4chan used to be trolls trolling trolls and truly novel amusement mixed with edgy horrors, and now it's mostly a Russian playground pushing extremism and brain worms with the occasional amusing or interesting post.

I honestly don't know who's defending what's left of it, especially after the compromise drove the final bastions of interesting people out. It's not what it was, it's worse by every metric.
