beautiful sustainability...
Les Grands Verres is the amazing new project of the creative community the Quixotic Projects, the founders of several successful restaurants and bars in Paris. The new restaurant and cocktail bar of the Palais de Tokyo is designed by architect Lina Ghotmeh and built out of new sustainable materials. The range is big and beautiful, from counters out of compacted earth to minerals, recycled plastic chairs and wood. Over 200 suspended lights are standing in dialog with the history of the place and breathe in elegance and purity.
The project is a full holistic approach to sustainable practices in hospitality. The team is reducing bottle and packaging waste, as well as CO2 emissions by ordering the wine in barrels, they are growing their own edible flowers and recycle and compost waste, plus they even keep bees.

parking heaven...
This cool puristic parking garage I found in bordeaux is situated next to the train station. This industrial building is different to ordinary parking garages, the facade, out of white slats, is performing a play of transparency and translucency which changes its appearance based on your view point. Furthermore it lends the building a timeless elegance and provides filtered natural light inside the parking garage making it inviting and safe.

Orion...
This stunning housing building by Tetrarc architects is called Orion and situated in Bordeaux in the eco quarter ‘ginko’. The building is covered by an impressive facade system, a triangle grid out of matt polished brass profiles, is like a futuristic art-deco inspired design.

modern...
This housing building by Devillers et Associés reminds to classic modern architecture and fascinates with its puristic elegance and forms. The orange coloured balcony niches and the very puristic white shutters are building the highlights.

contrasts...
This housing building in the eco quarter “ginko” plays with color contrast and materials. The black metal facade out of corrugated metal builds a nice contrast to the fresh green shutters which is noticeable from afar. The dark brown wood gives the building a warmer character.
Nice detail: the suspended metal ceilings of the entrances are coloured in bright orange and green and which reflects nicely in the glass.

chess club style...
This lovely terrace belongs to the restaurant Beaucoup situated in the heart of the Marais, in Paris. The stunning floor builds a great contrast to the midcentury wood chairs. A nice detail and my personal favorite, the curved edge as the floor continues up the wall.

let the sunshine in...
Aluminium louvers control the sunlight in the MAXXI Museum in Rome, designed by Zaha Hadid. The louvers control the light incidence and its perforation serves as acoustic panels at the same time. Beautiful detail!

brilliant perforation...
Another post of the Philharmonie facade. The perforated aluminium facade allows filtered daylight where needed and looks amazing from afar. The shiny, sparkly character suppose to stand for the glamorous events which are taken place in the inside and builds a contrast to the monolithic building.

birds...
The beautiful metal facade of the Philharmonie in Paris, designed by Jean Nouvel, is a real eye-catcher. Geometrical birds in grey tones lend a special character to the metal facade and look amazing in the sunlight.

dots and lines..
In the restaurant Linea, belonging to the great Maxxi Museum in Rome by Zaha Hadid, you’ll find plenty of nice details, for example the acoustic panels in round form cut out of Styrodur. The deeper hanging ceiling in the middle of the room is related to the museum ramps and gives the space a new dynamic.

vivid ceiling
This nice ceiling out of metal shades delivers an unique elegant character, just like “les nautes” the restaurant itself, where you can find it. Located directly at the Seine its worth a visit, especially in summertimes.

Its all about illusions...
Again the 1K Hotel... There I found these amazing wallpapers with visual couch effect. They are facinating, you can’t really tell that this is printed. Good economic solution and execution for wallcovers.

Nature History Museum Basel - conference and picnic lounge
very special in this museum and definitive worth a visit is its conference and picnic lounge. Wall panels and floor out wood provide a warm ambiance and a natural character. And the funny thing, this time animals watch you eating and not the other way around.
