Before Steven was born Amethyst used to say ‘fuck’ all the time & so when he was a baby Greg had to sit her down and explain that she has to stop swearing around Steven because he’s young & impressionable

So Amethyst is like “but that’s my favourite word, when will be stop being young & impressionable so I can say it again??”

And Greg is like “uhh I don’t know, 15 I guess? 15 is probably old enough” 

“Got it”

flash forward to Steven’s fifteenth birthday and he is woken at dawn by Amethyst yelling “wake the FUCK up Steven it’s FUCKING TIME”

& he spends the entire day losing his mind

reviving this blog for a sec bc after thinking bout it for a while, either

1- spinel is the only spinel

2- spinels are essentialy Jesters and movie spinel is a one of a kind Pink Spinel

because man in old homeworld society what would be the use of a gem whos only purpose is to be obsessed with you and having fun, thats kinda against the grain of the "every gem has a purpose to help us conquer the world" thing so either shes the only one or other spinels are not, as obsessed with the concept of friendship as much as they just have to entertain gem elites (also pearls introduction of spinel seemed rather showy and since shes essentially "programmed" to know shit its likely thats exactly how she introduced her to pink diamond)

also i like the idea that other spinels have gems in the shape of diamonds clubs and spades to make a suit of cards thing because yknow, jester, joker, absolute clowns

Ok i usually try to avoid talking about leaked episodes on this blog but this has been bugging me

What gem is she!!!?  im dying

her gem is a different cut from literally every amethyst we see?! all of them! and I could maybe ignore that if not for the fact that when we see the bubbled rose quartz’s later they all have the same cut, even though they are also all from the prime kindergarten(like the amethysts and this cool gal)

Also- her color scheme? completely different from any of the other amethyst variants we see. We darker/lighter amethysts with darker/lighter hair and various hair styles, but none of them look like this? Her scheme is a lot more red violet, compared to amethysts, which are more lavender. It could just be that her gem misformed, and its affecting her color?? Which is possible since holly blue called some of them miscolored, but that jab was specifically aimed at the beta kindergarteners, which are all red hued gems?

Guys, as much as I love su(which is a lot, hence this blog) it is very disconcerting to me that we currently don't have any direct threat/antagonist, both from the plot standpoint and quality of episodes point. Jasper is bubbled The rubies are lost in space Lapis and Peridot have been our allies for a while Bismuth is a completely different subject that I don't want to get into rn and is unlikely to be unbubbled The cluster is contained Things are peaceful And I'm worried. And yes, Yellow Diamond is a threat, and all the diamonds are overarching antagonists, but she currently (probably) doesn't know about the failed ruby mission. She definitely doesn't know about the cluster being bubbled, because the purpose of their mission (as I believe it to be) was to retrieve jasper to save her from the emerging cluster (jasper being the perfect quartz, and homeworld low on resources, she's very valuable) And she would probably wait a while to hear back from them, as rubies are not the most competent of gems, and since gems concept of time and "soon" are probably very different than ours, it could be a while before she figures out that something's up. Of course that part is my speculation And due to the lack of a threat(other than corrupted gems, which are cool but nothing new) the episodes don't have that same drive. Don't get me wrong, I love seeing these stories and Steven's interactions with people, but when there were threats that could appear at any time, catastrophe an hour away, it added a bit of suspense. Steven and Connie hanging out with Ame? Great! All of them ambushed by Jasper and her corrupted beasts??? Even greater!!!!!! Enjoying this cute episode? Well here's the next one and everything is now Very Bad. Putting all these very chill episodes one after the other, well, they aren't as memorable. And yes the terrible airing schedule contributes to that but we kinda can't put all the blame on that Also That new ending theme is so ominous and I'm also very worried about what threat we will see in the furture
