There’s something so beautifully heartbreaking about young Carlos probably feeling like the world is against him vs present Carlos having a shot at a healthy and loving marriage

I’m rewatching Lone Star’s 1x08 and after the premier of season 4, it’s making me a little bit insane.

Something about Carlos thinking he was never going to find love— at least not the type of love he yearned after— so to not disappoint his parents + I assume, to fill that sort of void in his heart, he married his best friend. Then, he loses his best friend (Iris goes missing, she’s presumed dead). He loses that one singular shot he thinks he has at love, and at making his parents proud.

Fast forward to the moment he DOES find love again, despite everything he might’ve though, and boom, surprise ! The love of his life gets shot. And that’s not the last time TK almost dies.

I don’t know how Carlos is alive, because if I were him, I would’ve had a million heart attacks.

Moving right along to "The Christmas Spirit" I also just want to give a quick shout-out to Eddie Diaz's face when he's looking at Buck putting gingerbread houses together with Chris and Denny. Those Diaz Doe Eyes really did the most in a 0.2 second scene because that was in fact the moment I started side-eying these two as more than friends and! That scene is burned into my brain matter.
