Hello! Sorry, I've been AWOL, but I've not been well enough to post + I've been coming to terms with some diagnoses.😿But, catching up with new makeup collections is a good distraction! 😺So, here's two lipsticks from the Dior Fall 2017 collection: 'Metallics.' The lightest shades in the collection, both have a creamy, semi-matte finish (they may say matte, but they were so moisturising, I wouldn't describe them as completely matte - especially 481 Hypnotic Matte). 426 Sensual Matte: (left-hand side of the swatches + bottom 2 lips) is a nudish pinky-coral. It was slightly thicker & tackier in texture than 481 but surprisingly didn't last as long because it didn't go on AS smoothly. You can see around the centre of my lips where it had already started to come away before I had taken the picture - I applied the lipstick & went straight to the mirror - & it continues to fade this fast. 481 Hypnotic Matte: (right-hand side of the swatches + top 2 lips) is a very dark pink, with mauve tones mixed in. It was much smoother than the previous shade, with a perfect consistency that wasn't too thick, but still very generous compared to other lipsticks. It went on precisely & easily, for a super even finish that made my lips look naturally bigger, but still perfectly shaped. It almost felt like the lipstick was melting into my lips, it sunk in that much & absorbed more like you'd expect a tint. It's a shame 426 didn't apply as well or absorb as much as 481 did because I liked 426 more. But, 481 looked much better on the lips when it came to texture etc - it's a shame we couldn't combine attributes! A primer or top coat would help 426 last, or even using the new #Dior Lip Tattoos first. Hoping to be back on track with posting more! Here's some snaps from the Dior 2017 Fall Metallics collection. I've got a little bit of almost everything from the collection here, the only product I'm missing is their new Bold Brows eyebrow gel - available in 3 shades, which I do really want to try out. Every brand seems to be going eyebrows crazy, at the moment! I've swatched & taken pics of the new Chanel eyebrow bits - including a product from their Fall collection - & am super excited over Burberry's new eyebrow launch! There are certainly some fantastic & innovated products coming out this fall. 😻 This collection also has 4 more Dior Rouge Lipsticks, 2 nail laquers & outside of the UK another eyeshadow palette, 1-2 DiorBlush contour sticks, as well as 3-4 more Metalizers. Swipe through my snaps of the new, & may I say breathtaking, 2017 Ysl Mon Paris Plumetis Couture Palette - also know as #MonParisCouturePalette 2.0. Just to clarify this is not the same Mon Paris Palette that was released in 2016 - for those of you who haven't seen, I've posted a comparison review between the 2 #MonParisPalette just before this post. I'm so in love with this palette. It's one of my favourite ever eyeshadow palettes, let alone fave #ysleyeshadowpalette The colours are so vivid & strong, but the finish they give is what really makes this a must have set for 2017. With #metallic shades being so 'in' right now, this is a great bargain cause you get 3 completely different ones, in one set. On top of that you have your #matte shade & #satin At £42.50/€60/$60 it is great value for me cause I rarely go through an #eyeshadow all the way to the end, so these sizes are perfect & you get all 3 of the main finishes out there, right now. All the shades were ones I was looking to buy from Chanel's new #eyeshadows & whilst I love their new ones, at £25 for a tub I won't finish, I much prefer to buy this set that comes with all 3 finishes they offer, as well as a range of shades. Oh & they're just as high standard as the Chanel eyeshadows. You can see in the swatches how good the pigmentation is & they come out almost the exact same as they look in the pan - I've not seen that in ages. They're super soft & silky, without being crumbly or dusty + they're easy to use, blendable, smudgeable & long lasting. In the photos, Kathy (my boyfriends, lovely sister) is wearing some eyeshadows from this palette; they didn't budge for 7+ hours, before removing them. This was at a party, during the super hot July weather, in a windowless hall, where she was doing a lot of dancing! I can't recommend this palette enough & have no complaints with it. Hello all my beautiful Kitty's. Sorry for the break in posts, I've still been dealing with a bad flair up. Ive managed to get all the photos done, but the hardest part is writing each post cause if my heads not straight it can be surprisingly challenging! As an apology, I've got lots of photos of limited edition makeup & up coming products, from the fall collections! I'll warn you now - be prepared to be excited & loosen those purse strings, this fall! The metallic phase is in full swing, with many of the major brands bringing out metallic products & #Chanel, #Dior & #YSL focusing their collections completely on the metal look. Whilst brands such as #Guerlain #Smashbox & #UrbanDecay continue to add metallic themed pieces. I have both Chanel & Dior #fall2017makeup collection pieces to show you - in fact I nearly have the entire upcoming #diorfall2017 collection. For now, I've put together some of my favourite, recently released, makeup pieces. These are products I'd score perfectly, giving 5/5 for each of them! The White Touche Éclat, comes from America & was kindly sent over by my wonderful grandad! 