In case you guys aren't aware, there is an NSFW comic about Zeus and Ganymede that's just getting started (called My Unreachable Ganimedes on Webtoon). Why am I bringing this up out of the blue? See below the cut. This is meant to be a warning to worshippers.
***TW: NSFW mentions, SA, rape, abuse, kidnapping (unfortunately, I am not exaggerating; minors, I don't suggest reading further, just be aware of the comic itself)***
First thing's first, DO NOT HARASS THE AUTHOR OF THIS COMIC. Harassment is NEVER ok; do not go out of your way to make this person feel bad. With that out of the way, let's get into it.
MsBunnat on Twitter, Tumblr, TikTok, and Instagram is currently in the process of creating a comic about Zeus and Ganymede titled My Unreachable Ganimedes. The art is very beautiful, and her designs for the gods are honestly very creative. I'm personally a fan of the way she designs Aphrodite. Her art style was the first thing that caught my attention and the way that I found her, through a Pinterest post.
The story appears it'll be heavily focusing on an emotionally abusive dynamic between Zeus and Ganymede after Ganymede is kidnapped by Zeus (leaving scars in the shapes of eagle talons on his body). In the content that's been revealed thus far, there are lots of implications of manipulation and art directly depicting SA. I'm not sure if anyone will know what this is, but this reminds me a bit of the comic Killing Stalking in regards to the relationship dynamic (mostly just in the sense that one person is seen as dominant and emotionally (even sometimes physically) abusive, whereas the other is viewed as submissive and even "pathetic"/helpless in a way). I get the impression of Stockholm Syndrome.
At first, I was genuinely very excited to read this comic. It seemed that it could be interesting, even with some NSFW elements; I originally thought it was about a sweet love between the two where consent was still key. As I looked more into the topic, however, I noticed people discussing aspects about her art that she's shared in the past. Allegedly (I cannot find the proof of this but have seen a few people attest to it online), she drew Zeus raping Ganymede on Twitter. It's claimed that she deleted the art due to the complaints and wrote an apology statement, but both of these posts, if they ever existed, are no longer there. I can find no mention of the situation from her directly (this doesn't mean she didn't mention it, just that I can't personally find anything about it).
Unfortunately, however, even if these claims are false, her recent art has explicitly depicted Zeus sexually assaulting Ganymede. There is a piece of art on her Tumblr that shows Zeus presumably forcing Ganymede into a kiss in order to give him the gift of immortality. It wasn't initially disturbing to me until I read the caption because I hadn't immediately assumed it was SA, but after reading the caption, it left an unsettling feeling in my stomach. It felt as though this person was glorifying SA with the use of Greek mythology, BUT this is solely based on my own assumptions of what I've seen thus far. She only has a title cared for her comic which is not enough to assume what the full story will be about.
I spread word about this to make other worshippers aware. This isn't likely to be a comic you will enjoy. In fact, it seems it'll be pretty fucked up and likely upsetting for a lot of us. I would personally advise not looking into the topic if these sorts of topics upset you. It's upsetting to me because it genuinely seemed like it had potential, based on briefly scrolling through her Tumblr posts, until I came across the bits about SA and discovered the rape art accusations. I wish retellings could just be nice, fluffy pieces. I understand people digging into the darker sides of mythology, however, even outside of me being a worshipper, I don't agree with making a comic about such content. If the story is, in fact, about what it seems it'll be about, the glorification of any type of SA is NEVER fucking ok. Never.

This is also why this account is kinda dead tbh.
I don’t want to say the same thing over and over again. I mean, it’s fine if someone puts it in my askbox, but I myself do not want to do that.
but honestly that’s nearly the only way to get traction, really. It sucks
An issue i have with pagan side of Tumblr...
Please read the whole post before commenting!
In order to actually get likes and reblogs i need to start my blog with "daily/friendly reminder" "hot take" or just make a rant about pagan tiktok. You will only get comments and likes when you make a discourse post or a "gods love you" post for the 100th time this week.
👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Don't get me wrong, it's not all about likes. But sometimes i feel like i am talking to a wall 😭. It's exhausting to see that Tumblr is becoming like TikTok: you only catch people's short span of attention by validating people's feelings about things that are normal. Like taking a break from worship and practice.
I JUST WANT TO HAVE ACTUAL DEEP, MEANINGFUL CONVERSATION ABOUT PAGANISM ON TUMBLR.
Maybe i am just new and don't understand stuff , i only joined last year... And people will come to me in the comments saying "bruh what did you expect this is a fandom space!" But all i want is to stop this repetitive wave of posts about discourse and toxic positivity.
Thank you for reading!!!

Pagan culture is a call to adventure! To go into the forests, mountains, and landscapes you had once paid no mind to! Even the open roads. It is a call to go with your friends to seek out, and explore both the mundane and supernatural.
YESSS

For the witches and pagans who need to hear it, connecting with nature is supposed to be about like, actually observing nature over long periods of time, not doing stuff like hoarding endangered bird feathers and beach sand, or just meditating out in aesthetically-pleasing locations. Can you tell me exactly when your wildflowers and weeds start blooming? When do your bugs come out of hibernation? When do migratory birds come and go? How does the air feel during different times of year? If you can't do stuff like that, you aren't connecting with nature.

Pagan culture is being obsessed with mythology ever since you were a child and then finding out years later that you can worship the said gods in the myths.
And being like: "holy guacamole! I can actually worship Zeus or Aphrodite or Hades just like the ancient people did!"
That's basically how i discovered paganism 🫠🫠🫠
me having to play the game of “is this an autism hyperfixation or am I religious”
