really don’t know how you can watch the scene in tpm where palpatine talks directly in padme’s ear in front of the senate, and she’s begging for the galaxy to care about her people dying, and he’s boldly manipulating her into calling that vote of no confidence, she looks like she’s about to burst into tears, absolutely no one is helping her, no one but this evil evil man, and think the prequels portrayed padme as exclusively comfortable & confident in the role of queen. they’re action movies yes, she’s an action hero who is brave and charges into battle, but they are also tragedies. padme is a tragic character. part of that tragedy is her at 14 being put in charge of a whole planet and falling prey to a dark lord’s manipulations. do i wish this element was expanded upon in the movies? yes of course. but i will never understand people acting like it’s not there at all. she was 14. in aotc she says she was too young. it’s right there

Bail Organa is barely in "Revenge of the Sith" and he's such a badass in those few moments that it's wonderful. The Jedi have been declared traitors? Better go pick some Jedi Council members up personally and smuggle them onto Coruscant to destroy the trap beacon. Yoda tries to assassinate the new Emperor? Bail Organa is waiting solo outside in the getaway speeder, giving free taxi rides for people trying to kill dictators. Anakin Skywalker has turned to the Dark Side and killed Padmé? Better adopt and raise Darth Vader's daughter with unconditional love. And after this movie is over, Bail is apparently going to go right back to work in the Imperial Senate while helping to found the Rebellion, because this superspy does not fucking blink.

There being around 10,000 Jedi Knights at the time of the prequels makes a lot of what people in and out of the universe expect them to do frankly ridiculous to me because they don't even fill out the average football stadium, that's how small of a group they are. 10,000 is not sufficient numbers for helping one planet of Earth's size, let alone the millions in the Republic.

Does anyone else have headcanons that are technically an AU but you just refuse to acknowledge that it’s not canon? It doesn’t have to be a big change, but you just refuse to accept that it’s not canon.
For example (mine’s a star wars one), I think that obi wan knew more members of his lineage when he was a padawan than he does in canon - this includes him having a good relationship with dooku as his grandmaster and him being close with nim pianna (I will very happily elaborate on this if anyone wants to hear more).

i always wonder if bail organa never considered being a father, not until he found a teenage queen amidala trying not to cry in the corner of the senate gardens.
i always wonder if bail took one look at her heavy eye bags and heard her steel voice and knew that she was too young to be apart of it all
if bail let the queen cry on his shoulder and he vowed silently to forever fight at her side
i also wonder if bail raised his daughter to feel her emotions with every bone in her small body because that was a luxury that her mother was never granted.
queen amidala the one with steel in her voice and a composure never compromised
princess organa with a sneer on her tongue and a bite to her tone

So you know how sometimes the fanon headcanon is Cody really dislikes Anakin and Anakin is indifferent to Cody? What if not that, but there is a weird animosity that goes both ways. This is just for fun not serious supported headcanon. Okay so:
Cody has no real sibling rivalry with other clones. He probably has some rivalries, but they're not driven by being better than your sibling to make your parent proud, as all the Clones' authority figures sucked until very recently (And even if it was the case he's High Commander of the Third Systems Army, suck it Fox he wins).
Then we have Anakin who has been an only child for both his Mom and Obi-Wan all his life. Ahsoka was a close call but that all worked out.
Neither of them are prepared for the levels of sibling rivalry that sparks between them. They are both grown men, and yet both crave outdoing each other.
For the first time Cody has someone he respects and wants to impress. there's enough one on one time between them that he's basking in all the attention his General gives him compared to how it was on Kamino. Except there's one problem.
Anakin, who now for the first time is dealing with someone that takes Obi-Wan's attention, who Obi-Wan also listens to, and sometimes even favours when it comes to plans. Cody is a grown man, but Obi-Wan is definitely mentoring him. Was that a shoulder pat? Where's his shoulder pat!?
So they don't hate each other or anything, but they both get irritated when the other one ups them in front of Obi-Wan and will purposefully try to show off to pull attention in subtle ways.
They both want to be the favourite.
Anakin is more obvious about it. Cody is the picture of professionalism, but his professionalism is a little too perfect when Anakin is around to contrast with Anakin being unruly in the war room.
The petty asides from both of them are impressive.
Obi-Wan has absolutely no idea how to deal with this without having to call them both on it out loud, which would be mortifying for everyone involved so he suffers silently.

