Just wanted to let you know that I really really like that you portray your version of April O'Neil as a Person of Color.

Thanks!! After learning about April in the Mirage comics, I’ve really wanted to see the return of April as a WoC. It’s sad that it doesn’t seem like that’ll be happening soon in the canon…so this is the best I can do until then. :]

Frankly, I've always felt that the 2k3 turtles were more realistic. The turtles in most incarnations are raised since birth believing that if they're seen by the outside world, they'd get killed/dissected in a lab, so why wouldn't they be cautious and serious? As far as I can tell, their situation in 2k12 isn't different (except...no one lives in 2k12's NYC, apparently), so the fact that they're carefree and cocky is pretty confusing to me...

Also, I find the whole "do the turtles actually act like teenagers" debate kind of annoying, because "teenage behavior" is a broad, varied spectrum and not just one or a few archetypes, and it's pretty distressing when characters who are disciplined and focused are labeled un-teenager-like.

Um. So this started as a doodle of a jumping turtle (which turned out nothing like how I originally envisioned)...and somehow mutated into a drawing of Raph as a map turtle, looking oddly heroic.

Incidentally, map turtles are really cute and you should totally check them out. :)

Woah woah woah. Shameful? It’s shameful that they didn’t add this into the series? Please rethink what you just said. Diversity is good, I agree. But ‘shameing’ the creators for not adding what YOU think needs to be in the show..come on. LGBT shouldn’t have to have a major issue anymore and whether or not they even consider adding one in, no matter what, it still shouldn’t be a problem.

In some (if not most?) turtle species, the females are larger than the males. I don't know why I came up with these drawings while cackling maniacally after learning that fact.

eeeEEEEEEH. I wish I remembered what Laird and Eastman has said about it cause I do remember them saying something about it in the Ultimate Collection. I THIIIIIIINK it was something like they proposed the idea of her being hispanic and kinda drew her ambigous but ultimately decided she’s white. I THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINK so please don’t quote me on this and dear god if anyone knows how it actually went then tell me. I don’t think it was a question of white washing though.

AU: Splinter names the four turtles after Renaissance artists, but only after the turtles hit puberty is it apparent that one of them is actually female.

Utterly unfazed by the revelation, Leonardo continues to train diligently in order to keep her family safe. Her discipline and strategic skill make her the natural leader among her brothers.

Whenever I think of genderbent!Leo, I pretty much end up exactly where the character started. I just can’t imagine that much of a difference, mental or physical.

(Also, I originally tried to do some perspective but failed, so have weird proportions instead D:)
