Coming from a place of love and appreciation for both huntlow and lumity, I fucking adore that the straight (“straight”) relationship was relegated to subtext and implication while the queer relationship is just clear, cut-and-dry, explicit on-screen canon. It’s so funny. Because obviously Dana and the crew don’t dislike or resent huntlow like many mainstream showrunners resent queer interpretations of character relationships. It’s done with love for the characters, it’s done tongue-in-cheek, and if we’re being real the blow is softened by how barely below the surface it is. It’s just petty and in good faith and I love it.
