"Part of our resistance to the finality of genocide is for us to talk about tomorrow, plan for tomorrow, work on healing the wounds of our people. The aim of this war is that there would [be] no Palestinian tomorrow. We own tomorrow. Tomorrow is a Palestinian day." --Palestinian doctor Ghassan Abu Sitta
The medical workers of Gaza have been an inspiration. As those outside of Gaza watch families rush to hospitals after bombings with their loved ones in shreds in their arms, medical workers must greet those people and their horrifying injuries. Armed with little more than Tylenol and a cellphone flashlight, doctors tend to the worst imaginable injuries.
This genocide has popularized the term Wounded Child, No Surviving Family (WCNSF), as more than 100,000 Gazan children have had one or both parents killed by Israel. More than thousands of children make up the largest ever new cohort of pediatric amputees. But it's not just the children grievously injured and bereft, though I have seen the brains of multiple children. It is every person, loved or unknown bombed or shot to bits. It is the medics, but it is also the men digging through rubble with their bare fingers, the people shaking in tents, those walking miles for water-- these sumud, steadfast people deserve our attention and action.
$19 from this sale will go to buying eSIMs to connect Palestinians in Gaza to the phone and Internet. I will donate via Crips for eSIMsForGaza: https://chuffed.org/project/crips-for-esims-for-gaza

A linoprint with the defiant invitation: "come celebrate with me that every day something has tried to kill me and has failed." This line from Lucille Clifton's poem "won't you celebrate with me" makes me think of so many life events, so many times the world tries to kill us and fails. Maybe you or someone else should mark that occasion.
This special edition print has rich purple Cranfield Caligo ink on distressed silver/holographic cardstock.
Poem: won’t you celebrate with me BY LUCILLE CLIFTON won't you celebrate with me what i have shaped into a kind of life? i had no model. born in babylon both nonwhite and woman what did i see to be except myself? i made it up here on this bridge between starshine and clay, my one hand holding tight my other hand; come celebrate with me that everyday something has tried to kill me and has failed.

The day after Angela Y. Davis was placed on the FBI Most Wanted list for kidnapping and murder, James Baldwin published a public letter to his Sister.
James expressed his kinship with Angela and drove home the resounding need for people of conscience to come to her aid. He ended the letter:
"Some of us, white and black, know how great a price has already been paid to bring into existence a new consciousness, a new people, an unprecedented nation. If we know, and do nothing, we are worse than the murderers hired in our name.
"If we know, then we must fight for your life as though it were our own—which it is—and render impassable with our bodies the corridor to the gas chamber. For, if they take you in the morning, they will be coming for us that night."
Like Martin Niemöller's confession ("First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist..."), James Baldwin marks Angela Davis' incarceration as a particular cultural moment where things are beginning to slide. If they can come for socialists, they can come for trade unionists, and Jews, and Angela Davis, and all Black people, and all of us.
I offer this quote three months into a genocide, a slow burn of 75 years, suddenly sped up. As Israel attempts to erase every Palestinian within its borders, as its hateful rhetoric infects the world, if we know this is wrong, and do not act, "we are worse than the murderers hired in our names."

New color of a block I can never get to behave! A line from "Solidarity Forever" surrounds a burning NYPD cop car:
We can bring to birth a new world from the ashes of the old.

As a 2018 Tumblr shitpost reminds us, Decay exists as an extent form of life. Mycelia are the network of thready roots connecting colonies of #fungus fruits to one another, as well as to other plant life, like trees. These networks mean that dead fungus remains connected to others in its community through the knowledge it shared.
Broadly: there is safety in communities, whether it is in sharing knowledge of threats, or the location of clear cool water. Death is never the last step. Survival is as natural as death and decay. We all survive many deaths before the last one.
Let this be a reminder that you are stronger than you know because no matter how isolated you may seem, thin, searching threads still connect you.

Here is a full-scale (~7") polymer clay in a ceramic bowl). This meal includes spicy ground pork, miso, an unctuous half an egg, braised baby bok choy, nori, scallions, and lots of handmade noodles disappearing into a rich broth. I work with colored clay and never paint my work– it takes lots of planning and blending to reach the true-to-life colors I’m seeking. By using different mixes of gloss, matte, and satin polyeurathane, the broth becomes liquid while the egg has only a light shine on the white and glossy, fresh orange yolk.
Because the nori makes this piece especially fragile, it will be available at Gateway Arts, 62 Harvard St, Brookline, MA. Please contact me at [email protected] if you are interested in purchasing directly from me in Roxbury.

A breakfast of cinnamon-swirl French toast with maple syrup is rounded out by fruit salad with handmade blueberries, bananas, cantaloupe, and watermelon. All food is glued down, but the plates are not. For a sense of scale, the plates are about .8", around the size of a postage stamp and all food is handmade by yours truly! (The table and ceramic plates are mass-produced.)
Available only at Gateway Arts, Brookline, MA! Stop by or reach out to the store

I've really enjoyed working on tiny aloe plants measuring about 2 inches-- or much, much smaller! Packed with dirt from my front yard, there's an element of cheerful realism for even the most poorly-lit office cubical. Head to Etsy to stock up on gifts for yourselves and office dwellers. You can also request a restock if I'm out!

There's a sweet story behind these briny half-sour dill pickles. When I listed them on Etsy, I referenced a joke that is also true: the hormone in Spiro makes you crave salt/pickles so I tagged it "trans women." I was showing off my art to a friend's of mine and mentioned this and she, a trans woman, got emotional about it and just connected with it. It's very nice when a quirky item like a miniature plate of pickles finds its perfect owner!
One of my family's special treats was a trip to "The Spa" (with a Boston "a"), where I'd always get a BLT and chocolate frappe. It came with a big half sour pickle, which I always took a bite of and then put on my sister's plate. But I do have fond memoiries of The Spa, andthose big pickles.

Free abortion on demand without apology.
Wine purple text on double layer white muslin. The edges are not sealed and are intended to fray
50% of pretax, preshipping price will be donated to Yellowhammer Abortion Fund in Alabama. At the 2018 midterms, Alabama adopted an amendment outlawing abortion if Roe v Wade is overturned. This was followed in May 2019 with criminal punishment for people who perform or facilitate abortions.
That is exactly what Yellowhammer does. They fund medication and procedures directly and help when they can some related costs, like travel and hotel.
People have always needed and will always need abortions. We have always had and will have abortions. Support access to free, safe reproductive care in a state with only three clinics.