😻I don't know why it's not available in the UK, as its stunning. It's a ivory-silver white, which lights up & camouflages skin better than any other #toucheeclat - easily my favourite to date. I've see a lot of you asking the differences between these 2 #eyeshadow palettes, so I thought I'd show you!😻 When I first clocked the 2017 palette - also known as Mon Paris 2.0 - I fell in love! I was shocked to find this pretty little number in the UK, at #Debenhams & was worried it was going to sell out before I got paid. However, it isn't getting the push the original one did. This is a shame cause it is one of the nicest palettes #YSL have ever released. The 2016 edition seemed to take the internet by storm, when it was released last Spring/Summer. However, I was never really impressed with it. In fact, I had to call on a friend to send me the photos she took of her palette, as I never brought it & couldn't get picture in store. I felt 2016 colours were a bit 'blah.' That's really the main word that comes to mind because I am a pastel & pale shade lover, both of which are included in 2016's, as well as a #shimmery, #smokeyeye lover. However, the colours didn't really 'pop' or grab my attention. 2017's, on the other hand, was a different story. The astounding colours caught my attention right away - how can your eyes not be drawn to such vivid, yet charming & sophisticated hues? The shimmer was also much stronger on the 2017 edition, as you can probably see in the photos. The 2016 palette did have a slight shimmer, which showed up when applied, but it still wasn't that noticeable. I think the colours weren't strong enough to carry the shimmer & ended up being whited out by it, whereas 2017's has similar, but stronger colours, so the shimmer is very bold. YSL replaced the taupe-grey from 2016, with a peachy-pink for 2017 & whilst the centre black was slightly lighter for 2017, it still came out stronger. The ivory white was almost identical, but slightly pinker for 2017. The purple was a much darker plum & the grey was a cleaner, purer tone. Overall, the 2017 palette definitely has a higher pigmentation & the shades are more varied, as well as creamier & smoother. I've kept you waiting long enough, so here is a preview of the new Dior Metalizer eye & lip cream, for the 2017 Fall makeup collection. With a choice of 6 shades, from paler pinky tones, to the darker plum tone you see here, there is a good choice for everyone! With a super creamy & thick consistency, these things are the definition of #PIGMENTED. This means you only need the tiniest & I mean tiniest amount to cover BOTH eyes. For example, the swatches you see on my arm, was too much for both eyes. This is how I ended up covered in the final photo (shade 548 Copper Power) - ignore my awful eyebrows, I was actually on my way to get them done! I took down the amount I had on my eye, but I thought I'd get one of my eyes smothered in it, as it's a good example of how it looks on the eye & how far this product goes! I wouldn't say these are especially easy to use, but I find that with a lot of Dior things because they tend to bring out new products that are 'outside the box thinking.' They just take a bit of getting used to - mainly how much to use & the correct brush. It also dries quite fast & once its dry, it's hard to add any more because this will chip the product away. But, due to the fact that you only need small amounts & it dries much stronger than it applies, I don't think you need loads of time to apply. I tried it on the lips & would recommend a lip balm or primer first, especially for those with dry lips. Obviously, #Dior do a fantastic lip balm & it paired great with the #metalizers when I tried it out. #548CopperPower & #898PlumReflexion were definitely the stand outs from these 3, even though 548 was more pink than copper. #678BronzeTension was a bit of a pain cause when you blend it out it goes a bit too much of a dirty taupe for my liking. So, I'd stick to using it as a heavy eyeliner or for small details. Due out end of July/August, will you be grabbing one of these clever tubes? Hope mummy & nanny are enjoying their night out! Riley is still sleeping away, cuddling Mr. Purple Moo Cow - that is his full name, by the way. So, if anyone has been wondering where I am, you're looking at it! I haven't been able to tear myself away all week! 😻It's been brilliant having Kathy, Charlotte & Riley visiting - even if the heat has been unbearable! Will be sad to see them go, but I'm sure Riley will enjoy going back somewhere cool - as will mummy & nanny. Today was the best day so far, as I got to see my twin godchildren & twin cousins. Wish I could have seen my other lovely Godchild, but sadly messaging networks put a stop to that! I have also been suffering from a bad flare up - my endometriosis 😿- which I'll talk about on my next post, where I've go even more photos of the little cutie you see here - & maybe I can slip some makeup promos in there, so you can see what's coming up 🙀! Hopefully my aim to make all my Poorly Pretty Kitty's smile - & even those who are perfectly healthy - will be achieved by adorable baby photos & makeup. Here's some snaps from one of the latest Dior makeup collections! The big focus for #Dior recently, has been their wonderful, new, Pump 'N' Volume #mascara, which I previously #reviewed & raved about. However, along with the mascara Dior brought out other fab pieces, which have unfortunately been overshadowed by the game-changing mascara. So, I've