[REVIEW] The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% + HA . I can't believe I'm finally trying out a product from The Ordinary & I'm glad I started with this! . The star ingredient in this is Alpha Arbutin which is exactly what I was looking for to treat my PIH. Alpha Arbutin is a safer substitute to Hydroquinone when it comes to skin lightening. This serum has a 2% of concentrated Alpha Arbutin which claims to fade PIH, even out skin tone & effectively brightens the skin. . So does it delivers to it claims? IT DOES!! I'm not even halfway through my first bottle & I already ordered 2 more bottles bcos I can see significant results to my PIH in about 1 week of use! . Aside from lightening my PIH, I also notice my skin becomes smoother & my pores are barely visible too! This must be bcos of the presence of the other star ingredient which is HA (Hyaluronic Acid). I must say, this 2 ingredients is such a good combination 👍 . The only downside of this product is that it does leaves a tacky or sticky feeling if applied too much. So I would recommend 2-3 drops for the whole face. 🌟 A tip I would give is to apply this serum on damp skin. Meaning, right after you applied your toner/mist, apply this straight! It helps the serum to absorb easier & less tacky too. And ofc don't forget to apply your sunscreen in the day! . Other than that, I have nothing bad to say about this serum given that it delivers to its claims & at such a good price. . What other The Ordinary products should I try that would work well together with this serum? Do comment down :) . . . #skincare #skincarereview #theordinary #serum #AlphaArbutin #hyaluronicacid #skinlightening #glowingskin #skincarelover #skincareroutine #skincareblogger #skincareCommunity (at Singapore) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cnb5ee_LorV/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

[REVIEW] BACIEL HYDRA BARRIER CICA FOAM CLEANSER . Recently I just discovered this brand and I'm impressed by the ingredients they use in their products ❤️ . This cleanser is cica based which I know my skin loves for it's calming & soothing properties. The smell reminds me of the COSRX Cica cleanser, probably bcos both are cica based. . Despite it being called a "foam" cleanser, it is actually not drying on my normal to dry skin. In fact, it felt moisturising after rinse! . It also has Rosemary Leaf Oil which I thought might irritate my skin but surprisingly it didn't 👍 . Simply put, this is a gentle, non-stripping & affordable cleanser. I'm already halfway through my first tube & I already got a new one hehe . This would probably be my cleanser staple in my routine! Have you guys heard of BACIEL or tried their products? Comment down :) . [REVIEW] SOMETHINC Skin Goals Brightening Glow 10 minutes Wash Off Mask . Key Ingredients 🔑 Quadruple Brightening Complex: - SabiWhite - g2light - Alpha Arbutin - Glutathione - Marine Collagen - Strawberry Seeds . ✔️Non - Comedogenic ✔️Dermatologically tested ✔️Suitable for oily/combi/acne-prone skin . This is a pretty decent and affordable wash off mask that focuses on brightening. It has a yoghurt like texture that makes it easy to spread and dry off quickly. As the name says, you only need 10 minutes for the mask to dry completely! . This mask smells like strawberries which I don't mind and you can see the strawberry seeds when on the mask itself. I really like that it has a cooling effect whenever I apply it. . After I wash off the mask my face feels clean & it does leaves a temporary brightening effect. Other than that, the mask doesn't really do much. . If you're looking for an affordable, brightening wash off mask you can give this product a shot! Even for me, I have normal to dry skin & this mask works just fine 👍 . Have you tried any products from SOMETHINC? Do comment down & let me know which products I should try next 😉 . . . #skincare #skincarereview #somethinc #washoffmask #brightening #glowingskin #skincarelover #skincareroutine #skincareblogger #skincareCommunity (at Singapore / Singapura / 新加坡 / சிங்கப்பூர்) https://www.instagram.com/p/CltJhrqrRUW/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

