Almost instantly, she is seized by Spot — a giant 🐙 — who is like a big puppy. He loves Lauraliee instantly, because she is bonded to the Water Spirit, Nenya. He squeezes her for a snuggle, not realizing that he’s terrifying. @mermay_official Day 31: #Potion ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🤔What is your favourite Harry Potter book moment? I’ll tell you mine at the end of this post. Funny story about this one… I’ve actually finished the drawing a few days ago — on the 31st. Then, when I looked back at it after a couple of hours I realized I forgot to make them into mermaids. 😂 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You can see the original sketch if you swipe. This challenge was not easy and I’m exhausted! I have “I’m still standing! Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!” repeating in my head — but another voice argues: “Barely.” 😁 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So… I’m going to take a few days off. Get some sleep. Go for walks. Read more of the books I bought. I doodled this one around midnight. 😊 Sometimes an idea pops into my mind and will not let me go, until I scratch something out on paper (in this case in Procreate). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Lauraliee is the main character of my fantasy series Warriors of Virtue. She is a reluctant princess who trades her soul to the Water Spirt for a chance to save her Queendom. Xerox is inspired by Chairon. He is a great immortal warrior who in peace time trains the elete of the Empyreal Army. I love film noir and how cinematographers use lighting to tell a dramatic story. This is a very rough concept of representing an idea I had to show a sad and trapped Ellen. 🩰JUST DANCE 🩰 — BULLYING ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Have you ever been bullied? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I always tried to be kind, but once I remember joining my friends in teasing a boy about his ears. I never felt good about it, but I did it, because my best friend (whom I adored) asked it of if me and also to show that I did not like — like — the boy. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In grade one I admitted I liked A. and was teased by several grades (grade 5 children found out about it) for what felt like weeks. I remained embarrassed about my crush until grade 3, when I realized A. was not worthy of my heart. (Yes — I am dramatic.) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I didn’t have a crush on Z., but with my reputation, I felt I had to nip that teasing in the bud. So, I teased him and felt awful afterwards. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When I came to Canada I was bullied by my peers as well as teachers. A part of me felt I deserved it. However, I realized no one deserves to be bullied, not even the bullies. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is why I included a section about bullying in my story. Christopher, a new student, is bullied and Ellen steps in. At one point in my life, I was in all of these roles.
