Misery

While there's plenty of knit in this movie, I was pleasantly surprised at all the crochet popping up as soon as we see the rest of the house. Around 50 minutes, in, there's a granny square pillow cover, as well as a granny-stitch blanket in annie's study

During the dinner scene, we get another view of the room, which shows us a beautiful crochet lace runner over a hutch displaying various knicknacks

Later on, we see a little doily underneath what look like vinyl records elsewhere in the study as well..

In another room, we also get a lovely doily under a lamp, which was practically a requirement for any house before the turn of the century

Around 90 minutes in when the sherrif is looking around the house, we also get a quick glance of a rainbow lamp-cover-thing in a bedroom, and yet another lace runner in a blink-and-you'll-miss-it view of a toy pig.

And right near the end, we get a closeup of a lovely blue doily to hold Paul's "celebratory" cigarette and matchstick.

Lisa Frankenstein

This green and white blanket makes an appearance at about 1 hour and 4 minutes into the film in Lisa's closet. It looks like it was made with shell or granny stitches and a thick yarn, though as always, my eyesight isn't quite good enough to say for sure. A delightful little find in one of my new favorite movies!

30 Days of Night

A thick crochet blanket can be seen in the attic where our heroes have been hiding out. It looks to be a a quilt made up of granny stitches, with a granny stitch border going around it, and it looks very cozy.

We get a quick glimpse of another blanket in the attic later on in the film made of different colored squares, but it's too blurry for me to make out the stitches.

Around 40 minutes into the film we get a closeup of a lace hem on a nightgown. It's possible this is actually machine lace, so someone with better eyes might want to weigh in and let me know, but I think it's crochet from what i can tell

Here are a few more shots later on, though it was hard to get a clean image. Some parts of the screencaps are blocked out due to realistic prop blood

The Conjuring

About 20 minutes into the movie, we see this blanket, which looks like a mix of granny squares and double-crochet stitches, but then never see it again. I did in fact spend the entire rest of the movie looking for it, why do you ask?

I can't see this one clearly enough, so it may not be crochet, but it looks like the shawl is made with a mix of chains and other stitches to make a lacey pattern

This is another one I can't see clearly enough, so it may be knitted, but there's a ton of throw blankets around the house that make it look like the main characters have a family member who has too much yarn in her home on any given day

sooner or later i gotta make a blog that's just crochet blankets in movie backgrounds lol. i get too excited whenever i see one. anyway this blanket pops up in renfield's apartment in the movie renfield :)

there’s two crocheted items in tonight’s wwdits episode and i had to pause and yell about both of them when they showed up on screen. forgive my dark screenshots, i use my dimmer liberally

The first is a granny stitch blanket in sean’s hunting lodge – a very simple project that builds up quickly, and a staple in all rustic/cottage/homey set design.

And second is Abuela’s sweater – looks like an alternating treble stitch-chain one-repeat with a waffle stitch on the hem. I could be wrong, my eyes aren’t the best, so if anyone has a better idea let me know :)