[REVIEW] Wardah Lightening Day Cream SPF30 PA*** . Been using this Wardah Lightening range and finally, here's my review on the day cream! . Claims: 🌠Brightens skin 🌠Fades dark marks 🌠Protects skin from Blue light radiation 🌠Moisturize 🌠Even out skin tone . Texture: Creamy white Scent: Sweet powder (?) . ✔️Non Comedogenic ✔️Dermatologically tested ✔️0% Alcohol . Key ingredient: Advanced Niacinamide ✨ . My experience: To be honest, I don't really have much things to say. I do find this cream a bit hard to work with even though I have dry skin. I would normally apply this right after toner/mist so that it can spread and absorb easily. It does has fragrance but thankfully it doesn't irritate my skin. . Though it claims to lighten acne/dark marks, I don't really see a significant difference to my PIH. However, after a few months using it, I do get compliments saying that my skin has become brighter. Apart from that, I can't really point out any other improvement. . Overall, this is a pretty decent niacinamide-based moisturizer if you're on a skincare budget. Better for normal to dry skin, definitely a bit too heavy for oily skin. I've actually repurchased this several times but this would probably be my last tub since I'm not a fan of the texture. . [REVIEW] Benton Air Fit UV Defense Sun Cream SPF 50+ PA++++ . So I was looking for an affordable sun screen and came across this on Shopee for only $10! . 💚 Texture: Lightweight, green tinted cream 💚 Scent: Rosemary 💚 Key ingredient: Centella (calming & soothing) ✔️ No whitecast ✔️ Dermatologically tested ✔️ Non-comedogenic ✔️ Blue light protection . My experience: Tbh I only started using this sun cream about a week ago and I have mix feelings about it. I like that the texture is light yet moisturizing enough for my normal to dry skin. It does not have a whitecast but takes awhile to be fully absorb. . My mistake when buying this is not realising that it has rosemary in it which my skin is sensitive to. In fact, I know that my skin is sensitive to essential oil and it feels heated or irritated when comes in contact with my skin. But luckily, although my skin feels irritated by that one ingredient, it never break me out. . But I would say that a part from the essential oil, it's actually a pretty decent, affordable sun cream. If your skin is not sensitive to essential oil then you can give this sun scream a try 👍 But will I repurchase? Sadly not :( . . . #skincare #skincarereview #kbeauty #benton #koreanskincare #koreanbeauty #sunscreen #UVprotect #skincarelover #skincareroutine #skincareCommunity #suncream (at Singapore / Singapura / 新加坡 / சிங்கப்பூர்) https://www.instagram.com/p/CjxuCterC_K/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

[REVIEW] ARGANIA LIP FUEL (Peachy Cheeks 🍑) . My lips has been super dry every morning I wake up due to the cold, rainy weather & I came across this highly raved lip oil on TikTok that is made in Malaysia! . This ultra-nourishing lip oil is enriched with Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E which makes my lips moisturised, smooth and healthy looking 😍 . I got the peach scented version which does leave a pink tint and smells like peaches too! . I do notice that my lips are less flaky and hydrated. Just be careful not to apply too much or else it looks VERY pink on the lips 😂 Not sure if they have a non-tinted version but if they do I'll definitely get it! . Interested to try this? [REVIEW] LANEIGE Cream Skin Refiner Took me long enough to finally review this. I have pretty high expectation of this product given the raves it got from influencers when it was just released. I got it for about S$23 on Shopee. . 🦋 Packaging: Frosted, plastic bottle (150ml) 🦋Texture: Milky ✔️Dermatologically tested ✔️Hypoallergenic tested . As stated in the bottle itself, this is a cream which is melted into a refiner. Targeted for people with dry skin. . 🍑Experience: Tbh I'm not a fan of this product which explains why it took me so long to finish it. I find that it's too moisturizing for my combination to dry skin. It's not a bad product given that the ingredients is "clean" and is tested safe for sensitive skin. But since it is technically a "cream" it does feels heavy and takes time to absorb into the skin. . I'm also not a fan of the packaging which is hard for me to get the amount that I need and ended up using too much. Hence, I transferred it into a mist bottle for easy application 👍 . 1 tip I have when using this refiner is to tap it into the skin and not rub or else it will leave a creamy, white cast. . I would recommend this if you have very dry skin and also to be use during winter. Definitely not for oily skin peeps and not suitable for humid climate like Singapore. And the good thing is it comes in a hefty 150ml which will last you very long since you only need a small amount per use. Will I repurchase? Sadly, nope :( . . #skincare #skincarereview #laneige #moisturizing #dermatologicallytested #skincarelover #skincareroutine #skincareblogger #kbeauty #koreanskincare #koreanbeauty (at Singapore / Singapura / 新加坡 / சிங்கப்பூர்) https://www.instagram.com/p/CjK6WHPLou7/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

