Carne Adovada Recipe (Plant Based!)
ÂĄHola Amigos! Today we are doing a Plant Based version of one of my favorite New Mexican dishes! Carne Adovada 𤤠Traditionally called ADOBADA which translates to âMarinatedâ this recipe normally calls for slow cooked pork marinated in red Chile & spices. Recipes for Non Dairy Cheeses and other simple Plant Based meals ! Â

  For the Plant Based recipe, all you need is a couple cans of Jack Fruit pieces in Brine, and some #RedChile. We are using local red chile powder from Bueno Foods, & canned Jack Fruit pieces from Trader Joe's ! These cans of jack fruit only cost $1.99 a pop ! Be sure to get jack fruit pieces in brine, this makes for the best shredded âMeatâ substitute, but the Chile is really what makes this recipe. With the right seasoning and a little touch of tradition, you can make this recipe right at home !Â

Start by heating a skillet on medium and letâs add one can of jack fruit WITH the brine to your skillet, and one can of jack fruit WITHOUT the brine (2 Cans of jack fruit pieces, 1 can of brine) Simmer your jack fruit on med for about 10 minutes.Â

Once you have a nice simmer going, we are ready to incorporate our red Chile powder, or a pre-made purĂŠe of your choice. We are using about 1/4 cup of Chile, you can add more to flavor, i always say the more chile, the better the adobada. Here is where we will begin to shred our jack fruit pieces into the red Chile. Using a couple of forks really makes this process easier.Â

For flavor, we season our âCarneâ adovada with 1 TBSP Salt, 1 TBSP Garlic Powder, 1 TBSP Onion Powder, a Pinch of Cumin, and 1 TSP Smoked Paprika I also like to use a splash of Worcester sauce to flavor any of my plant based âMeatsâ , works really well to create a nice smokey meat flavor that most of us are looking for in a good meat substitute. Serve with a bowl of beans, or roll into a breakfast burrito just like an authentic New Mexican restaurant. Here we have some plant based Jack Fruit âCarneâ Adovada snuggled up in a non cholesterol Flour tortilla, with some fried papas and ..... Non Dairy Cheese for the win! This tastes just like home ! Cold & Flu Symptoms ?
The use of drugs(synthetic chemicals) to suppress symptoms of illness I.e. cough, fever, runny nose, sore throat, mucus congestion etc., is kind of like disconnecting your car's battery to turn off the Check Engine light. Or maybe like turning up your stereo to suppress the sound of that knocking in your motor only, using drugs introduces foreign matter (toxins) in to the already compromised system. These toxins will remain in your blood for decades, even after your cold like symptoms are long gone. It takes years of natural compensation(Clean Eating) to eliminate synthetic chemicals from your body. The only way to purify the body completely is to fuel (Feed) it according to its design. Best to avoid drugs all together; I would recommend turning to natural remedies for any and all essential healing nutrients ,minerals etc. (Fruits, Herbs) necessary for treating the source of your symptoms. Most times these crisis are necessary for your body to eliminate toxins. These are symptoms of a functioning metabolic and lymphatic system attempting to rid or eliminate toxins from your body. You do not want to suppress this process. You want to get that waste out of your body, this is imperative! When you get a fever, that is literally metabolic friction, waste being moved through your body to eliminating organs. Though it sucks, you kind of want the runny nose, the cough, the fever to occur if you have toxins inside your body. This means your body is fighting stagnation, or what modern medicine calls chronic "dis-ease".

