“how wealthy is your mom?” you asked.

“probably my mom’s boyfriend, jack unfortunately.”

the car rolled to a stop outside of a fancy building. it was slightly larger than the ones surrounding it. kate ran around to open the door for you. accepting her hand and thanking her.

a blush crawled up her face as she stared at you. you had tried to find the nicest dress you owned and made sure your makeup looked good.

“dinner’s this way unless you all want to stand there.”

you could feel jack staring at you while you took a seat. you sat next to kate who sat across from her mother, with jack across from you.

the food was already there. steam rolling off of it. it smelled delicious and you were going to compliment kate’s mom until she started talking to kate.

“so how’s school?” as if it was a sore subject the tension in the air began to increase.

“it’s fine. how about we talk about something else.” kate suggested.

“fine.” silence fell over and the tension was still there.

you all stay in awkward silence for a few minutes until jack was the one to speak up. “so how did u meet y/n?” he asked waving in your direction with a fork.

“we met at an archery camp. y/n was trying archery the first time and i taught her some of the basics”

“ah, why am i not surprised.”

“what’s that suppose to mean?” kate was turning rather bitter and angry towards her mother. you knew it wasn’t your fault, but you felt somewhat responsible for this outcome.

“can’t you just be happy for me?”

“it’s just going to take time, honey.” kate’s mom let a small smile form, but kate wasn’t buying it.

“let’s just go y/n.”

“kate don’t leave,” her mother called out, but by then you were already in the elevator.

it was all too loud. it felt like everyone was yelling. your hands harshly gripped your ears in a failed attempt to drown out the noise. everything was flashing before your eyes. the dim lights seemed even brighter right now.

bucky watched as you hastily excused yourself from everyone. he could tell that something was wrong with you. worry consumed him as the worst possibilities began to flood his mind.

as you began to try to make your way back to your room stumbling here and there you felt a smooth cold hand gently grip your wrist. you turned around only to look into a light and quickly close your eyes.

“y/n? y/n what’s wrong?” it seemed as bucky was yelling, but you knew he wasn’t.

“quieter please.”

“let’s get you to your room,” his voice was much softer now and didn’t seem as loud which you were very appreciative for.

he scooped you into his arms and began carrying you bridal style back to your room. his metal arm rested against your back while his flesh arm was under your knees. you were pressed flush up against his broad chest as your arms circled his neck. you buried your face into the crook of his neck to block out any source of light. you could hear the creak of the door open to your room as you slightly turned your head to peek.

“i’m going to set you down now ok?”

you could only nod in response too tired to form words. the soft mattress began to swallow you whole the further you sunk in. you were wrapped up like a burrito to keep warm. bucky turned around and you quickly grabbed his metal arm to stop him.

Your tired feet dragged through the door. Wanting nothing more than to lay down. You lazily walked over to the couch only to collapse on it. You groaned once your face made contact with the plush seating. Your belongings were ditched by the door and you quickly kicked off your shoes.

Bucky had heard you come in after you had kicked your shoes off causing them to hit the wall. He peered around from the kitchen to see you sprawled out on the couch. You could hear the shuffle of feet as he walked over to you. A deep chuckle left his lips as he saw you laying on the couch.

He slowly sat down on the couch taking in your appearance. From messy hair to sleepy eyes he still thought you looked amazing. He ran his fingers through your hair as you leaned into his touch.

“Bucky,” you groaned slightly rubbing your eyes.

“Yes doll?”

“I need you,” you whined. Holding out your arms for him almost as if a child wanting to try to grab something.

He thought it was adorable and another chuckle escaped his lips as he leaned down to gently kiss your lips before holding you in his arms. His hand creased your hair lovingly while his other gently rubbed your back.
