Crib Notes on How to Go About Constructing a Matrioshka Brain or: How I Plan to Go About Bringing Doom Upon Us All.
Here’s an example of the hard-sci-fi-derived speculative conceptualism that I tend to write on a semi-frequent basis for the purpose of self-preservation, because this is a subsection of the noggin-bothering hypothetical-rumination that continually rattles around in my mind and which just has to be expressed somehow; for if I allow it to build up in there too much without getting it out it will most likely totally consume and then destroy me.
I tend to write this stuff merely for my own amusement/sanity-preservation, as it’s often pretentiously dense, and I feel it would be highly presumptuous of me to foist it upon the world (and by doing so presumably expect people to take the time and mental-effort required to read it and “get” it) on a regular basis. Or maybe I’m being pretentious by expressing such a view…
But I am fascinated with the concept of Matrioshka brains* (Robert Bradbury’s extrapolation of the Jupiter brain), and maybe you are too, or maybe you will come to be after having your curiosity piqued via the following, I dunno. I’m into the incongruity of dichotomies — this is basically a convoluted set-up to a really silly punchline.
Einstein once famously said that “if you can’t explain [something] simply, you don’t understand it well enough.” — so bearing that in mind, and seeing as I’m actually putting this out there for people to (maybe) read, I’ve made a concerted effort to write this in layperson’s terms, and by doing so hopefully prevent this from being a mastubatory exercise in self-aggrandizement via wilfully grandiloquent obfuscationary pisstaking in place of concise information conveyance. Because for Chrissakes Maxwell, this is Tumblr — keep it simple, stoopid >__<
Besides, I already did one of those.
Righto, without further ado, let’s get into some DOOM-inducement shall we?
Empirical evidence suggests that a tetraneutron (i.e., a cluster of four neutrons) of stable† existence could be formed via combining 2 bound-state dineutron molecules.
However, it has been calculated that a PENTAneutron state (a five-neutron cluster as opposed to the tetraneutron’s four) could, and would, exist in an UNbound state.
Y'see, the more neutrons one is able to bind together the more stable and perdurable one’s cluster thus becomes. For example, a mononeutron has an approximate half-life of a mere 10 minutes before beta-decaying into protons, electrons and antineutrinos.
This particular conglomeration process is, as of yet, mere theoretical conjecture. But eh, we’re getting there.
Aaaaanyway, what I am interested in doing is poaching some of this pentaneutronic two-billion-tonnes-to-a-teaspoonful matter direct from the stellar core of a neutron star.
Why? Because nucleosynthesis of pentaneutronic hyperclusters with so-called strange matter would provide the vital constituent necessary for the fabrication of computronium, i.e., “programmable matter”.
Once this is achieved, we will have made a major leap forward towards achieving the means to construct a Dyson swarm. There will still be a number of massively impedimental factors to tackle — such as wireless energy transfer from an energy source (i.e., an energy source of sufficient power and mass required to power the swarm’s construction) to the swarm’s orbital construction points; locating a exoplanetary system suitable for this purpose (with a suitable source star of sufficient energy-potential to eventually power the completed swarm) and setting up shop within said stelliform power-source’s orbit; plus of course the tackling not-insignificant issue of the extreme complexity of the swarm-orbits’ arrangements due to the nature of orbital mechanics. Dyson-swarm construction requires taking planets apart for construction materials (plus what the swarm will ultimately be used for will [most likely] need to be jacked directly into the energy of a star in order to power it), so obviously we won’t want to construct it within our solar system, because doing so would be fucking insane. All this and a whole lot more will contribute to the staggering practical difficulty involved in the monumental task of building a hypothetical megastructure such as a Dyson swarm (and building it in outer space, no less), but once the computronium has been synthesized we’ll have the fundamental source material for the swarm’s construction. That is the TRICKY BIT already taken care of. And thus we will be one step closer to my ultimate goal of constructing a motherfuckin’ MATRIOSHKA BRAIN, bitches.
The existence of which will then enable my consociates and I to punch a hole through reality itself and peer beyond the constraints of space and time, to glean some true insight into what lies behind the “eyes” of the Almighty‡ — to create a window into the as-yet unfathomably omniscient mind of the Divine.
Indulging in a spot of God-bothering¶, if you will.
So, laying the foundations for this (ambitious, to say the least) enterprise is what I’ll be preoccupying myself with next year. It’s highly likely that by doing so I’ll ultimately end up bringing about the downfall of us all. Pretty neat huh? Annotations:

† “Stable” in terms of stability of matter and time-state — I had enough esoteric info to attempt to convey here already without delving into quantum mechanics and mechanosynthesis in order to elaborate upon this further, but if you’re interested in exploring this more in-depth, a good place to start is here. http://crd-legacy.lbl.gov/~meza/papers/hybrid.pdf

Cabadath, what do you think of Chzo since he replaced you with Theodore?
The Prince has taken some time to ponder this question, as it has become his reality. A reality he could not change, even if he were able to.
"The New Prince was inevitable, as was my demise. It was all a matter of time, truly, as it was Chzo's will."
He looks to the female Black Shuck beside him, who whines when their eyes meet. He reaches to pet her, rubbing behind her ears as she liked.
"However, I was given yet another chance to invoke my vengeance upon humanity, and for that I will be forever grateful."