Keto ?
The Keto Diet (Ketosis) a diet that promotes the idea of maintaining raised levels of ketone bodies in body tissues, changing the state of your metabolism to utilize or burn fat instead of carbohydrates . Typically pathological in conditions such as diabetes, ketosis can also occur in people who follow a diet that is very low in carbohydrates, high in fats, and protein rich which will cause inflammation in the body. Inflammation is the byproduct of acidosis, and we all know that acidosis will cause long term health issues in Humans. The only reason most people end up on this diet is to desperately lose weight. The rest are just following the latest diet trend thatâs in the Media, or going around the gym, ignorant to the fact that acidosis causes mucus, and mucus is what causes dis-ease in the body.
Remember how popular the ATKINS diet was in the 90's? One of the biggest trends to hit the diet scene, people were losing weight , Mr. Atkins was making millions. That is until people started experiencing major health issues from the diet, like heart attacks, high blood pressure, even death. Many peoples doctors advised them to quit the Atkins diet immediately. That's because the Atkins diet was promoting high fat, low carb, animal protein rich diets, just like the Keto Diet. Many of us know that proteins are inflammatory, and many experts will tell you that the Atkins diet is deadly. I have a feeling that this Keto trend is the new Atkins Diet.
Now, I can think of at least 10 other ways to lose weight without taking the extreme measure of changing the natural state of your metabolism & the way it naturally functions, which is exactly what the Keto diet does; Changes the natural state of your metabolism to function Unnaturally. Thatâs not the goal. The goal is to BE healthy, and to lead a healthy lifestyle, everyday !
So the next time you are thinking about dieting, ask yourself ....
"Is the Keto diet really for me ?" and if you answer "NO" to any of the following questions, KETO may not be for you.
1. Do I fully understand what "Ketosis" and "Acidosis" are ?
2. Do I want my body to be in an Acidic State ?
3. Am I ok with going Unnatural ?
4. Is losing weight today, worth risking my health tomorrow?
5. Do I lack the strength, self-discipline, and determination to get healthy on my own without extreme measures ?
6. Am i only concerned with looking skinny, and not actually being healthy ?

The BEST Plant Based Banana Nut Bread !
Dry Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
Mix dry ingredients in a bowl and
In separate bowl mix wet ingredients
Wet Ingredients:
2 frozen bananas
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 oz water
1/3 melted coconut oil
Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix making sure to mash bananas. Add berries if desired and walnuts!
After spraying with plant based non-stick cooking spray, pour mixed ingredients into a bread pan or muffin pan.
Preheat oven to 350 and bake for 40-45 minutes.

Cowâs Milk ? (Dairy)
Many people believe that animals are the best source for essential nutrients, minerals, proteins, fats etc. but don't be misinformed! You can get all of the above from PLANTS ! As a matter of fact, most of the nutrients we get from an animal, is essentially Recycled from the Plants they ate!Â
(After much Research) One of the first things I cut out of my diet when I started on my journey to a better quality of life, was Cows Milk (Dairy) ! If you are having trouble figuring out where to start on your journey, I might suggest start by cutting Cows Milk out of your diet. Cows milk is not only highly Acidic and Mucus forming in humans, it is also full of hormones, antibiotics and even pus. Milk is essentially animal cells; Our bodies are not properly designed to fully break down cows milk, and some people may even have a Complete Intolerance for the stuff đłÂ
Besides vitamin D (which naturally comes from the sunâs light) Calcium is one of peopleâs biggest concerns when it comes to cutting out Dairy. ALKALINITY vs. ACIDITY
PH (Potential Hydrogen) is a system used to measure levels of Acidity/Alkalinity in water soluble substances. Being that Humans are made up of about 70% water, PH is a very effective way to measure and regulate the overall quality of metabolic bodily functions in Humans, which is crucial to our Vitality.

The PH scale measures Acidity and Alkalinity on a range from 0 to 14, with 7 (Tap Water) being neutral right in the middle. The lower 0-6 range being Acidic mucus forming (Pork, Vinegar, Beef, Soda, Pasta, Coffee, Milk) and the higher 7-14 range being Alkaline mucus fighting (Spinach, Cucumbers, Lemons, Grapes, Carrots, Mangos, Avocados, Melons).
 Human beings have a blood type that should always remain balanced right between 7 and 8 on the PH scale to maintain optimal health & performance. Once you allow the PH in your blood to start ranging below 7, your body will start to become Acidic (Metabolic Acidosis) and will generate excess amounts of âMucusâ throughout your body to neutralize that acidity. Itâs a natural defense response by your body, similar to the way you sweat when your body gets hot. Have you ever noticed when you get sick that you become congested in your Lungs, Chest, and Head ? Youâre nose starts running, your lungs and throat may feel irritated, maybe even a cough. That is Mucus being released by mucus membranes inside of your body in a natural effort to protect you from Acidity. If human blood becomes completely Acidic, death is Certain.
âMany people donât realize that illness is more often than not, simply just a Reaction, and is surely preventable.â
Once Mucus starts forming in your body, your body will work to eliminate that mucus out through any eliminating organ available. (Liver, Kidneys, Lungs, Intestines, Skin). Over time, this mucus will cause Stagnation or âConstipation��� in those certain areas of your body where elimination is taking place, mainly your Filtering systems (Kidneys, Liver, Lymphatic, Immune) All of these systems in your body are designed to flush out Toxins to keep your engine running smoothly. Just like a motor vehicle, you must maintain these functioning parts to avoid corrosion, and ultimately serious malfunction.

