it's so sad that the innies think the outies have all this life and freedom that has been denied to them and meanwhile mark is a depressed alcoholic who lives only in dim lighting, helena cuts eggs in pieces so small the fork shouldn't be able to lift them to her mouth, dylan and gretchen's marriage is desintegrating, all irving has is black coffee and black paint and the black hole of vengeance that wants to swallow him whole... it's just so fucking sad they have the physical means to reach for and grasp all the happiness denied to the innies and they still can't. they're too damaged to. they've drawn a chalk circle of hell around themselves and they never step out of it. the innies' lust for life is the only thing that will help them break the cycle. we can't, we can't, i'm ready, we can't, i'm ready, i'm ready, i'm ready.

Imagine they were able to generate that much sympathy for Gemma in just an episode showing her suffering for two years, what more can they do for Helena Eagan who had to suffer since childhood just because she had no choice but to be born the first daughter of Jame Eagan. (Like where's her mom in all of this?)

We see how strong, kind, and loving at the core Helly R is and for Jame to be able to reduce her to Helena, a human can only take a number of traumas before the fire is snuffed/twisted out of them (if it really is).

And to think that if it weren't for Helly R, Mark S would've finished refining Gemma and everyone would move on with their life without a fighting chance. Lumon really thought they were making it all better when they sent their heir apparent down to the severed floor but it's gonna be a full circle moment when the plan which they thought would make them establish their rule forever is the one that ruins it all for them.

Mark Scout telling Mark S to imagine his love with Helly but multiply it by a much longer time just goes to show his fundamental misunderstanding of the innies. Like Mark S has only been alive for two years. And Helly has only been alive a few months at most. A few months for Mark S is half his life. And a few months for Helly is her ENTIRE LIFE. In reality Mark S has known Helly for HALF of his life. And Helly has known Mark S for her ENTIRE life. So they don’t have to take their love and multiply by a thousand to understand Mark and Gemma’s love and how deep it is. They fully understand. Mark Scout doesn’t though because to HIM innies arent their own people with their own lives they’re just an extension of their outies. So to HIM Mark S is in his forties and Helly is 30. To HIM they’ve only known each other a few months so of course it’s not as deep as his YEARS long relationship. He doesn’t understand that that’s not how innies work! Mark is only 2! Helly is only a few months! They’ve loved each other for a majority of both their lives! Of COURSE they understand Mark and Gemma’s love. They’re experiencing the same thing!
