Hey so about s8, I understand why you enjoyed it and I respect that you saw the good in it, but personally what I REALLY disliked about the whole show was how they treated Lance. Like I felt like he had no definitive arc, he was constantly shown as stupid and in the end his relationship with Allura felt really one sided, like she was only with him for the cuddles and to be able to rant to someone who would always be there for her. And also making him a quiet farmer isn't character development...

i REALLY disliked how they handled lance in this series. i don’t think i would’ve been as annoyed if i didn’t follow the fandom as close as i have for the past 2 years, but i just…really didn’t like it.

at one point during this season i couldn’t stop thinking about how i really didn’t like his character and couldn’t figure out why so suddenly, but it’s just because i think i’ve had an idea of what his character is, but they’ve never really…shown what his character was?? so i guess i got disappointed from getting a lance who’s only characteristic is being a boyfriend of allura and not believing in himself

no they didn’t HAVE TO, but they did, and that’s not bad. the reason why that is better than someone like matt (who hasn’t been on screen a lot anyways) is that it shows selflessness and sacrifice in the main cast as well as growing as a person. allura grew to be someone who was willing to sacrifice her own life for millions of people she didn’t even know, because that’s part of her character. she was selfless and thoughtful, very brave and understanding. if they chose someone like matt it wouldn’t have been as touching since matt was used for pidge’s storyline and wasn’t really an important character afterwards. it might be cheap killing off someone in the main cast, but if they went 8 seasons without anything happening to the main cast, it wouldn’t feel like the chances they took, or the fights they fought meant anything. there are risks to take and you can’t always win, you know.

so about lance and him pining: god i agree, i really didn’t like their apparent slowburn allurance, and i feel like he wasn’t taken serious until after allura started liking him. isn’t this season the most we’ve seen of him? that’s sad.

revracism: ok so it was the galra thing? i knew people were mad about that, but the anon said that it was EVERYWHERE. it wasn’t. i don’t see anything wrong with her being the one racist against galra. she did have her reasons (im not saying racism is justified, but im trying to prove a point fnjsafnje) and she did grow from it. being in a war where your entire race and planet is killed because of one person and his army isn’t weird to hold a grudge. but again, she grew from it and learned her mistakes.

im not sure if im the only one that actually believes when the cast say that adam died as a symbol of scrifice? like i think it was handled POORLY af, also them hyping the fandom up only to kill him off? yikes.

They got an interracial couple on the show and killed off the powerful black girl, a survivor of genocide, and had the reverse racism rhetoric absolutely everywhere, it leaves a bad taste in my mouth, it affected me a lot, the LGBT rep wasn't even handled well, people have genuine reasons to be upset, stop trying to make them feel dillusional

first off, i’d like to tell you that i have not tried to make anyone feel like they’re wrong, ty. i mean, can’t i be simply curious as to why people hate voltron with all their heart??? i literally don’t see anyhting else than hate towards the series all the time.

in my opinion, killing off allura was not a bad decision. she was there right from the start and has always been shown as very helpful to the team and very powerful both as a fighter but also as a person. she wasn’t the typical princess per say, and definitely wasn’t a damsel in distress. i feel like it’s like adam’s death where it’s kind of a symbol to loss in war. But her death was powerful and emotional, unlike adam’s. she wasn’t killed off for no reason either,,,, so i really don’t see the reason to hate the show because of it?? it made sense?? it made her even more powerful??? the universe would not exist without her making that decision??? allura was also the right one to “kill off” since it left huge impact on the whole universe, but also the viewer.

something i personally really dislike is how EVERY detail of the show comes down to rep, rep and rep for the fandom!!! if anything happens to a person part of a minority, it’s racist/sexist/homophobic/etc!! i really don’t get it. im really sorry if i trigger one of yall, but the cast is mainly minorities, anyone would’ve made you angry. people didn’t want shiro dead either since he’s asian, gay and disabled. it would also be kind of weird for no one to died in a series about war.

i feel kind of dumb for not understanding your reverse racism rhetoric comment, but i really can’t remember a moment where something like that happened? maybe i just don’t understand what it means heh

and the lgbt: i understand people being angry about ezor and zethrid, and i understand that people feel queerbaited because of the creators. but looks at ONLY the show, i don’t see the bad rep :)

THANK YOU HOLY SHIT. Voltron is not perfect and I could get into all of that but I don't see why people HATE it down to the very cores of their souls. I'm just glad there's someone else out there who acknowledges any issues but doesn't let them ruin the entire experience of the show for themselves, or others

one of my favorite things was pidge and her family's(mostly her and her mother's) relationship. damn i could totally see myself in her shoes with the "you can get this if i get a picture" "only half a smile"

i really liked this season. i loved those filler episodes too, didn't actually feel like total fillers. i loved the closure we got to each paladin, what they were doing with their lives in the end. although i was like "i have no idea why this is happening, but it looks cool" for most of the time, i enjoyed it!!!! im really happen i didn't speed watch it like i have done with the last seasons. and most importanly, i won't see people shit on voltron all the time anymore. voltron was a great show!!!
