In fact with every step towards the gates of Mordor Frodo felt the Ring on its chain about his neck grow more burdensome. He was now beginning to feel it as an actual weight dragging him earthwards. But far more he was troubled by the Eye: so he called it to himself. It was that more than the drag of the Ring that made him cower and stoop as he walked. The Eye: that horrible growing sense of a hostile will that strove with great power to pierce all shadows of cloud, and earth, and flesh, and to see you: to pin you under its deadly gaze, naked, immovable.

Propaganda
Legolas Greenleaf, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (2001-2003) Portrayed by: Orlando Bloom Defeated Opponents: - Shah Ala Ad Daula [Olivier Martinez], The Physician (2013) - Balian de Ibelin [Orlando Bloom], Kingdom of Heaven (2005)
“Perfect hair, perfect skin, perfect cheekbones - he's just the perfect elf! And he's so good at pointing out obvious stuff and killing big oliphants. It takes skill to be a himbo in a world where all elves are inherently wise!”
Fili, The Hobbit Trilogy (2012-2014) Portrayed by: Dean O'Gorman Defeated Opponents: - Renly Baratheon [Gethin Anthony], Game of Thrones (2011-2019) - Osferth [Ewan Mitchell], The Last Kingdom (2015-2022)
“Gorgeous lion haired prince. So brave and loyal. I love him.”
Additional Propaganda Under the Cut
Additional Propaganda
For Legolas:
“Elves are already the prettiest, but I love that the movies decided that the Mirkwood elves are the prettiest of the prettiest. And on top of that Legolas is a little weirdo, which just makes it even better.”
(+ Bonus Aragorn and Gimli)
For Fili:
“He's not just any dwarf.. he's a Hot DwarfTM”
“He is faithful, has an abundance of knives, and died too soon.”

Sometimes you think a man is gay but it turns out he is just nice. Sometimes you think a man is nice but he’s actually just wearing glasses. It’s complicated

"you're the writer, you control how the story goes" no not really. i wrote the first sentence and then my characters said "WE WILL TAKE IT FROM HERE" and promptly swerved into an electrical fence.

Independent journalist Ken Klippenstein got Luigi Mangione’s manifesto and shared it un-edited on his substack. He did it while no mass media outlet would do anything but allude to it. Stresses the importance and value of independent journalism. You can read it here at Ken’s substack or below under the cut.
“To the Feds, I'll keep this short, because I do respect what you do for our country. To save you a lengthy investigation, I state plainly that I wasn't working with anyone. This was fairly trivial: some elementary social engineering, basic CAD, a lot of patience. The spiral notebook, if present, has some straggling notes and To Do lists that illuminate the gist of it. My tech is pretty locked down because I work in engineering so probably not much info there. I do apologize for any strife of traumas but it had to be done. Frankly, these parasites simply had it coming. A reminder: the US has the #1 most expensive healthcare system in the world, yet we rank roughly #42 in life expectancy. United is the [indecipherable] largest company in the US by market cap, behind only Apple, Google, Walmart. It has grown and grown, but as our life expectancy? No the reality is, these [indecipherable] have simply gotten too powerful, and they continue to abuse our country for immense profit because the American public has allwed them to get away with it. Obviously the problem is more complex, but I do not have space, and frankly I do not pretend to be the most qualified person to lay out the full argument. But many have illuminated the corruption and greed (e.g.: Rosenthal, Moore), decades ago and the problems simply remain. It is not an issue of awareness at this point, but clearly power games at play. Evidently I am the first to face it with such brutal honesty.”

GROND! GROND! GROND!
tolkien fans are insufferable because you'll agree to watch the movies with them and then seven hours in they'll say "omg my favourite character is about to appear!" and it's a fucking siege weapon
