A scene from the carboniferous prints available! https://www.inprnt.com/gallery/starfielddomicile/after-the-storm-the-carboniferous/ Species depicted: A couple of Hibbertopterus wading through the shallows, a shy Arthropleura hiding under the debris, a young Eryops, scurrying off with a piece of: the enormous lungfish Rhizodus, Some generic orthocones and nautiloids, a beached xenacanthus, the spider-like megarachne, a few mazothairos, a sneaky pulminoscorpius, And of course everyone’s favorite Meganeura, carrying an unlucky tullimonstrum

Quick reminder for everyone:
PTERODACTYLS ARE NOT DINOAURS 😭
They are pterosaurs, a separate species of extinct reptile. The difference comes down to their bone structure I'm pretty sure, but as a general rule of thumb, pterosaurs are the ones that fly. (With SO MANY exceptions like microraptors)

Snake Detection Hypothesis
The snake detection hypothesis regards that humans and other primates can detect snakes faster than other species and argues that snakes were responsible for the origin of primates by acting as a selective pressure in the modification and expansion of primate visual systems so that vision is now their predominant sensory interface with the environment due to predatory pressure from snakes. This includes our front facing eyes for better depth perception and our ability to see the full colour spectrum.
An example in the wild that lines up with this hypothesis is how lemurs in Madagascar who have the worst eyesight among primates are also the only primates who didn't have as many dangerous snakes to watch out for in regards of the snakes with the most potent venom never made it to Madagascar and primates of Africa and Asia have the best vision and most advanced colour perception. These primates are also the primates who have been around dangerous snakes like vipers and other venomous species the longest.
Another part of this hypothesis is that it has assisted in the development of the pulvinar, a section of the brain associated with processing visual information, which is bigger in primates then other mammals.

They turned him into a shaboingboing
Edit: I keep seeing this photo being reposted in places outside of Tumblr, and it surprises me every time. By the way, a "shaboingboing" is a hotdog. (Also, please stop cropping my name out of the photo! ;w; My posts are kewl!)
