Another Wednesday, another unhinged WIP!

This one is from the final chapter of Suffocate Me (I'm Still Breathing):

He wishes that the floor would open up beneath him, like a bottomless macabre maw filled with sharp teeth and penance, and swallow him whole.  Maybe then Obi-Wan could find that blessed nihility from the night before, instead of entertaining the sole focus of the scrutiny and judgment etched into Anakin’s features as the other man pushes himself to stand. He can’t do this.   He needs to leave.  “I uh.  I have to… go,” Obi-Wan stutters inelegantly, whirling around so quickly that the room around him tilts nauseatingly in his deplorably hungover state.  He forces himself through it, instead blindly stumbling towards the door. “Wait, Obi-Wan!”

So, it's been a while since I posted my own art.

I decided to make some fan-art for @mischievouschan4 for their fic Transference, a fabulous Star Wars Fix-it that involves time-travel, shenanigans, found family, and Obi-Wan trying his Best so that the original timeline doesn't repeat. Honestly, I fucking love this fic so much. Y'all should check it out.

@mischievouschan4 is an amazing Author, and has been hella chill about me screaming my feelings at them for each chapter update. And we've been screaming at eachother over the process of this lil piece of art.

Okay, the art is Obi-Wan but with longer hair and muscles. that's uh, that's about it? It alludes to future things in the fic, kinda. ish. IDFK y'all.

What’s your worst writing habit? And what story are you most proud of?

Ooooooh my worst writing habit... hmmmm. I'd probably say skipping the scenes I'm not excited to write and jumping ahead to ones I am! Not always a bad thing, but I find that I have to be really careful to make sure that the two scenes connect properly. I've deficiently had times where I went to fill in the gaps, and then last minute realize I had the characters in two completely different situations, or that conversations didn't connect!

As for the story I'm most proud of, I'd say "Suffocate Me (I'm Still Breathing". It started out as a oneshot for the Obikin Bingo, but it grew legs and a plot, and I'm really proud of the imagery/emotional depth I've been able to curate so far!

🍋 favorite genre to read / watch / write

Ooooo I love this one, tysm for asking! And it’ll probably be much more information than you asked for 🙈 SORRY NOT SORRY

My favorite books are fiction adventure/thriller! When I was a bebé I adored the Artemis Fowl and Alex Rider series (thirteen year old me definitely had her first foray into fanfiction with Alex Rider LOL) and as an adult my favorite authors are Michael Crichton for a more science-y twist, John Grisham for legal thrillers and Brett Battles for crime fiction, Tess Gerritsen for medical thrillers…yes, there is a theme.

But I have to shoutout two of my favorite books “Paradise General: Riding the Surge at a Combat Hospital in Iraq” by Dr. Dave Hnida (changed my view of war forever) and “The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History” by Elizabeth Kolbert (for anyone who does or does not believe in climate change or if you’ve always loved natural history museums).

As for watching…em I find myself not watching that much TV on the daily? But if I did, it’d probably be something like Ted Lasso. My comfort movie is The Phantom Menace. My favorites are between Inception, The Martian, The Sound of Music, and Hidden Figures. Animated movies are in a different category in my head, of which I also have favorites: Zootopia, Kiki’s Delivery Service (one of the first movies I EVER remember watching), and Promare (the visuals??? the music??? I literally went to see it 3x in theaters). ((I might also have an x-rated fanfic written for it 😝)) I literally don’t know what genre these all fall into…movies that make you think a little?

Maybe I can also do listening instead because I LOVE podcasts! Ologies with Alie Ward is my ALL TIME FAVORITE! She’s a great mix of punny wit, friendly vibes, but also getting to the point and asking questions in a way that breaks down complicated topics into understandable bite-sized pieces (I dislike uber chatty podcasts). And she does episodes on every -ology you can think of! I surprisingly loved the ones on Lepidopterology (butterflies) and Teuthology (squids) much more than expected! And Dendrology (trees), what a great expert she brought on omg 🤌🏼 I think I love science podcasts in general.

As for writing, I adore slice of life with my Vlogger!Ani oneshots and, big surprise, my time travel fix-it/found family/misunderstood villain redemption series with smol smut sprinkled in, Transference. It my baby, the bane of my existence, and my pride and joy all in one 🤣

Okay, I literally cannot with this fic. It's obvious just how much blood, sweat, and tears have gone into this fic. We all love a good time-travel fic, but his author has taken that trope and rana fucking marathon with it. There's so many unique takes on the "what ifs" of cannon, and the character development is exceptional! I can't wait to see where they take it from here.