 When we constantly put our body in an Acidic environment by consuming Mucus forming foods, we begin to create Stagnation or Constipation (Mucus Build Up, or Blockage) throughout the body, and that is when we start experiencing complications in Health: Dis-ease, illness, cancer, even what are known as âGlobulationsâ a term used for Growths or mucus build up also known as Tumors, Cysts, etc.
When you get sick, experience dis-ease, tumors, pimples, hair loss, even joint problems or digestive issues, these are all reactions of what you are exposing your body to on the interior, and exterior. These are all signs that your body is becoming acidic, and is attempting to flush out Toxins that have entered, or have generated inside of your body.
âIf you are sick, the last thing you want to do is eat mucus forming foods; Eggs, cheese, coffee. I would suggest a good 16 hour Fast, or a strict Alkaline diet for 48 hours. A lot of lemons and limes, cucumbers are good too.â
The absolute best way to avoid Mucus build up, Stagnation, and Dis-ease in your body is to always try to keep the PH in your blood balanced more toward the Alkaline side of the spectrum. The best thhing you can do to achieve this is to avoid eating Acidic foods as much as possible, and try to incorporate more Alkaline foods into your daily eating habits.

They say ideally that humans should be consuming a balanced diet of less than 20% Acidic Foods, and 80% Alkaline foods, but personally I recommend a Whole Foods, Plant Based Diet to everyone I work with because of the endless benefits you will experience internally and externally. From better digestion & colon health, optimal circulation and heart health, clearer skin, healthier hair and nails, even mental clarity, improved mood, and confidence! All just from avoiding mucus forming foods.
There was once a brilliant doctor named Arnold Ehret who came up with the âEquation of Lifeâ V=P-O (Vitality=Power-Obstruction) Vitality being life, Power being health, and Obstruction being Mucus Constipation.
What if I told you that YOU have all of the resources necessary to take complete control of your own health, never get sick, and almost completely eliminate your medical dependencies with your doctor? With better choices, self-discipline, and more control, you can achieve complete Vitality on your own.
A Plant Based diet is the ideal diet for Homo Sapiens, comprised almost entirely of foods that are Non Mucus Forming, and foods that promote Alkalinity & Neutralize acidity ! Another VERY effective way to Detox your body and regenerate damaged cells, is by allowing your body to completely empty itself out or whatâs known as âFastingâ! Today , on Plant Based NM, we are going to show you a recipe for a Good homemade Ranch Dressing, that contains absolutely NO DAIRY ! This is great for those cauliflower buffalo wing lovers, and if youâre anything like me, I enjoy a little ranch dressing on my pizza , or even a nice salad. For this recipe , we are going to need some basic ingredients from our spice cabinet, but we are also going to be incorporating some other , not-so-familiar , plant based ingredients that you can find at any local Grocery store!
 Ingredients:Â
 1 ½ Cup of Vegan Mayo
Âź Cup Plant Based Milk ( We are using Rice Milk) UNSWEETENED
 1 ½ TBSP Apple Cider Vinegar
 ½ Tsp of Salt
 ½ Tsp of PepperÂ
1 Tsp Garlic PowderÂ
 1 Tsp Onion PowderÂ
 Pinch or 2 Fresh Chopped Chives !Â
 Mix ingredients in a bowl, slowly introducing your Chives toward the end of this process. Keep refrigerated for up to 3 weeks !

 Pulse for 30 seconds or so in a blender, food processor, or Bullet like we are using today. The final product should be consistent with your standard Pizzaria cheese topping ! Great on Pasta, Pizza, Salad etc.

A little drizzle of raw olive oil once out of the oven makes for a nice touch of Italian flavor to your pizza/crust . The crust is really what makes the pizza :)
