Earth’s last stand

It’s been a while since I shared my thoughts about a new episode. That episode was fine, it was exciting, sweet, a bit rushed. What I didn’t like at all was the ending. I mean not the ending, but the solution to the 8 turtles thing...I solved that problem like 50 times better in my head in 2 minutes. I feel like the writers took the easy (and stupid) way out. Hmmm...how do we get rid of the MAIN CHARACTERS? We just fly them into space! Like...really? The turtles just decide to leave, without even a second thought? Without asking how the hell are there 4 more turtles, what happened to them? Should they even leave New York without protection? Did the thought that 8 turtles are better than 4 even cross their minds? And now there are more turtles out there in space and we can count on them to come back? Like, if these 4 die, no worries, master Splinter, we have a spair! 

I am so mad rn. I hope we just pretend this never happened and there are no more turtles out there. I hope they don’t come back if things get too bad on earth, and I’m sure they won’t. 

Honestly guys, I’m getting kinda disapointed in this show. I’m pretty sure at the end of the second season someone told the writers that the show needed to be more kids friendly, that’s why we’re dealing with weaker episodes, they’re fine, just not as exciting, dramatic and mature as the older ones. I’m kinda glad we’re finished with space and are back to out favourite New York city, the Kraang, Shredder, Karai, i wanna see what happens with them now. 

P.S. I’ll try to come back to the blog, I swear. It’s just...well, who thought College would be so hard? xD I hardly have any time for fun;( I have 3 papers to write before the finals. I hope I’ll get more free time. I miss making gifs, sharing my thoughts about the episodes and you guys.

How to Make TMNT Ornaments

Here’s a step-by-step guide for how you can Turtle out your Christmas tree, by our incredible background painter Miho Tomimasu!

ITEMS NEEDED

2 sheets of green felt 1 sheet each of red, purple, orange, and blue felt (cut into strips 1.5" wide- only need 2 strips for each turtle’s bandanna)

4 colored threads (red, purple, orange, blue) 2 embroidery flosses (pink, green) 8 black, 0.25" diameter beads Needles (1 large, 1 small, several round pearl-head pins) Scissors Sharpie Cup (diameter about 3.25") Synthetic stuffing

STEPS FOR EACH TURTLE

1. Trace the cup onto the green felt with a Sharpie and cut the circle out (do this twice) 

2. Place the two cut circles on top of each other. Blanket stitch the cut circular felts to each other around the edges with the green embroidery floss. Stop when you reach 2/3 of the way around the circle.

3. Cut one of the bandanna strips to 6" in length.  Fold it in half and cut it into a leaf shape, but with the folded edge attached.

4. Cut the other bandanna strip to 8.5" and tie the piece from Step 3 around it—around the halfway point.

5. Align the top of the bandanna with where you started the blanket stitch, and tack it down with round pearl-head pins.

6. Dart stitch the bandanna down onto the green circle (using the thread that matches the bandanna), being careful not to stitch the two green circles to each other at the center (stuffing needs to go inside).

7. Embroider the mouth using split stitch and the pink embroidery floss.

8. Continue to blanket stitch around until you reach the bottom of the bandanna, and tie the floss off.

9. Stuff the green circle until it is very firm.

10. Tuck excess bandanna inside, and sew it shut.

11. Sewing the eyes: Start from back and pull the bead tight until it looks like a tufted pillow.  Sew through several times to ensure security.  Same for other eye.

12. Sew a loop on top.

13. You’re done with one turtle! Repeat steps 1 through 12 for other three turtles!

Pro Tip:  Mikey has a shorter bandanna bow and Donnie has a longer bandanna bow if you want to be super on-model!

Headcanon #2

(Season 3…pretty much the first headcanons will take place in season 3, after the first episode, cause for me, there was not enough damage control for the other turtles, so I’m just filling them in XD)

The night after Leo woke up after 3 months of being in a coma, every turtle headed to their rooms. In the middle of the night Raph entered Leo’s room, he knew Leo wouldn’t be sleeping. He wasn’t, there were too many things going through his head. Moments before everything went black were playing over and over in Leo’s head. Leo was sitting on his bed when Raph sat beside him. Raph hugged his brother as tight as he could, afraid he might slip away again. Niether of them said a word. After a couple of seconds Raph couldn’t hold his tears back anymore, he’s been holding them in for 3 months now. He started crying on Leo’s shoulder, holding him tighter, Leo didn’t mind the pain. Raph wanted Leo to know how scared he was, how the thought of loosing his brother haunted him for months, how he couldn’t close his eyes for a minute, to sleep because he was afraid something might happen to Leo again, how he didn’t want to take his eyes off of him, how the fear was eating him alive. He didn’t say any of it though, he didn’t have to. Leo understood everything. They just sat there silently for 30 minuets, until Raph felt better. He just stood up from the bed and left the room, leaving Leo alone. Raph slept good that night, for the first time in 3 months.

Headcanon #1

(Season 3, after Within the woods)

When Leo woke up from (let’s call it) coma, he kept having nightmare every night. Nighmares about Shredder ending his life, but not before killing his entire family before his eyes. He would wake up screaming but went quiet as fast as he could to not let his brothers know something was wrong. One night, after another nightmare, Leo was lying in bed, just staring at the ceeling, afraid to fall asleep again. He heard the door to his room slowly open. It took him a while to realize it was Mikey in the dark, and he was holding his teddy bear wrapped in duct tape. He slowly approached Leo’s bed and put the teddy bear on the night stand. “Here” Mikey said “it keeps the nightmares away from me, maybe it will help you”. Mikey smiled at Leo and left the room without saying another word. Leo looked at the damaged teddy bear and smiled. He slept peacefully the rest of that night.
