NPD culture is feeling like an asshole for being aplatonic. Like, people will gush about their friends or the friendship storylines in their fave media and I just go ????. I never loved any of my friends. I didn't hate them, it was just something lukewarm. To me they are mostly people who are convenient and fun to hang out with, but I don't feel any deep "I'd one punch Satan for you" affection for them.

Mine started with my parents calling me self centered and my friends leaving me for 'being manipulative' and 'making excuses'. But the way I saw it, I was just looking out for myself because no one else was. I was just explaining myself, not excusing it. I wasn't manipulating, it was a misunderstanding.
