In deaged aus and fanfics who is your favorite character to play the caretaker role?

gyomei, since he’s the designated parent, and tengen and sanemi. i’m always a sucker for tengen and sanemi getting to be big brothers again

i also like giyuu being put in caretaker situations purely because i hate how much he gets babied. i dont think he’d be perfect at it but he’d be entertaining

i will say as well…… i like gyomei being in situations where he’s being taken care of and i humbly request more aus and fanfics where he gets the baby treatment. otherwise my faves are muichiro and obanai. emphasis on obanai— poor guy is so traumatized he has memories from being a newborn

what does senjuro think of tiny kyojuro?

( he has a hard time adjusting for a long time, but he loves him no matter what!

What does little Obi think about his food being made by Tengen's wives? Does it scare him that his safe foods are made by women he's not familiar with? Has Tengen tried to reintroduce his wives to little Obi and how did he react?

( it was really difficult for multiple reasons

for one, obanai doesn’t like eating. he also knows the wives don’t like him, so he’s convinced the wives will do exactly what his family did. he doesn’t believe tengen whenever he explains the girls have no intention of harming him

tengen did have to reintroduce obanai to them while the younger boy was regressed, but obanai was so scared and kaburamaru was so defensive, the girls had to leave. this helped them better understand obanai’s trauma and mannerisms, and that kaburamaru’s habit of hissing at them was a result of the snake trying to protect obanai from a “threat”

it isn’t until they get obanai in the habit of watching them cook that he starts to adjust better— he gets the reassurance they aren’t trying to fatten him up or kill him…. Hinatsuru comes in clutch; she’s very open and transparent with obanai, and she acts kindly and motherly to him whenever he’s regressed and struggling. once they form trust, obanai feels safer with the girls, but only Hinatsuru is allowed to make his food!!!

Does little Sanemi understand that technically he's Genyas big brother or does he see Genya as his big brother? Or is it just knows they're brothers?

And has little Sanemi ever tried to show off Genya to the rest of the kids? (Mainly tengen and obanai, especially if Obanai is also regressed and really nervous and shy and clingy to Sanemi)

( he’s well aware Genya is his younger brother and he’s just older atm because of their circumstances! he refuses to call Genya anything other than his “baby brother.” so when he shows him off to everyone, he introduces Genya as “my baby brother” … which ofc is rather comedic when it’s a seven year old talking about his sixteen year old brother

tengen jokingly refers to Genya as “sanemi’s baby brother” instead of his name, since all sanemi does is call him that. when obanai’s mentally small, he has a harder time understanding, which just gives sanemi an excuse to talk about genya over and over again!

was losing so much strength a sudden change, or are all the pillars used to it somehow? I can imagine some of the stronger hashira had to get used to not having so much muscle. Personally if i went from being able to lift tables to barely a chair, it’d take me a while to adjust xD

( gyomei struggled a lot for a while. it was really heartbreaking and scary for him to go from being so giant and powerful to becoming scrawny and weak again. he would have distanced had muichiro and shinobu not instantly clung onto him; he was really scared he would fail the kids like he failed his orphans

Has Tengen ever tried to make all the kids play dress up? (Was this him regressed or just for fun?)

If he has, how did he dress them up and how did they react? (Were they also regressed or just went along with it)

( several times he’s done this— both regressed and not, but when he does it when he isn’t regressed, it’s usually because one of the (regressed) younger ones wanted to play dress up

he usually tries putting them in really glamorous and flamboyant outfits and robes, but most of the kids don’t want anything to do with the fancy outfits, and instead prefer being dressed up like cute animals or having matching things… tengen is always bothered by it (he complains it’s too unflashy), but whatever makes them happy

sanemi hates dress up no matter what, and he gets embarrassed and demands everyone look away. tengen paints a black nose on him and dresses him up like a cute little arctic wolf. when genya saw him and cooed at him, sanemi nearly died of embarrassment

muichiro is always an adorable baby bunny. he gets floppy bunny ears and tengen and the wives helped make him a cute outfit that doubles as pajamas. he matches with yui the rabbit! muichiro’s usually regressed, and he loves the outfit. when he’s big, he’s usually too comfy and sleepy to complain much