[REVIEW] Nutrishe Intensive Bright and Glow Serum 🌿 . Nutrishe is an Indonesian brand that I just discovered. An Indonesian YouTuber recommended this serum to fade dark spots so I decided to give it shot. . First of all, this serum comes in a glass bottle with a dropper. I actually dropped my first bottle and it broke before I got to finish it 😭 So just be careful not to drop it. . The serum is lightweight, has a milky-white colour that absorbs nicely without being too sticky or greasy. It also has a nice scent but doesn't irritate my skin and no drying alcohol detected in the ingredients 👍 . Initially, I only apply this on my dark spots but ended up using it all over my face 😂 . Key Ingredients: 🌼 Alpha Arbutin ~ minimize dark spot, uneven skin, reduce dull skin, brighten 🌼 Brown Seaweed (algae extract) ~ hydration for glowing skin 🌼 Centella Asiatica ~ healing, strengthen skin barrier, acne-fighting, hydrating, soothing . It took me about 1 week to notice my dark spots fading which is actually fast if I were to compare with the other skin lightening products I've tried. Since I started applying it all over my face I did notice my skin became brighter too 😍 . I would say that it does minimise dark spots but it takes time and consistency. I do recommend you to apply it twice a day before moisturizer to speed up the process. It also makes my skin hydrated and glowy. It is also a plus since it never broke me out despite the fragrance. . So if you are looking for a lightweight serum to minimise dark spots or to brighten the skin, you guys can give this a shot! I would recommend this for all skin types except for sensitive skin since it does has fragrance. . I just finished my second bottle and I just got 2 more!! Really love this 💗 . Good morning! Today I'll be reviewing on the Daily Sun Cream from Vaseline. . I actually didn't know about this sunscreen & I was excited to give it a try when I saw it on Shopee. Given that it is made in Korea and is from Vaseline, I had a pretty high expectation of it. It also has high SPF and is affordable. . The first thing that caught my attention when I use it for the first time is the scent. It has a very strong fragrance that took awhile to fade. . The texture of the cream is light but despite that, its very moisturizing, so definitely not for oily skin people. . It claims to use the Water-Holding Technology which does gives that cooling effect and hydration when applied to protect your skin when exposed to the sun. Given that it's a Vaseline product, it does has vaseline jelly which acts as a barrier to keep your skin moisturized and healthy. . It does not leave a white cast which is definitely a plus for darker skin tones like mine but it does take a while for you to blend it into the skin. Once absorbed, it leave my dry skin looking hydrated but not greasy. . I'm sorry I can't comment on the ingredients because I can't seem to find it but so far, it never broke me up of irritate my skin 👍 . It is not a bad sunscreen but I would not repurchase it because its cream texture makes it harder to reapply and also the fragrance is a bit too strong to my liking. . Interested to try this? Happy Sunday! Today I'll do a review on a beauty product I've been using for a few years. It is the BB JELLY from @lovera.sg! . This product claims to have 9 benefits which is: 1 instantly brightens 2 cover imperfections 3 reduce acne 4 sun protection 5 minimize pores 6 even out skin tone 7 hydrates dry skin 8 smoothen skin texture 9 instant glowing skin . So does it really do all of the above? Well, let me explain. . First of all, this is actually a BB Cream but in jelly texture which means it's more lightweight so it doesn't clog your pores and is perfect to wear under your mask! . It has a light nude tint which gives that tone up effect that might be a bit too light for darker skin tones like mine which is why I only needed a tiny amount for my entire face. So based on this, it does brighten & even out my skin tone but it doesn't really cover imperfections like you would expect of a concealer. . It also provide some sun protection as it has SPF 20 PA++. But that doesn't mean you can skip your sunscreen, this wouldn't be enough. . As for the other claims, I can't really tell but the reason why I'm a long-term user