Before/current screen shots and the proposed redesign for the ncbussafety.org website. Tried to simplify the visual elements and colors. A lot of the content hasn’t been updated in over 10 years so the redesign is looking to not just clean up the aesthetics but move over to wordpress for easier future editing.

Some screenshots from a point and click adventure game I’ve been working on. Definitely still in the prototyping phase, but it’s been a lot of fun to work on. Currently written using Phaser3, although I did a basic Inform text version to pan out the interactions I wanted first. The github page lives here if you feel like looking it over.

Honey Heist character sheet for roll20. My niece (13) and nephew (9) are really into playing tabletop games but I just can’t visit them in person that often, so I’m trying to see if they can handle using roll20. I made this sheet to handle as much of the mechanics as it could to help them out. You can read more about it on my github if you’re curious.

Design brief for an ongoing project to redesign the ITRE DaTALab site. The old site was a bunch of different tools, designed by different students over the years, that the program director wanted redone to be more clean and consistent. Primarily HTML, CSS, and Javascript, although a couple of the tools were made with Python. The live site is up at http://itredatalab.org/ and some of the designs have already been implemented.

For Christmas my older brother and I designed a custom lego set for his wife, who works on the James Webb Telescope. We used the Women of Nasa lego set and a Lego Ideas design as a starting point, then I mocked up what we wanted the set to look like in Stud.io and ordered all of the pieces off off Brick Links. Then I designed a box sleeve in Photoshop, printed it at Staples, and packaged it up for her to open and assemble on Christmas.

Definitely would have done some things differently, like sent the box design off to be printed so it matched the real Lego set better. Plus I underestimated how small the real Women of Nasa sets are and I learned a lot putting them together after the fact that I would have liked to incorporate. Overall though I think I did alright, and she certainly seemed happy with it.

Did some freebie graphic design work for my sister and helped build an escape room for my niece’s birthday. She’s really big into the tv show Bones, so I made a bunch of fake props to decorate the “Lab” and “Office” with. Also made some dissolving bones and invisible ink puzzles. Did one of the girls drink vinegar? Yes. Yes she did. Please don’t ask me why.
