Not being able to walk properly at times is such an odd experience. Especially being confined to your home because of it.

Needing a mobility aid even when you’re just walking around your house is not ideal, obviously. Anyone can conclude that, but experiencing the odd alienation from your life is such a bad feeling. I couldn’t quite place why I relate to Viktor so much, why every time I see him or think of him I am overwhelmed with helplessness. I made the connection of the fact that both of us are disabled and have complicated relationships with our body. But then I realized why.

We are both kept alive by our need to accomplish, to make up for lost time. Our bodies disable us from feeling satisfied, from feeling like we’ve done something with the little time we feel we have.

We both feel a part of something bigger, we both feel incomplete.
