Apollon is there.
When the sixty-something man picks up an instrument, because he never got to learn in his youth and discovered a new passion. He thinks he is too old to learn, but something tells him it is never too late.
Apollon is there.
When the lonely kid at the back of the class doodles on their desk to calm themselves. Their creative world is all they have, and that is okay.
Apollon is there.
When the parents are yelling and fighting, and all their child can do is adjust their headphones and turn the volume higher, hoping to drown it out. It'll be over soon, just focus on the music.
Apollon is there.
When a student pours over the chapter they've been studying for the past week or so, trying to dissect every piece of it. When it finally clicks, and it feels like the world lights up as everything they've read makes sense.
Apollon is there.
In the laughter of the children on a warm summer's day. Their fingers are sticky with the ice cold juice they drank earlier, their shoes are long forgotten for the grass is cool enough. Their lives are ahead of them, but they don't need to worry.
Apollon is there.
In the rage of a father, a mentor, an older brother—on behalf of someone younger that was not able to defend themselves when needed. Something can be done. Something will be done.
Apollon is there.
In the ink of the poet, scribbling down every word furiously. Their mind is full, they must get it all on paper. Their words will not stop. When they close their eyes, all they see is light.
Apollon is there.
In the steady beeping of the monitor, as a patient—old, young, somewhere in between—fights for their life. He is there as they make it, and He is there as they don't.

PLEASE DO NOT USE TIKTOK AS A RESOURCE FOR HELLENIC POLYTHEISM
Tiktok is probably one of THE WORST places to learn about REAL hellenic polytheism because it is rampant with misinformation and most creators are only interested in views and parroting misinformation THEY heard. Yes there are some great and informative creators on there to learn about the hellenic gods but they are far and few in-between.
INSTEAD if you're new to the religion and have no clue where to start researching/learning, here are a few phenomenal creators on here with wonderful and informative posts!
@wisdom-devotee has an amazing guide for starting out in hellenic polytheism
@seasaltdevotion also recently made a fantastic post on resources for starting out
@crazycatsiren has a SUPER long list of resources and research material
@khaire-traveler has possibly the greatest list on subtle deity worship for just about every god
Please actually learn from those of us that truly love and covet this religion and spread information that will truly benefit you.

I need a friend who practices Norse paganism, I want to approach the Norse gods, all I have is a little book with myths that made me buy my professor of Greco-Roman archaeology
#Don't ask me why a professor of Greco-Roman archaeology made me buy a book of Norse myths#He said that he thought I was fit to dig Viking artifacts in Norway#or something like that#witch blog#witchblr#witch#MIC TALK#norse paganism#norse pagan witch#norse gods#norse mythology#norse polytheism#viking

The fact that most of you are upset about the way non-pagans portray our gods in books, movies, etc. just highlights the fact that you are still being brainwashed by Christian/monotheistic beliefs. It doesn't bother you that our gods are being used by people who don't believe in them, it bothers you that they are portrayed with flaws, which is not the case in other religions. Historically, however, this way of portraying gods also happened in ancient Greece and I assure you that practicing pagan religion back then was not all sunshine and roses and birds and hearts. It was very often the case that people were forced to practice this religion, but the myths still existed. You just have to be able to separate the concept of canonical deity from what is actually the fanon portrayal. You can't be upset because... Idk... Zeus in the Percy Jackson books treated Apollo badly. Those are not our Zeus and Apollo. Those are FICTIONAL CHARACTERS. And because of that, you can't get mad because there's a fandom that treats them as such and therefore talks about those characters in a certain way. If you see a post about a retelling where they say, for example, "wow!!! Apollo is so babygurl!!! I love him!!" You can't get mad, they're not talking about Lord Apollo, they're talking about a random character from a random portrayal. Is that fair? Of course not! But, if you want to be historically accurate, gods have always had their flaws and personalities. Our gods don't have the characteristics of the Christian God, they aren't perfect and they've been this way since the dawn of time, as it should be. I'm not saying I condone ALL modern portrayals of gods, absolutely not (in fact if you really want to know I had a mental breakdown after watching "Kaos") but I am saying we're going to have to let this stuff slide. Christians sadly don't take us seriously, when the only unrealistic religion is their own (but I'll probably get into that in another post), and there's nothing we can do about it. The only thing we can do is remember where we come from, what gods we worship, and that what they do or say should not affect us. It is okay to be angry, it is okay to be sad, but logistically speaking, we cannot sabotage a quarter of the world's publishing.
(Also, in this post I'm genuinely assuming that, anyone who practices pagan religion, does it by vocation and not because as children they wanted to be half-bloods and fight against Luke Castellan and that, as a result, I'm talking to people who educate themselves on reliable books and not on tiktok 🙏🏻)
Thank you for your attention, I love you all. If you don't agree with what I said in the post we can talk about it civilly, if you don't think you're able to do that you can block me directly. May the gods bless you🙏🏻🫶🏻

Nazis will never be welcome in paganism. They have no space in our communities, we will have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to nazis. You have no right to the cultures, gods and religions you hijack to spread your disgusting ideologies. You will find no refuge or comraderie amongst pagans.
Reblog to let nazis know they’re not welcome here.

Totally forgot about this post I made, but basically (VERY basically):
The Trojan War actually happened and the kind of society described in the odyssey, a society with a "king" at the head of a "court", actually existed at that time. In addition, some of the names of warriors reported in the Iliad are names of real rulers who have arrived nowadays through clay tablets, vases, cups etc. What we know for sure is that the war did not happen because of the kidnapping of a woman, Troy had basically taken possession of a strait in which all the sea routes passed and imposed exaggerated taxes. It probably also happened that during the various attacks, the various riots etc. the queen of one of the various Achaean kingdoms was kidnapped, this has not mentioned neither denied anywhere, but it was common that the women of the opposite sides were kidnapped, raped and dodged, so it also could be a real event.
Unfortunately, with the fall of the palatial system, many sources of the time were destroyed during some fires, so we are actually not able to reconstruct what actually happened and what was invented, but the stories of Homer are still a good and reliable source to better understand how the various hierarchies and society worked in that period.
Plus excuse me if some sentences don't seem to make sense, English isn't my first language and I'm writing this post in a hurry before I forget about it again. Thank you for the attention, love u all🙏🏻🫶🏻
As an archaeology student, I can say that I don't think Achilles, Odysseus, etc are invented characters, I firmly believe that there is a basis of truth
