Internet Marketing Training Junkies!

When starting out on any new venture, it makes sense to find suitable training, either to get qualified or at least become familiar with the challenges in your quest.

There are certainly no shortages of training programs when it comes to online affiliate marketing. Anyone who has at least considered starting to market online with have purchased at least one training program, and will now be flooded with similar ads on places like Facebook etc. Due to the forwarding advertising now being used in promotions.

I was no exception when I started many years ago and openly admit to owning many programs which I have purchased over the years.

Some Common Problems.

So, why is it, with so much information available, so few people actually become successful online?

The first amazing fact is, the majority of people who purchase a program, do not even open them !.  Some online Training programs cost $1,000s and people buy them, and never use them!!. For me, my personal cause or excuse for not making progress was lack of confidence. I felt I did not have the technical knowledge and didn’t want to make mistakes, lose money, and look foolish. So I bought another course and another and…… I feel, therefore, I am qualified to say that there are good programs available, and some that are simply, rubbish!

The Right Mental Attitude.

As adults, we feel, that we have been through lots of highs and lows in our lives, and therefore is not much we can learn or discover that we can’t work out for ourselves. Plus, if we work it out ourselves we will have more confidence in how to progress. This might just be a “male thing”, I don’t know, but it definitely exists.

There is another problem/trap for “training junkies” in training programs. It is so easy to simply follow everything in the program blindly, without applying individual actions and imagination. I found it amusing that when using a situation in some programs for training purposes only, such as, “go to…” ” click here”… etc, giving step by step instructions, students would copy every step like flocks of sheep!! There are many different methods for successful marketing that it is foolish for everyone to compete on the same course.

What You Will Need.

To get the most from training programs, Here is the “Must Haves”. # You must have Respect for the Knowledge contained in the program. A person who has taken the time, effort, and expense to put together a worthwhile program, know’s what they are doing. Respect and learn from them. # You must be teachable. Why buy a training program and think you know what to do? and try to do it your own way. They will have already been down the path you are trying to tread and found it did not work. Learn from others mistakes. # You Must Take Action. Like me, you can buy, program after program, until you are overwhelmed with knowledge, but, you don’t start seeing rewards until you put it into action. Yes, you will probably make mistakes, but, how else are you going to learn how not to make mistakes until you make them? Take the leap, Take action.

Information Overload.

When you google “online marketing training programs” it comes up with, 618,000,000 results (0.54 seconds) There is so much choice, it is guaranteed to cause confusion and what, in the industry, is called, “information overload“. You will get so bogged down in learning what to do, and confusing bits of advice, you end up doing nothing.

Approach your new life as a marketer as you did when you learnt to swim, (remember that far back)? At first, you were terrified of drowning, once you mastered it, you don’t give it a second thought. ( My apologies for using this analogy to anyone who doesn’t swim. Haha.) but you get my meaning. You must take that first leap before you can even begin to improve. You cannot learn to swim from a book or program!

Revalue in Lockdown.

The lockdown needed to fight this COVID 19 virus is causing a lot of stress to almost everyone. I would like to explain how it is still possible to discover the beauty of the world around us. Anyone who is self-employed will be aware of the extra problems caused, and as this applies to me, I want to talk about an advantage I discovered whilst going through this lockdown period. When working for yourself, no matter what line of business you are in, it is normal practice to set goals and targets that we aim to achieve. We are constantly trying to improve our performance both personally and to improve the business too.

Consequently, we are never satisfied with how things are, and it can almost become an obsession to do more, hit more targets, aim higher, etc, etc!!

My personal interest is to get out in the countryside, Moor walking, nature observation, that kind of thing. It has been something I have been aware of that I have not done much of that for a long while, because, I would feel guilty if not concentrating on the business, and would feel I should be doing something, as there is always something to do.

The lockdown caused me to feel trapped, I could not go out to work, but, we can go out for daily exercise, which is what I did. I set off early in the morning, so as not to meet too many other people who might be out, and I just walked, along river banks, over fields, doing nothing more than enjoying the sounds of the countryside.

I realize this will not appeal to everyone, but, my point is, it is important not to get so involved in our daily working lives, that we miss the basic and fundamental beauty of the world around us. It is amazing how much more we can achieve, and enjoy when taking a wider view of life and it is wise to remember, 

we won't always have the chance to enjoy it!
