I finished Chain of Thorns the very next day (couldn't update cuz I had exams) after release and I was kinda disappointed. I had such high hopes for the book but well

I still love the TLH gang though. I had some scenes that i wanted to read in chot but we didn't get those :((

(I read The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo a week ago and I liked it. It was different from what I usually read but I enjoyed the book)

Goals for my art this year!!

looking through some of my old artworks on procreate and I'm so glad knowing I've improved a lot in less than a year! I'll be redrawing one of my old artworks sometime soon. I'll probably redraw my very first OC! It's a boy with his hair dyed bright bright red and who's possibly a criminal. Wanted by the police or the police equivalent in his world, I haven't decided

I made it nearly a year ago and it's almost just solid colours and thick outlines. I'm waiting to know how much I've improved. I've probably improved in poses too even though it's just a bust portrait

Another goal I have for my art this year is to improve anatomy. I've always wanted to learn anatomy. I did start with it a couple times this year, using skillshare and youtube to learn more but school got in the way 🙄 It's still in the way, this year possibly much more busier than the last but I'm going to find time. I have wayy to many ideas and plans for it to be put aside lmao

This year though, I will have learnt and tried dynamic poses. Dynamic poses give life to your paintings and it's so interesting to just look at, I'm itching to learn it and give it a shot

Another goal I have is ✨️concept art✨️ The idea of it is so lovely and I've seen people make beautiful artworks with fantastic backgrounds. Backgrounds is again another goal of mine. I want to try backgrounds, do a full illustration instead of simply a bust portrait or a sketch of a person standing. Backgrounds seem important in an art work. It adds to the story

EDIT: I made a couple paintings with full backgrounds and concepts and I love them :D So it's definitely something i will do more

And drawing without references????? How do people manage that. I want to try that too. I have tried it multiple times actually but the anatomy always goes wrong and I end up using references again. It's a continuous process

So, I painted a dog digitally for the first time ever. I make humans all the time so this was a good challenge. I struggled with it for a while because of all the fur and whiskers and all that but here's the finished piece

I'm not super proud of this piece but it's okay I guess. I did spend a lot of time making this though. There's so many details and little furry hairs that took me a while to paint.

New OC!!! He's an ex-soldier I just made him out of the blue

Born into a family of warriors, he grew around violence and wars. But he was a silent little boy, to whom fighting didn't come easily. The only thing he wanted in his life was to fit in with his family and his surroundings. His parents were extremely understanding of their little boy's interests but what could they do? It was the norms of the society that the second child of the family had to train to become a soldier. And in his family, it was him