is because for someone who doesn't really wear makeup I always reach out to this. Of course it doesn't give you that flawless skin like a foundation does but it does make you skin instantly brighter & glowy! . Besides, since it's water-based you only need water to remove it 👍 I'm glad they changed the packaging from a squeeze tube to a pump bottle which makes it less messy and easier to use. . Would I recommend? Yes of course. You can use this as a make up base or even on its own 😉 . Interested to try this BB Jelly? Hi guys! Today I'll do a review on the Etude House Soon Jung 5.5 Foam Cleanser 👑 . As expected from the Soon Jung range which is catered for people with sensitive skin, this foam cleanser is mild, gentle and doesn't have any harsh ingredients such as drying alcohol or fragrance. It also helps to control your oil-moisture balance. . With its low pH 5.5, it doesn't leave your skin feeling over-drying or tight after rinsing. . Key Ingredients: ~ glycerin (humectant) ~ panthenol (moisturise, hydrate) ~ madecassocide (antioxidant, anti-inflammatory) . Anyone can use this cleanser but I would recommend it if you have sensitive, acne-prone, easily irritated skin or if you are looking for a basic cleanser that does nothing else but to cleanse your face 👍 . [SKINCARE REVIEW] COSRX Aloe Soothing Sun Cream
(review extracted from instagram: 24 September 2019)
Tumblr media
A physical & chemical sunscreen. It is lightweight yet moisturizing, which is great for my dry skin. The lightweight cream texture makes it easy to spread and blend into your skin. Perfect to use under makeup. It does has a mild aloe scent that fades away. Most importantly, it does not have a white cast!
The downside of this sunscreen is that Alcohol Denat is among the top ingredients which can actually irritate or sensitize skin. It does contain good ingredients like Allantoin, Hyaluronic Acid, Panthenol & Snail Secretion but they are at the bottom of the ingredients list. It also leaves a shine on my face when I sweat, feels greasy.
As someone who has sensitive skin, this sunscreen never breaks me out even though it has a high content of Alcohol. Besides that, this is actually a pretty decent physical & chemical sunscreen to use daily. It has a high level of SPF, moisturises, travel friendly thanks to the hygienic tube & its also affordable!

[SKINCARE REVIEW] Secret Key Lemon Sparkling Peeling Gel
(review extracted from 23 September 2019)
Tumblr media
As you guys can see, this is actually their old packaging of the product so I've actually been using this product for THAT long 😂
This peeling gel is a gentle physical exfoliator so it's suitable for sensitive skin. It helps to clear dirt and oil from pores and get rid of dead skin.
Based on my experience, this exfoliator really helps to deeply cleanse my skin without stripping my skin. My face feels really clean and soft after rinsing and it also brightens my skin! Packaging wise, I consider it to be hygienic and convenient since it comes in a tube compared to a tub. Most importantly, it's affordable 👍
This peeling gel contains some good ingredients such as Centella Asiatica Extract (smooth and soothe the skin, anti-bacterial), Lemon (astringent, brightening) and Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract (skin conditioner, emollient). It does contain fragrance but it's right at the bottom of the ingredients list.
How to use: On dry skin before washing your face, dispense an ample amount and gently massage it all over your face for 5 minutes and rinse it off with lukewarm water.
Recommended to use 2-3 times a week. (Please don't over exfoliate your face!!)

[SKINCARE REVIEW] Mamonde Rose Water Toner 🌹
(review extracted from my instagram: 22 September 2019)
Tumblr media
I finally got my hands on one of K-Beauty favourites! This toner smells like roses which is really nice and soothing. Texture literally feels like water hence it absorbs to the skin quickly. I use this with a cotton pad and it really captures left over dirt. However it is not as moisturizing as it claims to be probably because I have dry skin.
The downside of this product is that it contains Phenoxyethanol, which is used as an anti-bacterial in cosmetics but can be harmful to the skin with prolonged used. It also contains Fragrance, which can irritate sensitive skin.
Although I have not experience any sensitivity to this product & that both the ingredients mentioned are at the bottom of the list, I still would not repurchase this toner because I feel like it does not do much to my skin