finally got round to snapping some pictures of the new, completely remastered 5 Couleurs #eyeshadow palettes & Diorshow #Khol #Waterproof #eyeliner pencils, which have been reinvented so that they bring your more intensity - which they certainly do! Not only do they have a more vivid, highly pigmented, colour pay off - even the paler shades, such as 529 Beige Khol - but they are much softer, with a silky feel & they've lasted longer on me than the previous ranges. The kohl eyeliner in particular are showing a softer side, so they glide on perfectly, with a fantastic, creamy feel that is little reminiscent of stick foundations/concealers. One thing that helps them stand out, is the lovely, shimmery, undertone. Step in the sunlight & you'll sparkle! I'm in ❤️ with 529 Beige Khol, which is more pink than beige & looks great with pretty much any other shades, to give you that wide eyed, Bambi look! One of my favourites so far. With a total of 8 new eyeshadow palettes & 3 new kohl eyeliners, there is certain to be something for everyone! This is the kind of friend all #poorlyprettykittys need! A HUGE thank you to my amazing, kindred spirit & fellow Poorly Pretty Kitty, @loobylouface - this made my day! Was perfect timing, as wasn't in a good space. You even made me cry! Been trying to get a pic for a few days now, but this weather held me up. Spent most of yesterday (18th) laying semi-conscious on my bed. Sat up in bed for a few hours in the afternoon, then laid back down until midnight. Had a salad at 3am! 🙀Haven't been able to sleep since - though getting #tired now. Has anyone else been suffering with the #heat & found it worse cause of their #chronicillness? I found face sprays help a lot! Try to avoid rubbing your face a lot with #wipes - trust me, it makes them #sore after a while & even hotter, as you'll start to get a burning sensation! Plus, if you suffer from #dryskin, either normally or due to the heat (like me!) & rely on your #moisturiser to save you, this will reverse the effects, making things 10x worse. Instead, try patting cotton wool, soaked in things such as #cucumberwater, #rosewater & lukewarm/slightly cool water with a drop of Johnson's #lavender or #camomile baby body wash/bubble bath (don't forget to rinse off!) Even water on its own is an okay last resort, but whatever you do, don't use freezing cold water! It will be too hash & shocking to your #skin, once again being counterintuitive & drying it out. Once you're done, make sure to top up your skin with a little moisturiser, #serum, dry skin oil or even things like #sudocream if your skin is starting to #breakout, become flakey & really dried out. Believe it or not, running cool water over your wrists &/or washing your hands, is one of the best ways to cool down! The deadline is tomorrow & all the parents want is to take this little baby, Charlie, to the USA to get treatment that has saved other children in his condition, but they are being denied by GOSH due to illogical reasons. If they get denied then Charlie's life support will be turned off in a little over 24 hours time. If you ever follow one of my posts, please follow this & share it. 2 new, fab #summer products from #BenefitCosmetics - 3, including Hoola Lite, just keep swiping for pics! I previously reviewed #hoolalite on here, so check it out! #Dandelion Twinkle - RRP £24.50: 1st, the name, I love it! It's so cute & quickly describes what you can expect from the product - the perfect name for a #highlighter! 2nd, packaging. Again it gives you an idea of what you can find underneath the flap, unlike the previous Dandelion. It's so inviting that if you weren't already familiar with the product it would grab your attention right away! 3rd, the pearly, champaign-pink powder, is as perfect as the name/packaging. It's quite a subtle highlighter, but definitely noticeable, especially when the light catches the shimmer aspect. #Hoola Quickie Contour Stick £23.50: 1st, I'm not normally a fan of the gold packaging, but #Benefit makes it work. It suits the #bronzer & the tropical theme gives a fun twist - again, something that would invite newbies. 2nd, it's a soft, creamy texture, meaning feels lovely & is incredibly blendable, but a bit difficult to house in this weather. Unfortunately, my Hoola stick turned up slightly melted, with little beads of humidity on it. So, I've started keeping it in the fridge, towards the front & taking it out 10 mins before I use it. Make sure to press lightly when you are applying it so you don't get too much out. 3rd: It's not as dark as I expected & actually worked well with my pale skin. It's closer to Hoola lite, with pale brown-beige tones (you can really see these in direct light), but with some of the golden bronze tones that original Hoola had. Lovin' these new blush sticks from Chanel - just released for the summer Les Beiges 2017 collection, they're a perfect edition to Chanel's new cushion foundation! These are very similar colours to two of the blush sticks released in the 2015 Les Beige collection, but these can be used sheer. It's quite clever, as these don't apply that sheer at first, but once you blend them down you are left with a slight coloured tint, light sheen & trail of glitter. It's hard to see, but I blended out some of each blush, on the far left-hand side of each photo. I wanted to show just how much it can be blended down. (They showed up slightly more in person.) Though they're a bit pricey (price at the bottom) it's a good investments, as they're multi-use products. You can create different effects - such as the natural glow & sparkle effect, describe above, or a more traditional blush look, which shows up more of the colour . It's up to you how much you blend them down & they can be layered! In the photos, I layered each of the wide, non-blended swatches at the top of each swatch. Plus, you don't have to limit these to just your cheeks. Try using them as you would highlighters & apply them anywhere you want a sparkly glow! Just make sure to blend them down so you don't get an orange nose! 