gyomei is either a cat or a bear depending on the day. the kids choose for him. his outfit is usually as simple as ears + face paint since he’s too tall for anything specific, but tengen always tries adding a matching scarf or jewelry for him to wear. gyomei’s usually very flustered

obanai only dresses up if mitsuri is, but consequently, he is always a cute little kitty cat. tengen made him a cat tail, ears, and whiskers and everything! he even makes him a mask with a cute cat “:3” face! obanai’s HORRIFIED. but when he’s regressed, he’s very shy, and he likes to hold the plush tail and scratch it with his little hands out of nerves

speaking of mitsuri— she’s always a kitty too. tengen made it so she would match with obanai, and she loves it either way. since she’s so little, she likes to play into her costume and act like a cat, and she sobs her heart out if anyone tells her she’s embarrassing herself, or that she’s being weird ):

giyuu is usually forced into whatever animal’s available. kyojuro also has a ton of options, and he likes to give each animal some love! he definitely prefers being a lion, though. when hes regressed, he will recruit all the other “cats,��� and he is the king lion!

shinobu doesn’t like dressing as an animal, so tengen usually gives her butterfly wings and a makeshift wand and crown. she’s an evil fairy princess who turned everyone into animals (when she gets REALLY into the game, everyone has to act like their designated animal around her) She’s always horrified when she snaps back into her big brain

as for tengen, he does it all. when he’s gotta dress as an animal, he usually goes for a snow tiger or leopard, a dragon, a peacock, or a monkey. it’s embarrassing but he likes making the younger ones laugh and smile! when he’s regressed he eats up all the attention!

You know how Obanai and Sanemi Don't really like tanjiro? Well I was wondering what they think of tanjiro when they are mentally regressed since they now don't have any of the original bias toward him

( they at least tolerate and respect him, though sanemi still can be a bit standoffish. there’s an incident where he was regressed and playing with Genya when Tanjiro came over to greet them, and Sanemi got very jealous and protective. genya had to reassure him tanjiro wasnt going to “take him away” or anything, but sanemi clung to him until he snapped back into his adult mindset and promptly pushed Genya away again

obanai is similar. if he sees Tanjiro talk to Mitsuri he gets visibly upset and distressed, and he tends to stare at Tanjiro whenever he engages with Muichiro. he gets really defensive with him too, but he’s adorable when tanjiro compliments him; he gets all flustered and shy and will hide in Gyomei’s haori or hide behind Kyojuro— whoever’s with him!

Shinobu is like the type of child that would be put in the prettiest outfit and immediately get dirty while collecting creepy crawlies in her pockets (and be really proud of her collection)

( this happens at least once a day 100% . if kanae were there she’d be TIRED

Hii! It's not a question but I want to say that I absolutely LOVE this AU and ur art<33 I also have a headcanon I want to share with you >.<

Do you remember the lullaby Ubuyashiki children were singing in the episode where Muzan came for Oyakata-sama? Obanai heard it once, and later he often hummed it when (he thought) no one was listening, especially to calm himself down when he was nervous.

Why "he thought"? Because I feel like someone might have heard that... maybe Tengen...

( tengen would 100% pick up on how humming helps obanai settle down. it’s hard to hear but tengen always does! so i imagine he figures out the nursery rhyme (or comes up with one of his own based on the rhythm) and surprises an anxious and scared little obanai by singing it to him before bed

since obanai often sleeps in the same bed as one of the older boys, it makes sense tengen would sing to him whenever they share!!

I was wondering, if/when they grow up do they still keep some traits/habits from when they were little? Like, is Giyuu more open and does Muichiro like to be around Gyomei, etc.

( i like to think they do! especially for those who tend to struggle being more vulnerable and open

i can envision giyuu being a bit more social, for instance. sanemi adopts the habit of being more physically affectionate, like ruffling hair or grabbing someone’s shoulder. obanai probably seeks people out more in his own shy little way. things like that!

they all definitely baby muichiro by accident— especially gyomei. consequences of being stuck as a baby for a few months! )

in the au everyone does call them the pint sized pillars, so i like to imagine that as soon as gyomei realizes what the abreviation is, he gets the idea to go “pspspspspspspsp” whenever trying to summon one of the kids LMAOOO
