by the blockade. So much of what is being destroyed by Israel are restaurants, bookshops, schools, universities, houses and much of what contributes to life in Gaza and people’s livelihoods. Places that are attached to and filled with the memories of Palestinians in Gaza. It’s not just about making life miserable for the people who live there, but about projecting a particular image of Gaza to the world. This is also similar to how the US has portrayed places like Afghanistan to justify its invasions.

sometimes im worried im in a bubble of compassionate people, but then i go outside of tumblr. when i check in on instagram, take a peek onto twitter, reposted tiktoks, fucking splatoon, apparently also roblox. images and videos of people angry and protesting, and people, including children, saying the most they can with what social media outlet they have.
no matter how much they try, media giants and coorperations can't hide what the masses think. i think my college blocked a donation site to palestine, tumblr is keeping related tags off trending, twitter is doing the same, google searches lead to misinformation and news outlets are cherry-picking, lying, or not reporting at all. world leaders vote and give money to end a people.
but even with they're power, they are few. citizens from all over the world are many. everywhere you look online, millions of people won't let you forget, won't let them forget. even if it's not right outside your window.
i just. i love the human spirit, human compassion and love in the face of human evil.

i do not pity israel. never have, and never will.
each night that gaza experiences is deadlier than the last, as idf soldiers record propaganda tiktoks, make rave parties and grwms and fit checks, gloat over having food and water, and film themselves deriving sadistic pleasure from torturing their hostages and victims and desecrating the dead.
Palestinians have to display their martyred before the camera for you to believe the atrocities that the zionist entity has subjected them to. they cannot even mourn in private. the apartheid entity murders them in cold blood, and you deliver the killing blow by doubting them.
babies whose families have been killed will never get to know their own name.
i can't reshare a tenth of the videos and photos that cross my timeline. i have seen more dead children in the past month than i have known death my entire life.
israeli settlers burn olive trees, bomb bakeries and fishing boats, shower white phosphorus and earthquake bombs on the captive civilians of gaza. you already know about the disastrous effects of white phosphorus, but earthquake bombs were last used during ww2 to wipe out entire cities.
how holy is the land that seeks to be built over the mass graves of thousands of children? is it holier than the miracle of a child being born in this hypocritical world?
all 11 universities in gaza have been bombed. academics should be agitating right now, especially those who call themselves "decolonial thinkers." destruction of universities is a sinisterly deliberate act to sabotage the Palestinians who will survive this great catastrophe.
the act of cleansing your hands before prayer is extremely important to muslims. no part of us can remotely comprehend the grief of the mother who refused to wash her hands from the blood of her children after losing them in a zionist airstrike over gaza. "I swear I won't wash them, I won't wash my hands, how else am I supposed to sleep near my kids."
it is only both moral and right when one side defends itself. the other side are the price of war, no better than insects and cattle and sheep left to die within the four walls of the slaughterhouse.
this situation should not be up for debate, but let me finish with one final thing : do your research about Palestine. HOWEVER. you do not need a degree in middle east studies to object to an ongoing genocide. if someone outwits you in a debate about historical details and every nuance of a subject, you were and will remain entirely correct in objecting to a genocide.
may those martyred rest in peace and be reunited again with their loved ones in heaven's eternal vastness.
DO NOT STOP TALKING ABOUT PALESTINE.
glory to Palestinian resistance. from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.

Jew here with a friendly reminder that:
Criticizing Isreal ≠ antisemetic
Supporting Palestine ≠ antisemitic
Believing in the Free Palestine cause ≠ antisemitic
BUT ALSO
A random ass Jew just living their life oceans away has nothing to do with the Isreal-Palestine conflict
Palestinian Jews exist
Jews that support Palestine exist (I am one of them)
Calling out ACTUAL antisemitism ≠ supporting Isreal

"24 massacres in 24 hours"
This is how Palestinians are describing today (October 23) in Gaza
The death toll had passed 5000 including 2000 children
Five thousand murdered in two weeks
1200 of which are unaccounted for under the entire residential buildings that have been flattened
This is not normal
We cannot get used to these numbers
This is horrific and we need to keep advocating and holding israel accountable for this and call it what it is: genocide.
Read, share, boycott, amplify Gazan voices - do whatever you can but don't ignore this now that you know.

700 Palestinians were killed in the last 24 hours and the airstrikes are more violent each night. Gaza's hospitals have fuel left for two more days. Israel only allowed aid into Gaza on the condition they didn't carry fuel. The Indonesian hospital has shut down already, because doctors have no supplies and no choice but to let the wounded die. They're calling it a collapse but the term doesn't do it justice.
Over a 100 incubator babies are at risk. There are 50.000 pregnant women in Gaza right now, and 5.500 due to give birth this month. Menstruating people are taking pills in order to stop their periods, because they do not have pads or water to maintain hygiene. Surgeons are operating without anesthesia. Water is not reaching Gazans because there's no electricity or fuel for water pumps.
There's no excuse for this. Israel justifies the airstrikes by saying they want to destroy Hamas infrastructure and release the hostages, but they have refused to negotiate for their release. Hamas informed Israel they wanted to release two elderly women without anything in return, and Israel refused. Netanyahu said they wouldn't take their own civilians back because it was "mendacious propaganda." When the hostages were finally released, Netanyahu prohibited the hospital from giving press releases. Yocheved Lifshitz went behind their backs and talked to the press anyway, saying she was treated very well by Hamas, but the government abandoned them. They're being used as straw men. Israel is conditioning the entry of fuel to the release of hostages and yet, according to The Wall Street Journal, when Hamas proposed to exchange 50 hostages for fuel they denied. IDF officials have said they fear the release of more hostages because that might withhold the order to their ground invasion. They do not care as long as they can use the hostages as a pretext for their slaughtering.
There's a turning tide for Palestine in public support. Support for Israel was built through decades of propaganda and we are making a dent into it. Zionists are desperate, holding zoom meetings to promote zionism, but we have to do so much more. We have to shame people in power into supporting the Palestinian cause.
Keep yourself updated and share Palestinian voices, looking to inform yourself from the sources. Palestinians have asked of us only that we share, tweet and post, over and over. Muna El-Kurd said every tweet is like a treasure to them, because their voices are repressed on social media and even on this very app. Make it your action item to share something about the Palestinian plight everyday. Here are some resources:
Al Jazeera
Anadolu Agency
Mondoweiss
Boycott Divest Sanction Movement
Palestinian Youth Movement
Mohammed El-Kurd (twitter / instagram)
Al-Shabaka (twitter / instagram)
Mariam Barghouti (twitter / instagram)
Muhammad Shehada (twitter)
Motaz Azaiza (instagram) - reporting directly from Gaza
Take action. You can participate in boycotts wherever you are in the world, through BDS guidelines. Right now, they are focusing on boycotting (don't be overwhelmed by gigantic boycott lists. Only boycott additional brands if you can):
Carrefour
HP
Puma
Sabra
Sodastream
Ahava cosmetics
Israeli fruits and vegetables
Push for a cultural boycott - pressure your favorite artist to speak out on Palestine and cancel any upcoming performances on occupied territory (Lorde cancelled her gig in Israel because of this. It works.)
If you can, participate in direct action or donate. Palestine Action works to shut down Israeli weapons factories in the UK and USA, and have successfully shut down one of their firms in London. Some of the activists are going on trial and are calling for mobilizing on court.
Call your representatives. The Labour Party in the UK had an emergency meeting after several councilors threatened to resign if they didn't condemn Israeli war crimes. Calling to show your complaints works, even more if you live in a country that funds genocide.
