I've often avoided speaking openly about what I think about art for fear of sounding arrogant, politically incorrect or naive. But I see what I see. A lot of what's going on in the art world is pretty crazy and has more to do with following fashion than anything else. Looking at art is a lot simpler than most people think—an aesthetic experience rather than an intellectual one. A work of art either works or it doesn't and when it does it's a magical experience that connects souls across time and cultures. There's great modern art out there but it's few and far between and not as clever, politically correct or as intellectual as the establishment would have us believe.
