The little boy looked at his teacher’s flower Then he looked at his own flower. He liked his flower better than the teacher’s But he did not say this. He just turned his paper over, And made a flower like the teacher’s. It was red, with a green stem.

On another day The teacher said: “Today we are going to make something with clay.” “Good!” thought the little boy; He liked clay. He could make all kinds of things with clay: Snakes and snowmen, Elephants and mice, Cars and trucks And he began to pull and pinch His ball of clay.

But the teacher said, “Wait!” “It is not time to begin!” And she waited until everyone looked ready. “Now,” said the teacher, “We are going to make a dish.” “Good!” thought the little boy, He liked to make dishes. And he began to make some That were all shapes and sizes.

But the teacher said “Wait!” “And I will show you how.” And she showed everyone how to make One deep dish. “There,” said the teacher, “Now you may begin.”

The little boy looked at the teacher’s dish; Then he looked at his own. He liked his better than the teacher’s But he did not say this. He just rolled his clay into a big ball again And made a dish like the teacher’s. It was a deep dish.

And pretty soon The little boy learned to wait, And to watch And to make things just like the teacher. And pretty soon He didn’t make things of his own anymore.

Then it happened That the little boy and his family Moved to another house, In another city, And the little boy Had to go to another school.

The teacher said: “Today we are going to make a picture.” “Good!” thought the little boy. And he waited for the teacher To tell what to do. But the teacher didn’t say anything. She just walked around the room.

When she came to the little boy She asked, “Don’t you want to make a picture?” “Yes,” said the little boy. “What are we going to make?” “I don’t know until you make it,” said the teacher. “How shall I make it?” asked the little boy. “Why, anyway you like,” said the teacher. “And any color?” asked the little boy. “Any color,” said the teacher. And he began to make a red flower with a green stem.

The entire last chapter I wrote was this and honestly? I might just keep it. Heh.

You ever kinda go into autopilot and write something and then you read it back and it's like. Hey uhh. Hey brain. You good?? This is kind of deranged and more than kind of detached and it's a really weird brand of angst that seems like it needs Deeper Unpacking Than Writing Can Provide? And your brain's like *head empty no more thoughts feels perfectly calm* 'nah boss we chill' and you're like BRAIN THIS IS NOT CHILL???

I Finally Did It!

So apart from being a book addict, I also love being in nature, which meant that when I shifted to Uni, I was kinda depressed whenever I had to be in my room for more than a couple hours cos I don't have any plants here, unlike my house, which has tiny spots of leafy or viney greens nearly everywhere!

I'd been looking for something hardy that could survive the climate here and wasn't a succulent. Lo and behold, Air plants! Specifically Spanish Moss!

They're like silvery grey strings and turn this really pretty green as soon as you mist (hah!) them.

Don't forget to water yourself as you read this!

Agreed! And how spoons can be used to communicate concepts like, idk but the first thing that came to mind was if you want to understand you'll see me using a spoon and you'll ask me for one, but if you don't then you'll take the spoon and cover your eyes, like substitute spoons for facts or like things yknow?

I'm rambling but it came to mind so-

I love the concept of spoons. It’s so useful to explain some things. Like, it’s not that I’m too tired. And it’s not that I don’t want to do it. I just… don’t have the spoons.

It’s also kinda weird how some things take spoons and some things don’t take spoons. Like, walking around the house? No spoons. Getting out a pack of PopTarts? No spoons. Getting out a plate and cutlery and stuff? Spoons. Putting something in the air fryer? Spoons. (This is a particular problem I face a lot.) And like, it’s worth it to use those spoons. It’s worth it to put in the effort. But it can easily feel like too much.

But also consider!

E)Arguing with my character about their choices, like-

"No, you can't jump after them, you're supposed to be the sensible one!"

Or

"My last braincell went to you and you threw it at the problem!" (Cue muttering about why did I make you like this)

If you see me frowning intensely as I'm writing, I'm probably:

A) having an internal struggle over where commas go

B) in the midst of killing off a character I had planned to kill but fell in love with

C) realizing I spend four hours of research for one measly sentence

D) actually not writing, I'm playing candy crush

There really is something timeless about places like airports and railway stations and transport hubs in general.

You can people watch or read or just think up more scenarios and situations for your characters and it's something like tunnel vision but also intense concentration and time loses it's grip on you for a bit.

It's really nice.

Hi! I'm so glad you asked!

My current WIP is titled "Whisper", and it follows my OC- Fiore Delman and her (mis)adventures through the fantasy world of Koman!

In Koman there are three major landmasses, and among them Aradia is the oldest and largest.

It is home to all human and humanoid races, with any others being driven out due to war, and is ruled over by the Warsayan Imperials.

The current Emperor is obsessed with hoarding knowledge and slowly over the course of his life, cataloging and compartmentalizing all bits of information and folklore from the human-like races, one of which is the Verani – peaceful, compassionate healers who can sense and manipulate the flow of energy in the body, often times using herbology to aid them in speeding up the process.

My OC is human, adopted by a family of Verani and that's how her journey begins!

What's cool about it is that this is going to be a story that covers not only the very real costs of being good and kind in a world that would rather damn itself, but also the need for self preservation against the well being of the masses, of getting up and healing but changing into something different along the way and picking at shards of yourself with bloodstained hands.

This is something self indulgent mostly, considering that I wanted to read a story where the main character does not forgive; choosing to break themselves into kindling to burn the world for what it did.

Reading is my first love and it helped me through quiet a few rough patches!

My favorite genre is adventure! Be it solos or groups or fantasy or fiction or any setting really.

I like watching lore videos for games! (I've gotten rain world/minecraft/valorant/pokemon brainrot on multiple occasions heh)

Fr, imagine just going about your day to day life and you're doing some mundane chore (for me, it's mostly when I'm doing the dishes) and in pops the overzealous, dramatic, closed wound, touch-starved but untrusting OC that you have been fleshing out and you go- "Oh, you would eat differently wouldn't you?" And then proceeding to fall down the rabbit hole, emoting 100% of whatever is going through your brain.

Idk man, humans imagining stuff in that detail is beyond adorable.
