What overcame Luffy when the sea water claimed him wasn't pain. Pain was motivating. Pain was inspiring. Luffy could overcome any amount of pain.

The sea water was exhaustion incarnate. 

It overwhelmed his body. It overwhelmed his senses. It took everything from him. 

When his head slipped below the water he barely had the strength to regret. 

He had no strength to reach out to an offered hand. He had nothing in him with which to fight.

The water whispered a lullaby as it sapped his strength and left him only with the desire to sleep forever in its embrace.

He was half gone when another pair of arms surrounded him, warm against the ice of the sea. It felt good, but he didn't have the strength to smile. 

He didn't even have the strength to wonder what was happening until suddenly his head was above water, and he was gasping for air, and Zoro was throwing him on the deck of the ship.

Zoro pounded on his chest and Luffy coughed and gasped and shuddered, the pain coming now like fire in his lungs.

He found the strength to put a trembling hand on his first mate's worried face.

My recipe for a Good™ fic is equal amounts of angst and happiness, doused in romance and loyal-to-a-fault themes, with certain annoyances (miscommunication for the sake of drama, extreme OOC-ness) carefully avoided. And if I can't find it, I'll write it my damn self! xD

I'm normal about writing duels...

Almost a year ago today, I made a rant about how cool it would've been if the accidental-lost-incident-backup storyline given half-heartedly to Bohman during season 2 was a full season plot (not using Bohman because we can do better) and not just a random, unimportant thing. A couple days after that I had written a short-form script for that potential season, only to forget about it the next week.

Well, I found it again, and I decided to turn it into a complete season breakdown fic! This is now a VRAINS Season 3 reimagining, and since I've had massive writer's block for years now, I decided to go easy on myself and write this in 'episode summary' format. I means that I'm basically outlining each episode in detail, but not writing actual 'prose'. I will post each episode as they are written, and the season will be 20 episodes same as the original S3.

My intention is to stay mostly canon-compliant, just pushing the seriousness of the show even further to give it weight.

And yes, it's going to be Aiyusa, but so is the canon ending of the series and no one can convince me otherwise 💚