My take on Rex’s hair is that he is a natural blond and does not dye it
You may be wondering, why are his eyebrows dark then?
My very (un)serious headcanon is that part of the cloning process means the kaminoans (no idea if that’s spelt right) chose certain aspects of the clones genetics that they wanted to prioritise and put lots of attention into. One of the things they chose was eyebrows, to help the clones be more effective when they raise their eyebrows to judge/question people. Because naturally eyebrows are just as important to focus on as other useful traits a soldier needs (eg fitness, intelligence - obviously eyebrows are not at all out of place on that list)
Therefore, because they focused more on eyebrows, Rex has standard eyebrows but his hair is a different colour to most clones

ROUND ONE: MATCH-UP SIX
Tumblr media
Corrected! I uh. I accidentally set it to one day at first. Forgive me and please reblog this version instead.
Remember, this is NOT about who would win in a fight. This is about who makes the best leader for Mandalore as a whole.
Explanation post
Seeding
Propaganda below the cut! You can submit more on this post and I will reblog it back to here!
CAPTAIN REX
Anon: VOTE FOR MY BOY REX! Reasons: I have created a short poem to convince you. Rose are Red, The 501st is blue, He survived one war, He and Wolffe are the last two. Trust in him, he is great. And he can defy fate. This last verse is late One last thing before I dissipate Idk how to make poems, mate
@spacetime1969: This man managed to handle Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, and the 501st without going crazy.
Anon: Rex ran herd on Anakin for years surely the entirety of the Mandalorian populace cant be worse.
Anon: Rex is a good commander! And I think he could totally win the darksaber if he tried.
JASTER MEREEL
Anon: Jaster is the one who should rule Mandalore and all Mandalorians, although he started small he searched to make a new code of conduct for Mandalorian bounty hunters, he tries to keep the culture intact yet keep Mandalore progressive and not stuck in the past and from killing each other.
@spacetime1969: He literally rewrote what it means to be Mandalorian, and he created an entire movement around said philosophy that had a good chance of becoming the controlling party of Mandalore if he hadn't been assassinated. What more do you want?
Anon: Jaster for the win, he's the most recent one who actually knows some shit (as much as I love Din Djarin this poor man doesn't know ANYTHING), besides Jango and Boba but they're both very unstable individuals.
@nerdpickle: Jaster, his philosophy perfectly balanced tradition and reform, keeping the best of both worlds, he was also one of the few people chosen by the people

ROUND ONE: MATCH-UP FIVE
Tumblr media
Remember, this is NOT about who would win in a fight. This is about who makes the best leader for Mandalore as a whole.
Explanation post
Seeding
Propaganda below the cut! You can submit more on this post and I will reblog it back to here!
DIN DJARIN
Anon: propaganda for Din Din is the sort who is willing to seek expert opinions and apply those opinions in a practical way. He is a very practical person and very community oriented as well as great at keeping cool under pressure and adapting as circumstances change. He's also a great choice if the traditionalists start to cause trouble since he did win the dark saber in single combat and seems to keep sort of stumbling into situations that end up being ka'ra mandated omens that he should be a leader among Mandalorians.
Anon: I love this man to death I think he’s like the prototypical best kind of leader in like certain mythos the man who does not want to lead. He cares deeply about his culture and wants it to flourish and looks to all sorts of other people for advice and respects their opinions fully.
@spacetime1969: He doesn't want to be Mand'alor, he has no idea how politics works, and that is why it would be really funny if he was
@lightsaberwieldingdalek: Din Djarin is objectively the funniest Mmanda’lor simply because of how much he does not want to be and therefore he should be Mand'alor.
URSA WREN
Anon: successfully lead a clan and that's the direct position that would naturally lead to the path of succession. She plays political games and has a cute little diplomat husband in Sundari. Does in fact choose her clan and the welfare of her people over her own personal feelings. Maybe she was death watch at some point but you know what? She left it with Bo so there’s that.
@spacetime1969: As the countess of house Wren, she has ample leadership experience and also knows how to play the political game.

My favorite little headcanon is Chewie knew exactly who Obi-Wan was and was like: yeah don't worry my guy is solid he can get you to Alderaan. No no, he won't recognise you or ask questions, trust me. I don't even think he knows what a Jedi is. He is not big on historical non-fiction.
