i've seen many hogwarts discussions on merlin but i've been too late to catch any of them... so here's what i think?

(leon, percival and lancelot are brave and loyal so they're somewhere in the middle of g/h. elyan just feels like ravenclaw. as well as merlin, although i understand any other takes. perhaps if he were a nobleman he'd have more time on ‘common’ ravenclaw activities but i still believe he'd enjoy them. i'd also add iseldir and alator there.)

upd: remade it so mordred is gryffindor (a big thank you to the commentator below), merlin is hufflepuff/ravenclaw (also changed notes to him) and added agravaine and nimueh.

i was watching this comic con panel with alex, tom and rupert and somebody asked about asa butterfield. alex went ‘oh that was a different mordred’ and i just thought- what if it was?

we know mordred is a powerful sorcerer but we don't get to see him do magic openly until 5x11. if we ignore this episode- what if mordred in season 5 wasn't mordred we saw before? what if he died and his identity was stolen? he was killed by another druid boy who knew both him and the prophecy and hated arthur so much he wanted to avenge on his own? or the real mordred died by accident and gods demanded someone to become the butcher? (was mordred's name really in the prophecy or did everyone just assume it was him?)

aren't there so many interesting ideas to come up with about what he was planning to do to morgana or merlin or arthur at the beginning, how he changed his mind? how merlin suspected all along? what happened to the real mordred, what was their relationship? did he fully understand his role?.. he acts both good and evil and his words don't match his actions (alex once said this was done on purpose) well, what if it was why?..

Why do the writers always delete the scenes with character development and great dynamics?

Merlin and Gwaine discussing about Gaius and Gwaine’s father? Not important! Gwaine is only a comic relief now.

Merlin and Arthur discussing about Morgana? Who cares! Arthur and Morgana are not brother and sister after all. They didn’t grow up together. Arthur doesn’t care about that evil witch. He never cared.

Mordred expressing hesitation to Morgana about joining her too soon before giving Arthur a second chance? Nah. Mordred is super evil now. End of story.

Arthur gave Merlin Ygraine’s sigil AND shows how much Arthur still thinks about his mother and cares for Merlin? How Arthur accepting him in his family? Fuck this scene. Arthur is a prince and Merlin just a stupid servant! We can’t elevate this stupid servant.

Merlin doesn’t intend to join everyone seated at the round table, but Arthur calls him over to sit at his side? Delete this shit! Arthur and Merlin are not equal. They are not two sides of the same coin.

….this is clearly not important.