😸 At first, these left a horrible, gritty feeling, but, after using them a couple times this feeling seems to have vanished 100%. I don't know if it was just an odd top layer, but I've got no problem with them now! Excited Kitty, here! My products from America turned up over the weekend - sadly a flair-up meant that I couldn't get them out right away, but, this morning, I've managed to snap some photos! A HUGE thanks to my grandad for both the Caticorn duvet set he brought me during his visit from the USA, when we went shopping & for sending over the #YSL products over! Unfortunately, they didn't arrive in time for my grandad to bring with him, due to the fact YSL'S system cancelled my order a day before it was due to arrive & didn't let me know - I'd even paid for 2 day shipping, so it'd arrive in time. Despite this, I have to give a personal shout out to @yslbeauty thanking them for their fantastic USA customer service team. They managed to salvage my cancelled order, send it out & comp the entire amount! So, in the end I might have had to wait a little longer & my grandad had to go to more trouble to get the items over to me, but it worked out to a really great deal, plus I had some extra money for our shopping trip. 😻 I can't help but feel if that a lot of other companies over here in the UK should take note of how to correct their mistakes - saying that, a similar problem happened with a Sephora order in the states & they did nothing to reconcile it! So, I've not ordered from them since! Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Gel Touch foundation has quickly become my must have, summer product. One big reason was the SPF of 25/PA+++. Great for those days where you only need light protection or didn't expect to get trapped in the sun. REMEMBER - even if there's cloud coverage, this doesn't mean your protected from sun exposure. It's also perfect for summer because: The perfect consistency, similar to the bottled Les Beige foundation, but with more of a gel/jelly type smoothness & weight, is a water-based formula, which gives it a non-greasy, feather light feel that is sooo refreshing on the skin. It's surprisingly powerful & you don't need tons of it to achieve the breathtaking results. Yet, it can still be layered on those extra areas that need a bit more coverage. It reduces shine, but still gives a 'lit from within glow.' I like using the sponge to pat down the foundation at the end &/or apply small amounts in specific areas to reduce shine - aka my t-zone! It has the best shade range for cushion foundations. A lot of brands reduced their shade range for cushion foundations, but not #Chanel. You can still find those great in between shades, where the only thing that changes is the tone I.E. a neutral or pink, tone. I'm normally the palest shade there is, but have natural pink tones to my skin. So, when I tested out both shade 10 & 12, I actually found shade 10 came up darker on my skin & didn't blend as well - this was no fault of the foundation, which is highly blendable, shade 10 just didn't have the pink undertones that shade 12 Rosé did. So, bare this in mind when selecting a shade because 10 might not necessarily be the lightest for you! So, there is no chance of you being weighed down this summer, with the handbag friendly, cushion foundation from Chanel. More snaps of the new, fabulous, Be Legendary Liquid Metal & Pigment lipsticks, by Smashbox. These swatches aren't blended out like the previous post - I thought I had already posted this photo, so apologies for the wrong order! Let's recap why I love these so much: There's 8 shades in each collection - though America have an extra, limited edition shade (Brains & Bronze, a metallic bronze shade). They're super easy to apply - using just the applicator. You get the perfect amount on the applicator, without having to dip the wand back in. Such strong shades that all shown up and make a huge impact. The staying power was incredible. After wiping the product off with a baby wipe, 3 times, it still looked like I had a lip tint on. Incredibly hydrating. Gives lips a defined, plump, look and can pull focus like very few other lip products. It's rare I get so many shades from one lip collection, but for me these were so different to anything else I've ever tried. Yes, I know brands are really getting in to the metal lipsticks, but I love the fact that these have the gorgeous hybrid formula of lipstick (for the consistency) meets gloss (for the shine). The consistency reminded me a lot of the YSL Kiss & Blush bottles (not the stick version). It wasn't quite a mousse, but it was thicker/heavier than other liquid lipsticks I've used. In fact I think some of these would make good blushers & I hope Smashbox considers making some, or going totally YSL and creating a 2 in 1, lip and blush, product. These are easily some of the best products to come out of Smashbox.
